Jean Passanante  the current head writer of As The World Turns, will be joining the writing team of One Life to Live once ATWT ceases production this summer. Jean assumes the associate head writer position with the OLTL writing team. Ron Carlivati remains head writer.  This had caused speculation and great concern for fans of the show, that Ron Carlivati, whose contract is rumored to be up during the summer months, could be asked to step down as head scribe. But according to this official report, he stays as head writer.

Passanante has a history with OLTL. She was associate head writer from 1993 to 1996, and then again from 1997 to 1998, and as co-head writer from 1996 to ’97.

Prior to joining As the World Turns, Passanante served as head writer for All My Children and Another World.  It will be interesting to see if there are any other writing team changes on the way in the coming months.

Chris, this is the beginning of the end for OLTL. Sorry, but she is just one of the worst writers on soaps.

I think Jean Passanante will be good for OLTL she was there for the good years in the 1990′s. Jean Passanante has worked with Ron Carlivati and I think that they will work well. Jean Passanante will likely bring back Roger Howarth back to OLTL as Todd Manning.

I am really not enjoying OLTL lately barely seeing Dorian. Tired of the teens and John Mcbain. Marty saybrooke and gigi are dead end characters in my book.

Thanks, ron needs to come to his senses.
