When One Life to Live resumes production in its new studio home in Connecticut, the role of Destiny will no longer be played by the beloved Shenell Edmonds. The writers decided to slightly age Destiny, and give her a different edge. Thus, casting calls had gone out for the role and auditions had been in process. Part of the recasting, many believe, has to do with Prospect Park wanting their versions of AMC and OLTL to be slightly edgier in story than the original.
Today, according to a post from Soap Opera Network, they are exclusively reporting that the role of Destiny will now be played by Laura Harrier! On-Air On-Soaps has yet to have confirmation of this casting news.
Harrier is a New York based international model represented by Muse NYC. Laura has shot campaigns for American Eagle, Target, and L’oreal and has been photographed for such magazines as Glamour, Elle, and Cosmopolitan. One Life to Live would be Laura’s first role as a series regular.
What do you think of Laura being the new Destiny? In light of the storyline One Life has planned for the characters of Destiny/Matthew and little Drew, it seems like Destiny will resort to some “desperate” measures to make a buck! Weigh-in!
