That video is great. Ali & James explained EJ and Sami’s relationship so well. And EJ is the only one that has only loved Sami for the real Sami and doesn’t want her to change. What great chemistry these two have! They are the best part of Days for me by far.

Agreed! Im so excited that DAYS is finally going the route of EJ and Sami. They are so sparkly together and have awesome chemistry. EJ said it himself that Sami is the only one he’s ever really looked at or wanted and I’m so excited about their upcoming storyline. I wonder what it will be. I stopped tuning to DAYS but I have been lately and its so nice to see EJAMI be a couple without anyone hiding a secret.

I’m so thrilled Days is finally telling a legitimate story with EJ & Sami. I’ve been watching the last 2 weeks in a (happy) daze & this particular week feels like a Valentine to us EJami fans. James & Alison’s chemistry is currently one of the best things daytime has to offer & whatever the storyline, they’ve been able to sell it & make it entertaining for this soap fan so I’m looking forward to see what’s ahead for them. My favorite part of the video is how they’re both able to articulate so well why their characters are attracted to each other. They simply get it.

I’ve been loving their scenes, especially Sami’s confession to him. Ali did a fantastic job, and James showed so much emotion from EJ without saying a word. I’m looking forward to their story and the Will/Gabi baby story as well.

It’s obvious they’re fond of each other and really put a lot of thought into who their characters really are. I’m loving that they feel that EJ and Sami bring each other closer to their true selves. I am loving their storyline! Oh and I am thrilled Ali and James are this funny too. lol at worrying over what might be on the DiMera couch!

The actors and their characters have great chemistry together which make them DOOLs perfect couple. History or no history connection, just showing them in bed together isnt all you need to call them the most romantic otherwise Brady and Kristen would win that award. I like to see them have a candlelight dinner, slow dance to a love song, or an uninterupted walk in the park on a starlit night. That is being romantic. Im no prude, and dont mind seeing them in bed (they did have children together ect.) but i want more than that. Soaps need these little romantic moments shown otherwise its just a story about sex.

    jim replied

p.s. i couldnt get that video to work for me. i dont know why but the others like GH did work. And what i meant about my post above is that DOOLs has become a soap about bedhopping and very little else. And there is more to life than getting some instant gratification. Like my opinion or not it is the truth. But dont get me wrong im starting to like E.J. and Sami together. I just feel they need a little romantic time outside the bedroom.

I think we’ll get it, but you have to remember, these two have been fighting their feelings for each other for YEARS and they’re making up for lost time. :D

    Briggs replied

You’re right, little romantic moments are so important. I would love to see EJ and Sami dancing together or going on a date and just spending time together. Their lunch date at the pub this week was lovely. When EJ said he couldn’t imagine life without Sami, then took her hand and brought it to his lips and kissed it, that reminded me of old-school romance. And it helps up the romance quotient to see that they’ve spent more than six years perfecting the art of looking at each other like they’re the only ones in the room.

Thanks, Michael! l love this video! Ali and James are so cute! You can see where their chemistry comes from. I loved the discussion of how ejami are the only ones who can be so angry with each other and then end up kissing/having sex 5 seconds later. I also loved it when they talked about how EJ doesn’t want to change Sami and loves her BECAUSE of the bad girl in her, not in spite of it. Those two are such a joy to watch!!

    Reply

    Briggs replied

That was my favorite part of the video, when Ali said EJ was the first person who told Sami he didn’t want her to change and James said EJ loves Sami because she has those qualities and that’s where her charm is. EJami accept and love each other, faults and all, and we EJami fans love them, too.

I was never invested in any particular Sami relationship. I haven’t been a committed DOOL fan. I thought why woud she ever choose EJ on logic… but I am enjoying their current relationship. I am enjoying how EJ is being… sort of a better person than he usually is away from his kids. He is being more like he is with his kids with Sami. I must say I would appreciate if they stop with the trangles with her and let her either have a realtionship for awhile or not. Triangles are way too over used at the moment by too many of the soaps!

All I can say is it is about …. TIME! I think the reason Ejami work so well is because the actors themselves get it.. Although there have been many ups and downs with this couple and sometimes us fans have been angry, frustated and hurt by the Days powers to be decisions regarding this couple what we are getting on our screens at the moment has made it all worth while. To me part of Ejamis charm is that they are not perfect. I find their faults endearing. I’m loving every second of what I’m seeing on my screen. I simply cannot get enough. Ejami really have it ALL :)
PS: After years of fighting their love (mainly Sami with that one, EJ more wore his heart on his sleeve with Sami)…. and being tormented over it, it is so, so, so nice to see Ejami happy, in love, relaxed and at peace. Hopefully a proposal of marriage won’t be too far down the track.

EJAMI is one of the greatest love stories I have ever seen on TV.It was never written as a conventional love story so you really had to pay attention to Sami and EJ-to get it.EJ went through he*ll just to have the woman he as always loved,Sami. His unrelentless pursuit of Sami is what captured my heart and I have loved EJAMI for years because of that.Sami deep down was always drawn to EJ but was afraid to give herself to him completely because he is a Dimera and she overlooked the great love she has always wanted because of that. Now finally the two of them have evolved into eachother and they can now be the loving couple they were destined to be.Thanks Days-Ali S. and James S for this beautiful, crazy, adorable love story.GO EJAMI!!!

How can that not carry onto the screen?! Everything they do is captivating. As far as the story line goes, EJ is truly the only man who has ever loved Sami for who she really is. She has finally matured enough to see it! I for one have never been “hung up” on what happened with them in the past… all of their bad deeds done to each other. How amazing that a couple can still be so popular and loved after their sordid history! That has to say something for their chemistry, charisma and intrigue!

    Funny because its trending

    Karen replied

It trended because REAL life people cared about what happens to REAL Life abused and raped women of the world and their rights. They didn’t trend it for people to focus on FICTIONAL characters on a SOAP OPERA. Piggy backing someone’s hash tag shows how low some of you are. EJami trended, and majority of the comments were positive. So the belief that viewers hate EJami is a lie, and you stating otherwise doesn’t change it.

    Carol replied

Holy Cats … all of this about a fictional couple? Someone should be getting a raise! They are creating a “buzz” and that’s what is needed for this soap and soaps in general. You can love or hate this couple BUT you can’t deny that they are “buzz worthy”! So haters keep on posting and lovers keep on supporting because this is what is going to keep Days on the air longer!

I think it is always a good reminder that this is FICTION! This is not a real couple.

    Reply

    RockfordFosgate replied

“Buzz-worthy” doesn’t keep a show on-air; ratings do. “Buzz-worthy” doesn’t impress the sponsors who pay to have their commercials air; ratings are what pays the bills.

    Carol replied

According to the team at NBC/Days “buzz worthy” is what they look for. They want to know what is creating “buzz”. It could be positive or negative. People responding means they are watching. Indifference is what they are concerned about. Not a couple who draws opinions and many of them. I am 100% certain if people were indifferent to Ejami then this pairing would have been back burned a long time ago. But there is so much “buzz” about this couple that the Days team keep coming back around to them.

I also venture to guess that EJami will get their usual three months and then they will be broken up again. Then they will fire them up again for sweeps. Ejami is Days go to couple for “buzz” be it a hate storyline or a love storyline.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Buzz doesn’t mean people are watching. People are tuning out but still talking about it. Buzz doesn’t affect ratings. Ratings are what the sponsors look at. If the show loses sponsors, they lose money and support of Sony/NBC. They will get cancelled. Negative buzz also is something sponsors DON’T want to see.

    Karen replied

Well since Days ratings are actually better than last year with 250,000 viewers then I guess they are doing well, and low and behold it’s during a time when EJ and Sami are together.

    Janet replied

I find ppl using real life tragedy to further their agenda for a fictional soaop couple completely ridiculous Instead of tweeting hate for a FICTIONAL couple why not spend ur time volunteering to help the cause you claim to care so much about RME

Again, how do you know what people do in their real lives? Making assumptions is does not prove your point.

    Janet replied

Well for those who hang out on twitter 24/7 spewing hate at actors doing their job I think it is reasonable to assume they dont hv much else going on in their miserable lives They should be ashamed But anyway I am loving the EJami storyline!!!!!

    RockfordFosgate replied

And for those who spent so much time on twitter professing love for the actors and storyline, I think it’s reasonable to assume they don’t have much else going on in their lives to gush about fictional characters. See, flip side of the coin. Can’t through that criticism out there without the reverse also being true. FYI, I don’t use Twitter.

    Nicky replied

Why are you posting about a show you don’t watch? You are entitled to share your opinion BUT your opinion holds very little weight since it is based on something you have not seen.

I have read many many post from Dool viewers who did not like Ejami before and their new storyline and romance has won them over.

I am one of those converts. I hate Sami – but I like her this time around with EJ. I still love Ejole but I now see all this wonderful romantic chemistry that is Ejami. Ali and James are really selling this romance.

I don’t care about their past – soap characters have always been remade. Redemption is a key element of soap story telling.

EJ can be redeemed and So can Sami – I guess.

    I love redemption storylines!

    Karen replied

Nicky, I love reading posts from logical people :-) I’m not even upset that you hated Sami LOL.

    Dmitri replied

Nicky, I do watch DOOL. I’m reading the recaps still. I will not give my ratings to a show that promotes rape and abuse as romance.

    Nicky replied

Dmitri, I am ok with viewers choosing not to watch something they don’t like. I stopped watching for awhile as well because quite frankly Days was boring. You should spend the time on things you like. But this is a soap and soaps are not real life and they don’t address real life issues properly. Viewers know this. Practically everyone in Salem should be in jail. lol! So you do watch DOOL even after you posted that you didn’t. You are invested if you are reading recaps. You are certainly not indifferent about the pairing of EJami that is for sure and some may even say you are negatively passionate about this pairing. Just look at the time you spent on this forum. My guess is you go to other forums and rant as well.

Days can NOT be in the business to please one fanbase – Days does not want fanbases THEY WANT FANS!

Couples come and go, storylines change, romances run hot and cold. It is the nature of SOAPS! My guess is that EJami will be in a romance for about three months and then Sami will be back with either Rafe or Lucas. Who knows Austin may show up or Brandon.

You can watch and support the show and not like a certain part of it. I do it every day. There are lots of storylines that I didn’t like and FF and I can tell you I didn’t comment on something I DID NOT WATCH.

I can tell you one thing – allowing yourself to get all bent out of shape about a SOAP is only hurting you. It is making you a negative person. My advice is step away from this show for a few months and focus on positive things and it will be a mood booster. Stay away from the boards because misery loves company. And Negativity breeds negativity! I promise you if you do this you will feel a whole lot better.

  37. Barb says:

That was just the most disgusting promo. Interesting that among those wonderful “clips” there was none of the rape! But then, James said Sami set EJ on fire….and she did not do that. And all those clips neglected all the ones showing abuse. No mention of the lying, manipulating, etc. The only “healthy” relationship on Days. How sad that both actors have to sink to such a low level.
Alison & James might tout the “Sami/EJ” love story, and talk about their fans, but they had better understand that the majority of VIEWERS hate the coupling, and a great many are turning off the show, taking it off their DVR schedule, or using their FF button.

    Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

This video is very cute. Ali and James are always fun together – on and off screen! What makes Ej and Sami so entertaining to watch is this back and forth banter and dynamic they have. They can be fun (funny) and playful when they tease each other. Obviously, they have a crazy, terrible history (I did not see the really bad stuff from the past that everyone talks about), but they have this lively spirited dynamic that makes you want to watch them on screen.

Hope Days keeps that up, and keeps the relationship going in a positive way – for a while any way :) . I think the ratings reflect that viewers want to see more of this as they appear to be up since they put Ej/Sami together if I am not mistaken. They should keep it upbeat as they have been doing in recent episodes.

I actually think the renewal is all the way through September 2014…so Days is in good standing for a while! I think the ratings successes of the Grief Sex in November 2011 and the Daysaster and aftermath (very Ejami-centric as well: Who can forget EJ holding onto Samantha for dear life!! sigh) – proved to the network that Days can deliver. So glad Ejami is getting a chance to shine! Their chemistry is contagious and addicting!

How awesome was that? And who freaking cute are they? More of these! I’m so thrilled that the TBTB are finally realizing what gold mine they have with EJami and Jamison! Nearly seven years it took, but if they keep giving us more of these amazing moments, it’s been all worth it. My favorite part of the video was when James was describing why EJ and Sami are perfect for each other. Spot on! They really are perfect for each other.

I’m offended by the persistent attempts to sell EJ and Sami as romance. What I’ve seen is an outright abusive relationship. Raping someone and later laughing at the fact that you put another man in her bed to repeatedly rape her after you’ve abducted her husband and also allowed a stranger to terrorize her child is not “DARK” ROMANCE, it’s NOT any form of romance as far as I’m concerned. Its criminal (as the show pointed out), SICK and abusive. Sami truly needs help if she feels that she deserves to be treated like this. The sad thing is that there are real women caught up in this same situation, and Days trying to sell this CRAP as romance is not helping them to deal their situations. It’s like promoting child abuse as just another form of stronger parenting. The problem is that romanticizing RAPE abusive relationships helps to perpetuate the problem. Just as portraying racism, child abuse and sexism as acceptable did for centuries. As with those issues this is not about personal preferences any more that if I strongly objected trying to paint a child being repeatedly beaten and emotionally abused and the party doing it being accepted and praised as a wonderful parent who has a kid that just needs to be handled differently as acceptable (and I don’t care how many sins the kid may have committed in the past), or a situation where character is repeatedly discriminated by a boss, friend or lover accepting it as a great relationship. While it has been done in the past, that type of crap in no longer acceptable, and the same should go for what Days has repeatedly tried to do with Sami and EJ. At this point all those things are not just illegal, society no longer finds it justifiable to try and gloss over them, RAPE and ABUSE need to be treated the same.
There are thousands of women within very similar situations as Sami in real life trying to make themselves believe that they can change their abusers or that they deserve their abuse. Promoting Rape and Abuse as romance only perpetuates the problem.
As to the issues not mattering because this is fiction:
While the characters may not be REAL the ISSUES of RAPE and ABUSE ARE. Just as those of racism and child abuse are. Those issues are important whether they be portrayed in fiction or in fact. As far back as the seventies a television movie called Cry Rape, helped to raise the issue to the cultural forefront by portraying the realities facing women who chose to follow through on the prosecution of their rapists. FICTION MATTERS! It always has, which is why when dealing to IMPORTANT PREVALENT subjects such as RAPE and ABUSE, Networks, Shows, Studio’s etc… need to act responsibly.
NBC, Days and SONY are currently promoting the EJ-SAMI relationship as ROMANCE and that is JUST PLAIN WRONG. I don’t think any network would dare, during daytime or prime time, to try and promote modern version of Amos and Andy or even Gone With the Wind that included the same racist undertones that would mirror the current recycled Rape to Romance crap being shown on Days. If Daytime television truly wants to survive the current state that its fallen into, it needs to swiftly move into the 21st Century, which IMO means moving past 19th Century versions of ravished women being entranced by their RAPIST/ABUSERS.

I agree with everything said by Jnta. This story is not romance. It is the depiction of an abuser and victim. Both of them are emotionally incapible of any type of ‘love’ at this point other than the selfish love them reap upon themselves.

    JSFan replied

You really have to take the energy to use trying to rid these two fictional characters from the other and put it into helping real people with real problems in the real world. Is it only EJ and Sami that disgust and offend you? What about Rafe and Kate? That should really offend you. Could you imagine the outrage in the real world where a member of the FBI/police department, or wherever the character of Rafe is working right now is allowed to cover up crimes. This great cop hero is sleeping the a woman (Kate) who has tried to kill people (Dr. Jonas, Chole, even framed Sami for murder if I recall correctly. Where is the outrage in that. That is real abuse of power. Nothing worse than a crooked cop. Yet I haven’t seen one post about that abuse. Sami and EJ can take as good as they give. I don’t remember any outrage when Austin and Sami were together after she raped him. This is obviously agenda driven and that’s where the real abuse comes in,

    Karen replied

JSFan…Their goal is to get their couple at all cost, even if they have to spew about “rape” and “victims”, when it’s so very obvious that majority could care less. They even stooped as low as to jump on One Billion Rising to try and push that agenda by using their hash tag. This is a campaign to support REAL LIFE women of Abuse and Rape, and they used it to try and turn people’s focus on FICTIONAL characters that do not exist in the real world. Many of them have issues.

    RockfordFosgate replied

JSFan, who says people aren’t doing things in the real world? Speaking out about a fictional storyline doesn’t negate any possible actions that anyone is doing for real-life scenarios. It’s the ATTITUDE of ‘blame the victim’, of ‘she really wanted it so it wasn’t rape’, “it wasn’t brutally violent so it wasn’t rape’ is pervasive throughout all parts of society…the fictionalized rewriting of EJ/Sami’s history, the ill-informed politicians trying to make laws based on inaccurate beliefs, the high school students posting horrible videos and vile comments about a rape victim, and so on.

Karen, who’s spewing “rape” and “victim”? The characters said those words (all except EJ who couldn’t admit what his actions were, even in his “so-called” apology). The actors themselves have used the words many times. The writers who actually wrote that scene have used the words. Again, my comments to JSFan also are relevant because the attitude that this is somehow “romantic” or that the rape was actually some kind of “bargain” and that makes it okay is not just in fictional settings. It happens in real-life. And it happens in real-life they see others thinking it’s okay, they see this whitewashed “romance” of EJ/Sami and think it’s okay, they see these politicians (the ones who supposedly know enough to make laws) and they think the politicians must be right. This attitude is everywhere and THAT is what we’re pointing out.

It isn’t about fanbase/fanship wars. Get over that. I could care less if Rafe, Lucas, EJ, Brandon, Austin, etc “get” Sami.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, I know many counselors who deal with rape victims that say this was rape. I also know many rape victims who say it was rape. That’s the point I am trying to make by illustrating our “esteemed” politicians also make these fallacies about rape. The attitude about rape has to change and it can’t change if people believe things like “legitimate rape” exist. Rape is rape, period.

Ignoring what the characters, actors, AND writers said about those scenes is truly mind boggling. Fanship them all you want, I’m not giving you grief for liking them, just don’t ignore the facts.

    Karen replied

Rock what your saying about councelors, rape victims, and them seeing it as Rape means nothing to me. I know Rape victims who didn’t see it as such. This happened in 2006 on Days. It isn’t a current story that the charactes are discussing. The characters don’t bring it up, so it has no relevance what so ever on Days currently. Your digging up an event that no longer plays into current storylines. Like I said, your agenda is obvious. Did you also ask those abused women if it was abuse that Sami married a man that tried to kill her twice? How about if it was physical abuse when Lucas slapped Sami in the face. Why aren’t you ringing up those things? Wait…I now, because that’s not your agenda. Yes, you heard me right! I said agenda!

    Trenel replied

Choice = choice to watch whatever you want and if you don’t like what you are seeing – turn the channel! Don’t argue with and condemn others who are enjoying the program. I agree totally with JSFan, Where is the outrage for RAFE (the cop/FBI agent) covering crimes who now beds a woman who has more than once tried to kill people? What about other characters who have done more than their share of CRIMES, LYING, Manipulations, Adultery and more – PUH-LEASE… this has everything to do with your fanship of one character vs. the other – nothing else.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, because it doesn’t match your agenda, anything that is mentioned “means nothing” to you. You ignore, insult, and deflect and don’t discuss or consider other people may have valid opinions or bring real facts to the discussion. Sorry, that’s just not how intelligent conversations proceed.

Again, it’s not agenda. I don’t care what couples are together or not. It’s about a horribly-written storyline that has had no logical progression to get to this point. If they wrote a REAL redemption story for EJ/Sami, fine. But this is utter crap writing. Pure and simple. EJ/Sami fans shouldn’t be happy with something that is slapped together like this and set up for failure.

    JSFan replied

Sorry, I don’t believe that for a second. Where was all the outrage when Sami drugged and raped Austin and then raised a son together. Where is all the outrage when fictional characters are poisoning other characters, shooting characters, commiting adultery, blackmailing etc. It’s a soap, raping, drugging, shooting, choking, seducing a priest, breaking and entering, poisoning, changing paternity happens. What about Hope trying to burn Bo to a crisp? I didn’t see any outrage for that. Seriously, it is quite obvious that it is agenda driven and nothing else. When I don’t like what’s airing, I turn it off. Rafe and Lucas could rape Sami next week and their fans would ship them still. In fact, eventhough Sami’s cheated on Rafe with EJ, left Lucas to defend EJ, their fans are still asking for their reunions. If you want to ship a couple, fine. Don’t bs about another couple. JMO

Please Rock! I see your agenda and you’re not fooling anyone here. EJ and Sami have forgiven each other, and it’s too bad you don’t can to accept it. I don’t buy for one minute that you are offended and “fighting” for victims. The event of 12/29 was left in away that viewers had the option to see it as rape or not. I chose not to because the rape victims I know were never given a choice. Like Lucas himself told Sami, she’s resourceful and could have found another way to help him, and like Sami told EJ before they made love “it wasn’t like that” regarding that night. Lumi’s and Safe fans want to latch on to whatever works for their agenda. Since Sami and MANY of the viewers have moved past that event. Just like they moved past Lucas trying to kill her twice, and Rafe for falling in love with her sister and lying about being Nicole’s baby daddy. I deal with logic, and I don’t see much being used by some Lumi’s and Safe fans posting here.

    Karen replied

Exactly JSFan! They’re using a REAL issue to push their agenda. None of them can convince that this isn’t about wanting their couple together. Sami has had sex with EJ and had kids with him. What exactly are they pushing TPTB to do? They want them to end EJami and give them the couple they want. Even if I believe some are offended, EJ and Sami have long pass the line where it matters. They have willingly had sex and had a child from that. That should have disgusted a person who is truly offended and had them turn the channel, but no, they are still harping years later. Sorry, but they get nothing by eye rolls from me.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Fanship, fanship, fanship. Seriously, it is not about who “gets” Sami. It is about the rewriting of the entire seven years of storyline just to pair two characters who were never intended or written as a love story. That is the BS.

I criticize the attitude behind the trivialization of rape, and discussing the attitudes as they appear in real-life and in fictionalized accounts does not trivialize it. It helps bring awareness to the real-life issues and highlights the injustice. Look at “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. That novel help drive the abolitionist movement. Now, I’m not saying a soap opera is in the same league as that novel because they are obviously not equal, but the point is you simply cannot negate the power of fiction to help create attitudes and ideologies.

Soaps do have an extensive history of portraying social issues (racism, abuse, rape, interracial and gay couples, AIDS, autism, etc) in a respectful and ACCURATE manner. The fact that Days thinks that rewriting SEVEN YEARS worth of storyline to twist something that was clearly abusive and dark/twisted into some sort of mushy “love story” is sad and pathetic. I don’t expect morals; I expect well-written storylines that make sense. That’s not what’s currently happening in most of the storylines right now, including EJami.

Days is a business, and those actors are collecting a paycheck. Promoting the soap and their storyline is their job. I do not recall reading an article or seeing a video in which a daytime star has trashed their employers and/or the writers. Sometimes it happens after the fact, but certainly not when their work is being aired. With that said, I got the impression that both Ali and James are enthusiastic about exploring a Sami/EJ relationship.

Days is a soap opera and not a morality play. As viewers, we react to more than just the storyline. That’s a good thing because often the writing has been less than stellar. To get everyone to agree on a storyline or a couple is impossible, but that’s the challenge for the creative team. As long as they can sway the majority of the audience, they’ve done their job. If a viewer does not buy what Days is selling, then it’s time to turn off the TV. Heaven knows I’ve taken my share of extended breaks from my favorite soap.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion. If that opinion is to be respected, it’s important that equal respect be shown to others with whom you don’t agree. It’s called being a part of a polite society. Behind the user name is a real person, so I think it’s unfair to paint with a broad brush.

    Nicky replied

I think Actors generally promote storyline! That’s part of their job. James and Ali have both promoted Safe and Lumi. (Hello GREEN WEDDING) talk about promoting.

I think they have been as pro-storyline as they can be. I wouldn’t expect anything but.

This is so silly, the arguments are made as if this is REAL life. This is a Soap/Drama/Fiction.

James is really clue he thinks EJ is a prick and he admits to doing horrible things to Sami and Sami admits she is a member of the darkside always has been and while she draws to be a better person because that’s what her family wants her to be – she at her core is not such a good person. EJ knows that and is the ONE person who accepts Sami for who she really is! Even if he has to forgive her for shooting him in the head and hiding his baby from him. EJ did terrible things to Sami and Sami did terrible things to EJ and they have forgiven and come to terms with that. Is this a healthy relationship – NO but this is a SOAP! There is a whole lot of unhealthy going on. That’s what creates suspense and angst. Lumi did horrible things to each other too but people still want to see them as a couple. NO different in my eyes.

Yeah….No articles I guess, since Soap Operas have and never will be seen as a bases for real life. By the way Rock, where you as persistent in defending Sami’s rights as a victim when she slept with Lucas, the man who tried to kill her? How about Austin? Now we are to believe he really loves Sami; a woman he raped? As much as I hate the Sami character, she doesn’t deserve to be saddled with her rapist. It is this kind of story telling that is ruining DOOL.

It takes a person with intelligence and heart to embrace a story about irrational passion (both good and bad), forgiveness, and acceptance. That is what the EJ/Sami love story has always been at its core. Sami and EJ are not the finest and most upstanding citizens in Salem and thank goodness for it! What a dull place it would be. They soooo belong together. I think it’s wonderful that Days is willing to embrace and tell the love story of such intense characters. Anything less would be an insult to MY intelligence.

    RockfordFosgate replied

It takes a person with intelligence and heart to recognize the story for what it was for over 7 years. It was abuse and torture and was NEVER a love story. The spin from both the show and the EJ/Sami fanbase is disturbing.

    B replied

It’s not a “spin.” The EJ/Sami story has always been a love story driven by irrational passion. That passion has come out in every way imaginable. The abuse and torture was always self-inflicted through denial and fear of their own feelings. It’s tragic and romantic in every way a tangled love story should be. I can understand why some people wouldn’t appreciate that kind of complexity and would prefer the simplicity of hearts and “I love yous” and birds chirping. That’s fine. It doesn’t make me unintelligent for enjoying a little bit more range in the romantic stories I invest my time in. It’s foolish to think everyone thinks the same way or that someone who thinks differently is wrong or pathetic. Different strokes for different folks.

    RockfordFosgate replied

B, go check you’re first comment. You’re the one who insinuated that those who don’t “get” the storyline as you see it are somehow less intelligent and have less hear than you. Can’t handle your own line thrown back at you? That’s a little hypocritical, isn’t it?

I don’t have to have “birds chirping” or whatever you think, just don’t insult my intelligence (and I mean the show, not you) by rewriting seven years worth of storyline was clearly OBSESSION on EJ’s part and RAGE on EJ’s part for not being able to possess and control Sami. Sami’s actions were always in response to vile actions FIRST initiated by EJ.

Sadly, in the real word it does happen. Women are caught in abusive relationships because they think they can “change” him or that he wants to be a “better man”. Gee, those quoted words sound familiar? Sami said that continuously. By portraying this as a “romantic, love story” then it does help perpetuate the attitude that women can “change” their abusers. That attitude persists in not only fictional shows like this, but in real-life.

And as a critic of writing ability, if you have to rewrite SEVEN years worth of storyline that was consistently-written as abusive as your “best” option to give this couple a “real chance”, then their writing skills are worse than monkeys typing on keyboards.

    Karen replied

Rock, then why don’t you take yourself to a REAL article discussing Real women of victims instead of trying to spew your upset here to Fans of a soap that could give two pennies about what you have to say. People here know Sami and EJ’s history and you’re not going to influence me or them, so save your energy and use it for better things. Like…I don’t know..Writing NBC about how you’re “offended” with EJami. Since you’re a critic of writing ability and are upset about a Soap Opera that deals with murder, blackmail, kidnapping, adultery, premarital sex, demon possessions, rape etc ect… With majority of the characters not paying for their sins and offenses are forgiven and forgotten on a regular bases by them and viewers.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, there you go assuming things about what I do or don’t do in real-life or for real-life situations. Gee, there is a lot of real redemption and paying for sins on the show. Look at Nicole. How she apologized several times, how she is struggling to be a better person. Where is that for EJ? I’ve seen none of that on-screen. Also, on a show that has a history of doing incredible rape storylines, I find this one appalling because they still treat the other rapes with respect and accuracy. Jennifer was still outraged over Lawrence and said so to Vivian. The last time Jack was around Kayla they were only barely civil to each other because there is still that discomfort level between the characters. None of those rapes were romanticized nor did they continue to pair those people together in some sort of rewritten “romance”. It’s just vile.

    Karen replied

One word for you Rock, Bill and Laura! Yeah, he raped her and they went on to being one of the most loved couple on Days, and had a child. EJ has apologized, but since it doesn’t help your agenda, you don’t care. He could stand in front of all of Salem and repent, and you still wouldn’t care. I can assume what I want about you just based on your post. Just like you’ll assume I’m annoying and ignorant to your point of view, but hey that’s your right. It won’t phase me or change my opinion about why you’re on a article talking about a couple’s love story that disgust you, and claims that your not watching a show because it “offends” you so much.

    RockfordFosgate replied

I’d love to see the storyline where EJ truly repented. It doesn’t have to be in front of the entire town. The writers just have to write that story. But sadly, this thrown-together slap-crap is what they do instead. Bring on the real redemption story, make it dramatic, make it well-written, make it believable, make it visible because it’s been completely non-existent on-screen. That’s the point I’m getting at and you’re making assumption about silly fanbase wars when that is simply not the case. Not every single person who doesn’t like EJ/Sami thinks that Safe or Lumi are the be-all-end-all. Not every non-EJ/Sami fan thinks the same way.

Also, I NEVER claimed I’m not watching. You’re lumping me in with other people. (FYI, my viewing doesn’t count towards ratings so I’m not contributing ratings to something I don’t like).

    Seriously? replied

“In the real world,” yeah you should have stopped typing after that. This is to the other EJAMI haters: The difference between soaps and other shows is that they go on for 50 plus years. If these characters were not forgiven by the writers (who don’t give a damn about proper redemption for ANYONE) for the worst of the worst crimes you do understand there would be a constant revolving door of new actors and characters right? Planning involving characters in soaps is generally bad because things like rape should only be committed by characters with short shelf lives or are meant to be forever evil, but it doesn’t work that way in Soapland because they don’t wait to factor in popularity. There are expendable characters on the canvas as we speak that should be flipped to the dark side and killed off because they are doing underhanded acts that people like EJ are blasted for. Also what B said is correct they seem to understand how soaps work. Characters with development whether it be moving forward or regression= long soap-shelf-life. Characters meant to be the same white knight that majority of the characters love from the start that dabbles in misdeeds and never suffers for them, all the while exhibiting NO character development= someone that should be killed off or they are only kept around because they are a writer’s pet (Mary Sue/Gary Stu). Why do you think Victor and Stefano have been turned into comedians? They would not have lasted as the big bad villains who were purely evil. Evil people either have to die or change, and if they’re popular they’re not dying so guess what? Ding, ding, ding. So you don’t like EJAMI because of their history? Well you probably should hate a huge amount of couples and protest them just as vehemently. Let’s remember that wrong is wrong no matter the degree of the crime and stop this, “Well, at least they didn’t ‘insert evil act’.” You don’t want characters to change and accept that soap writers aren’t awesome at planning for the future or cleaning up messes? Then go to a FF site and write up a storm on how you think it should go and prepare to get bashed for your Mary Sues, Gary Stus, and child-like outlook and the balance of good and evil. Thin line in Soaps. And remember, if you have to justify it, you did something wrong. Reply if you want, I won’t be checking this site again because I’m sick of seeing the same 8 people claiming they won’t watch anymore while bashing some but not others.

PS. As a victim of sexual abuse as a child I didn’t see it as rape or an event that deeply upset and disgusted me. Sami’s situation: choice. Mine: against the will of a human who couldn’t even legally consent. Good day.

And there’s the “legitimate rape” argument.

The characters themselves (Sami, Lucas, Marlena, Roman, Bo, etc) all called it rape. The actors (Alison and James BOTH) called it rape. The writers who ACTUALLY wrote those scenes called it rape.

NOT ONE of those people ever called it a “deal” or a “bargain” or an “agreement” or whatever other euphemism you want to use. Rape is rape.

    Karen replied

Well, they’ve now called it a bargain. Since its their show, they get to run the way they want. Like I said, I didn’t see it as rape. But since you seem to want to argue that the characters said it was rape, then you can’t ignore Sami telling EJ it wasn’t like that, can you. But of course you will because you’re “offended” by the writing and a Soap Opera having the nerve to change history to create and move stories along ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

And elsewhere on official show pages, it’s still called rape. You are taking the “it wasn’t like that” way out of context. It was said in direct response to EJ asking if he had physically hurt her that night. She went on to talk about what a disgusting pig he was and the vile things he said and did afterwards. She called it rape even when talking to him in that same episode.

    Karen replied

Rock, that’s your interpretation of they scene! I saw it differently! How can you claim she was raped, and then take her words as meaning she meant he didn’t physically hurt her. Did the rape victims you spoke with tell you that they weren’t physically hurt after being raped? Please stop Rock, because now I just think you offensive. Honesty is always the best policy Rock ;-)

    D4ysfan replied

So, are you one of those “legitimate rape” pushers? If someone isn’t physically hurt then it can’t be rape? There’s more to abuse and rape than just physical damage, there’s psychological and emotional damage also.

    Karen replied

D4ysfan…. Reading comprehension goes a long way. I’m not a “pusher” of anything because I know REAL from REEL life. Though I will accept being a “pusher” of EJ and Sami’s love story. I’m pushing in your face that it’s being told on screen, and you “pushing” your rape agenda means nada to me, other than I can call you out on said agenda. You and the rest don’t hold the market on rape victims and their beliefs. Myself and other EJami fans know victims and have our own understandings on Real life victims of abuse and rape. We aren’t looking to be taught by agenda driven posters, especially regarding a SOAP OPERA.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, talk to real medical professionals. They will tell you that not all rape results in physical tearing and scarring. Not all rape situations are violent or brutal. The body can have a physiological response COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO CONSENT to what is essentially friction (to phrase it PG) and that DOES NOT mean “she wanted it” or “she really liked it”. This is the blatant disregard for real fact that is scary, in discussing fictional depictions of rape as well as in real-life politics.

Rape doesn’t need violence; rape only needs the lack of consent of the individual. Consent that isn’t coerced or blackmailed. Consent of free will, not out of fear.

    Karen replied

Rock, seriously this is an article about a soap opera. If I wanted a lession is the effects of rape physically and mentally on victims I’ll seek out the information on my own. I’m not here to be taught thanks. But you know what you should do is take this information to a board where people want to advised, I’m sure you can come up with a few.

    RockfordFosgate replied

The point is that how you choose to view those scenes is contradicted by medical experts and professionals who deal with this on a daily basis. The point is that the attitude of “it was a bargain” is inaccurate and is very dangerous because that attitude persists in real-life situations and is very damaging to the victims involved.

Also, the deflection of “this is about a soap” was very skillful in ignoring the similarities between the fiction and real-life situation I presented. Nice job on that.

Obviously the show just wanted to jump to them as lovers, promote the heck out of it and hope it puts the ratings where they want them. Once all this initial hype is over I wonder if viewers other than the ejami fanbase will find them all that interesting? ITA. EJole was the best couple to hit Days in my opinion. THAT was dark romance.

    Karen replied

Hmmm….So you’re ok with EJ choking Nicole, but him being with Sami is seen as a victim with her “rapist”. Yeah, the agenda isn’t obvious at all with you posters. You guys can cry foul, abuse, and “rape” all you want because at the end of the day Sami is still willingly having sex with and is in love with EJ.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, Nicole and EJ were a bit mix in terms of characters. Nicole never wanted to “change” him and accepted that he’d have a dark side. EJ just couldn’t accept the same of Nicole, but I feel that’s because EJ wants to control every aspect of his life and the people around him.

Having said that, I don’t want them together ever again, and it is precisely because of EJ’s physical aggression towards Nicole. There were several instances of him grabbing her neck in anger, grabbing her jaw to hold it steady while he put his face a few inches away from hers and yelled in her face, and so on.

The problem is you can’t erase those images of EJ in anger or those images of EJ raping Sami (and terrorizing her endlessly for seven years). The show simply can’t pair EJ with either of these women because of that. They need to start a fresh relationship for EJ and drop that anger and aggression level. I’d prefer they’d address that on some level (I know soaps won’t have him in anger-managment, but still some acknowledgment in some way is better than none.

    Karen replied

Rock, your comment about EJole just proved my point about your agenda and why your “offended”. Sorry you didn’t get your couple! By the way, I never saw EJ rape Sami. I saw a scene of her agreeing to have sex with him to help Lucas, and then both sitting in a car fully dressed after the sex, which wasn’t shown on screen. it’s rape to you, but not to me and other viewers.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, who cares what couple is together. My saying EJ/Nicole were more compatible than EJ/Sami isn’t fanship, isn’t be being butt-hurt because they aren’t together. Read what I typed. I’d prefer they’d stay many miles apart and never have scenes together again.

And wow, to you’re saying since we didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. Since she was coerced emotionally (not to mention being held captive by gunpoint…oh wait, the magical disappearing and reappearing gun) that it wasn’t rape. *smh*

    Karen replied

Blah, blah, blah Rock! You said you saw the rape. I corrected you and told you the act wasn’t shown on screen. Why don’t you take your own advice and read what I wrote. Keep shaking your head, because all I’m doing is rolling my eyes at you. So, you think the writers read enough of your venting to hire you yet. Maybe TPTB have seen just how “offended” you are and is taking steps now to fix things and give you your couple :-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

Okay Karen, since I have to get very technical for you since you can’t seem to understand it, “images of EJ during the rape episode”. Is that better? He was a vile and disgusting pig to her and those images and words (as well as the look on her face immediately after the rape was done) say it all and cannot be erased.

What couple? I don’t want any couple that involves Sami. As for being hired, nope. I’ve got a job I love and even if they paid me millions, I wouldn’t write any storylines involving EJ/Sami.

    Karen replied

So you’re a EJole fan then…Thanks! ;-) Sigh….Good night Rock, sweet non offensive dreams.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Nope, not EJ/Nicole. (Don’t you find the combo names rather silly?) Nicole does not need to be anywhere near EJ ever again. Again, read my words and take them at face-value. I do that for you and I find discussion and debate work much easier when both parties at least attempt to extend each other the same courtesy.

    Karen replied

I actually do think the combo names are silly. But I find it the simplest way to show I’m speaking about the couple. It seems some people get confused about wheither I’m talking about a couple or individual characters for some weird reason. Pretty much similar to when Ken Corday said EJ and Sami had a lot of story, but some people thought since he didn’t use EJami, then he must have meant the individual characters :-) So I use combo names mostly to not confuse them ;-) Though I’m not gonna lie, I get a laugh out of combo names when I write them.

I volunteer my time to help them etc. That’s my real life and I’ll defend a woman with all my being. However, I prefer to watch kipnappings, shootings, etc, when watching DAYS. I love when EJ and Sami do horrific things to one another and then forgive and move on. They are not my role models. Their actions are not going to help or hinder the actions of the millions of men, woman and children being abused all around the world every day. Oh boo, here’s comes the second choice montra. Sami’s heart felt confession to EJ told exactly where her mind and her heart were. Like she said to EJ, she didn’t want to throw him away, not even for the man she “loved”. I guess she didn’t love Rafe enough then. Oh, and I have no doubt that even if Rafe and Sami stayed together, her and EJ would have hit the sack in no time. It’t hats a given! Rock, for a none shipper, you’re sure good at bringing up all the points they spew. I’m interested in what new material you’ll come up with.

    RockfordFosgate replied

I’m calling it as I see it. Boy, you so have to label me as something I simply am not because you can’t imagine someone outside those ships thinking the same things. Here’s a clue…not everyone thinks alike. I know EJ/Sami fans don’t see the same things in those characters. Some like “changed” EJ, some want “dark” EJ. But no, anyone who disagrees with you has to be labeled and defined as “the enemy”. That’s my perspective on how you respond to me, not how I see us.

Here…no ship involving Sami. That plain enough for you?

    Karen replied

Oh, Rock I didn’t call you an “enemy”. See I’m not the only one making assumptions. I just don’t buy what your saying regarding being offended about EJami, and honestly if you’re secure in your beliefs and know I’m wrong about you, then you should quit responding to me. But it’s obvious it irks you that I believe you have an agenda and you’re going to repeat over, and over that you don’t. It’s still not going to change my opinion, so I advise you to save your comments. There’ll be no changing of the guards here.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Your assumptions about this being a fanbase war and insistence that I’m part of an different fanbase DOES make me the “enemy” so to speak. I never said you called me that; you have to label me into a fanbase that is in opposition to yours so that does make me “the enemy” whether you say it or not. It’s the attitude that you bring to the discussion.

I’m not irked or anything. I just find it silly, and a bit sad.

    Karen replied

Don’t be sad! Some people and their views just can’t be changed. But I commend you for your effort to try and convince me. As for the “enemy” thing, I get it…”fanbase wars” “enemies”. Being that the soap genre if full of mostly nothing but battling fans and fan bases, it will always be impossible to be seen as anything about agenda driven, and IMO usually that’s the case ;-)

Karen, can it be, we’re coming to an understanding of some sorts? *Southern accent* Well, I never! Well, except for the agenda thing… ;)

I’ve been waiting and hoping to see Alison and James fantastic chemistry being used for good not evil, in terms of entertainment on the show, but if Ejami want to get their grey selves a little dirty, that’s all the better! And how great is it that we seem to have writers who really get the unique dynamic that Ejami brings to the table! Absolutely loving the show right now!

I am sorry that some people find EJami’s love story offensive but it’s only a soap; not real life! However, some women do forgive. Sami was not raped by EJ, it was a deal that he made to her. He didn’t put a gun to her head; she consented. As far as the doppelganger, that was Stefano’s idea – far out, yes. Wrong, yes. But it’s a soap! Crazy things happen in soaps!

As far as Nicole is concerned, EJ wanted her because he couldn’t have Sami. The vendetta was supposed to end if a Brady and DiMera would get together. EJ had no idea he would fall in love with Sami so he had eyes for no one but her. The other women; Nicole and Taylor happened because he couldn’t have Sami.

I for one, am enjoying this love story immensely. I think James Scott and Alison Sweeney have a connection with their characters and know them so well that they play them with such heartfelt emotions, their fans root for them wholeheartedly! Sami has been drawn to EJ from day 1 because he is a rebel like her and EJ loves Sami because of her spirit and who she is! It’s a soap, my gosh! Soapy goodness in all it’s glory! I am happy to be a viewer of Days for 47 years and have never seen a couple that have so much charm, charisma, spirit and sex appeal that EJami does! I thank TPTB of DOOL for realizing that EJami is Dynamite!

Maybe you’ll get lucky and TPTB will see the errors of their ways often reading you none bias and agenda free post here ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

You realize you’re calling yourself small as well since you are so ship driven? Just checking…

    Karen replied

See Rock, you’re missing the obvious point. I’m a fan of EJ and Sami, and I’m on a article about their love story, so my fan shipping is well placed. You on the other hand have brought yourself and your agenda driven posters here to spew your agenda about a couple you don’t like. One thing I don’t do is discuss EJole, Safe, and Lumi’s on their positive articles because I don’t care about them and they aren’t worth my time. I have my priorities straight like that. I’m calling the Small group of you agenda driven, my agenda is to support EJ and Sami together with the Large amount of positive posters commenting here ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen I do appreciate showing support for whatever you view as positive. I came here originally , not to comment, but to watch the video and see the EJ/Sami fan perspective in the comments. I truly can’t understand how EJ/Sami fans are happy with what is currently written. I view it as poorly-written and slapped together (as I think a lot of the show is currently in the same situation). If it was happening with a couple I wanted (if I fanshipped anyone, which I don’t because none of the potential pairings interest me), I wouldn’t be happy with the writing. Sure you get your few weeks, maybe months and then it’s over because it’s not being written to the best it could be. I see real storyline potential in so many other directions for EJ/Sami that could result in them being paired, but in my opinion the writers chose the easiest and quickest to appeal to a fanbase that the higher-ups believe (right or wrong, who knows) could help with Sweeps. I think the writing is lazy and I’d be upset with it if I belonged in the fanbase. That’s truly my point.

I do view it as a rewrite/whitewash of EJ’s character since this supposed “change” in him hasn’t taken place on-screen and I would like to witness that road to redemption because I think it would be compelling, character-driven drama. The rape issue, yes that’s very personal to me and I do have strong feelings on the subject. I do advocate in real-life, in politics and in helping real women in those situations. But that is only ONE aspect to the EJ/Sami story and it simply does not boil down to that one event. I think the discussions about “it was rape, no it wasn’t rape” do narrow down the focus of topic too much. It’s about so much more than that and we both know that.

    Karen replied

LOL… Whatever Rock! Even with that write up you’re adding back handed comments. I’m happy with the EJami story and like what I’ve getting from the writers, and from what I’ve seen so are other EJami fans. You don’t have to understand why. So don’t you worry about us EJami fans liking the story for however long it “last” ;-) Soaps are for entertainment, and IMO if fans are entertained then the writers are doing their job. But hey, they can’t please all the fans, all the time now can they :-)

You assumed you could drown out all the positive comments by screaming rape, and being “offended” by how a Soap Opera is portraying fictional characters. At the moment I don’t see you or the others spewing “rape” as people I’d like to debate with. I admit, your writing kills are pretty good, but not good enough where I can’t see your intent and….wait for it……..Agenda! Anyway, EJ and Sami have been on fire, and from the Days Facebook, Many in the GA are loving them . I’m looking forward to their love story, especially the romance :-)

    Karen replied

Obviously I meant writing skills, but kills work too I guess LOL

    RockfordFosgate replied

Oh Karen, you “kill” me with your humor. LOL. The more we type, the more I like you. I mean that. That still doesn’t me we have to agree. We’d bore each other to tears if we agreed, I bet. ;)

And yes, I just commented above here that yes the rape discussion narrows the debate/discussion down greatly. We see it differently; we both know real-life victims etc that see it differently. We both think we’re right. We both aren’t go to change our opinions.

Also as I stated, saying something that “other” shippers say doesn’t automatically lump me in with them. I can have my own opinions and I don’t have to belong to some sort of “group” to do so. I’m calling it as I, an individual watching the show, see its. I don’t “ship” anyone. I never really have. I do like to analyze the characters and yes I do see that EJ/Nicole’s characters were more compatible than EJ/Sami but a lot of that is individual character analysis and not rooting for a pairing to “get their chance”. I also don’t want EJ/Nicole together again, but out of his pairings (Sami, Nicole, Taylor), then Nicole was the better match for EJ. She was the most equipped to be a true Dimera wife because she did accept EJ’s dark side and was willing to look the other way for his nefarious dealings. Sami, eh, EJ can’t control her rash behavior and she doesn’t like him being a Dimera. That’s just simply analyzing the characters’ personalities and behaviors towards each other. That’s not fanshipping EJ/Nicole as I don’t want to see them as a pairing.

    Karen replied

I’m a snarky pants, and it can’t be helped :-) See Rock, character analysis is still based on bias. You’ll see EJ matching with Nicole because you don’t want him with Sami. It’s funny you say Nicole accepts EJ’s dark side, when in fact the opposite happened on screen. In fact, Nicole became a simpering fool with EJ, something Sami has never been IMO. The true character of EJ isn’t evil, and Sami sees that and has always encouraged him to be the man he wants to be. Say what you will about Sami’s being EJ’s victim, she stands up to him and gives as good as she gets. Nicole interfered with EJ’s relationship with his sister a woman he loved, and acted like it wasn’t a big deal when it was obvious EJ was hurt. EJ and Sami IMO are right for each other, because like EJ said, they accept each other faults and all and Sami knows that’s the truth. By the way… I may have left you some brazen comments before I got to this post. I say we agree to disagree, because like you said we’ll never see eye to eye :-) Well, I’m off to watch my DVR episodes of a few Days episode, and yes, they’re EJami episodes ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, I do love snark and sarcasm. :)

I say Nicole accepted EJ’s dark side because she did acknowledge and accept that he would do underhanded things she wouldn’t have knowledge of. She was the epitome of a “mob wife” in that regard. Sami would never accept the underhanded business dealings or schemes. What’s Sami’s mantra…”you can change”. Nicole never wanted EJ to change. That’s the simple contrast I was getting at. It’s not bias to analyze the characters. I don’t want either Nicole or Sami with EJ.

Have fun with your episodes. Enjoy them will they last *insert evil laugh* ;)

You deflecting the fact that Lucas tried to kill Sami twice as a love story by bringing up Will and Sami shooting EJ means nada. I mean Lucas also raped Sami, since she was under age, and he did try to kill her, but look at that….They got a green wedding that the Lumi’s loved. Since they can forgive him those act and call it a love story, so can EJ and Sami fans :-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

Do we truly know what the age of consent is for this fictional town of Salem? It might have been considered statutory rape, it might not have been. But without that knowledge, without any mention of that within the storyline, I’d go with she was above the age of consent since her age was never made an issue, at least until proven otherwise.

    Karen replied

Actually Rock, Sami herself threatened Lucas with the fact she was underage when he had sex with her in order to get him to help her get Austin. So in essence, she blackmailed Lucas with the possiblity of rape charges if he didn’t do her bidding. See, I watch the show and remember what actually takes place.

EJ and Sami don’t hold a candle to anyone. Bo and Hope, Patch and Kayla, Jack and Jennifer, Marlena and Roman, Marlena and John, John and Isabella, Mickey and Maggie, Maggie and Victor, Justin and Adrienne, Jennifer and Frankie, Shawn and Caroline, Shawn D and Belle….I could go on, but ALL these couples top EJ and Sami hands down.

Hey, as long as EJ and Sami continue to outshine Lumi, Safe, Nabi, Dannifer, and everyone else currently on screen it’s good. Majority of the couples you mentioned aren’t on canvas anymore anyway.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Yeah, and perhaps that’s the reason that Days in is LAST place in ratings. Because we have all those you mention Dan/Jenn, Gabi/Nick (also not a love story), Kristen/Brady, EJ/Sami. I’d rather YouTube old episodes than watch any of the “current” couples.

    Karen replied

LOL… Rock baby, don’t even attempt to come at me with Ratings. There are 4 soaps left, and the demos position between all 4 changes at any given time. You know, the demos that advertisers pay for. Come on now, you know what I’m talking about. Let’s use some logic here ok. Days is up 250,000 in viewers and up and steady in demos from last year. I’m still waiting for the Millon fans Lucas and Sami fans promised when BD returned ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

Days has stayed in last place. Last out of four is still last, no matter how you slice and dice it.

    LUMILY replied

the other writers had Lucas and Sami as a family when BD first came back, and then the writers we have now put Sami and EJ back together.
and Days is still #4 in ratings.

    Karen replied

Ok Rock, if you want to be direct, Days is in last place. But it still doesn’t change the fact that they still have more viewers than last year, and their demos are up and steady. You saying their last place doesn’t take away from them actually going good ratings wise. Your arguement is invalid IMO.

    Karen replied

Lumily….Where are the Million viewers you and the other Lumi fans promised would come once Bryan returned? I haven’t seen them in the ratings. It’s interesting that Days during the CH was getting great ratings and demos, and guess what?… Sami was hiding out and making out with EJ while Lucas was crying about Sami not loving him. Don’t let those rose colored glasses tilt, because you might actually start seeing what’s really happening on screen ;-)

This is the sickest coupling in Days history. A rapist and his victim isn’t love or romantic in the least. He not only raped her but he put an imposter in her bed to rape her and laughed about it over drinks and cigars. There is no part of this rapist and his victim story that can be called love.

    SarahBeth replied

Yes actually I am. After the first rape every character involved in the story acknowledged that it was in fact rape other than EJ who in his non apology couldn’t even say the word (at least in EJ’s Day’s website bio they say it was rape unlike the total whitewash of it in the “love” stories). Then when fake Rafe was placed in Sami’s home to impersonate Rafe, EJ and Stefano sat and laughed about it. Take off the rose colored glasses and go to youtube and you will see what was shown on screen.

    Karen replied

Yes, they called it “rape” because Sami didn’t want everyone to know she made a deal. Lucas himself called Sami on it, and Sami told EJ before they made love that it wasn’t like that, and she was hurt about how he treated her after. But since that doesn’t fit your agenda, I guess you have to continue the “rape” arguement…Sigh…on with it then.

    RockfordFosgate replied

There is no argument. It was rape. It was rape such by multiple characters. It was called rape by the actors themselves, by BOTH Ali and James. It was called rape by the writers that actually wrote those scenes. Gee, I think they’d all know what those scenes really were.

And Sami’s saying “it wasn’t like that’ was about the PHYSICAL DAMAGE, that she wasn’t hurt physically as in horrific scarring and tearing. He asked if he hurt her physically and that was her response. Talk about ignoring something that doesn’t fit your agenda.

    Karen replied

Like I said Rock! It wasn’t Rape. Sorry you don’t agree with my opinion, but like you said it is, I say it isn’t. No amount of characters said this and characters said that will change my opinion. But keep riding that “rape” train. There’s people who agree with you…But there’s also those that don’t ;-) By the way, I loved EJ kissing on Sami’s neck in today’s episode. Sami was in such ecstasy. Now that’s a woman in love :-)

    Maggie replied

Wait a second. A reply of “It wasn’t like that” to an inquiry of physical pain/damage straight out says No, there wasn’t. Sami goes on to say that what hurt her most was the way he treated her afterwards. If you follow the show’s history, you know that EJ was not a character that was supposed to stay around long. Had TPTB realized soon enough what a hit EJ was going to be, that scene would never have been written. To set things straight, they wrote the scene between Sami and EJ you quote. Whether it was rape or an indecent proposal became a moot point. If you notice, this past year we’ve seen another side of EJ emerge – the one that’s learned that retribution is empty. Again, this is a soap. Writing mistakes occur. We accept it and move on. Days is currently making great strides in its writing. It’s good. It’s interesting. It’s entertaining. I love Days. I hope it stays on the air for another 50 years.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Maggie, I just don’t see that EJ has learned anything. There has been no real evidence of struggle or that realization. I’d like to see that play out better. I think the writers could make a great compelling story if they truly went that route with it. I do think this is not the best plotline they could come up with if they truly wanted EJ and Sami to have a “real chance”.

    Maggie replied

Rock, there has been evidence that EJ has struggled, lots of it. In fact, it started with the grief sex reveal. It continued with finding out he wasn’t a DiMera, Lexie’s death, having only Will and Sami believe in him when he was accused of murder, trying to win Sami back and finally realizing he couldn’t make her come to him if she didn’t want to. His final realization came when Nicole’s baby died and he refused to press charges against Rafe and Daniel, both of whom broke the law by aiding and abetting Nicole in covering up the paternity of her child. He did that because he realized that seeking revenge would not make up for his loss, that he needed to move forward and become a man his children and he could be proud of. December shows highlighted all the ways he had changed – teaching his children to think of others less fortunate, being considerate of Sami’s involvement with the wedding planning, being a good father and brother, being supportive of Sami in her career, being considerate of Johnny’s attachment to Rafe. All of this motivated by his determination to live a good life. So there has been plenty of evidence of an internal struggle and of his realizations. I’ll grant you the writing has been awkward at times, but that comes with the transitioning of the new writing team.I’ll forgive Days that because now we have some rock solid stories being told, not just the Ejami romance. The baby custody umbrella story is excellent. I’m enjoying Days, and I’m watching everyday because I don’t want to miss anything. It’s that good.

James & Ali made me smile and laugh and LORDY BEE YES -that one scene in July 2012 t when they were arguing and then almost started to make out – the whole summer was awesome, Sami & Will believing in EJ’s innocence up to the Cliffhanger totally pulled me in. I was Lock Stock & Barrel then only to be thrown off the cliff and plumment for months. NOW we are back to where it all began. Every scene EJ & Sami have -they do talk about their past, they talk about the incredible connection that has always been there and how they are two peas in a pod. It has taken seven long years to get to this point and even though the waiting drove me crazy – I feel like the writers and actors are honoring the full history. Today especially when EJ stated that even though during the times they fought they were never indifferent. Samantha said it to EJ -no matter what -it always comes back to him.

If this storyline bothers you so much that it causes you to come on boards like these and others to rant and rave at a hateful level then turn off the TV. Don’t post, find a healthy hobby. This is not good for you. Hate is NEVER good for you.

When you can no longer separate real from fiction that is a problem. I am not typing this because I want to judge – I am typing this because it is disturbing to see some of these posters go to such a hateful level that it could be harmful to themselves. I see a lot of cyber bullying on here too and on other boards. It is harmful. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you or they like a couple you don’t like that doesn’t mean they are evil or bad. That just means they like something different PERIOD! It is fiction folks.

And all this stuff posted against these actors – they are people too. They are just doing their jobs. Please don’t judge them because that is beyond horrible.

It is boring BUT I only watch EJAMI so its super exciting for that. EJ and Sami got over the rape thing in 2008 and Sami did the same thing to Austin. SAFE fans got their couple for over 3 years and I think its time that us EJAMI fans got their chance as well.

I’ve seen so much bullying from both sides. But EJ/Sami fans are not blameless, so don’t go patting yourselves on the back. Instead of addressing the issued raised the comments, you have insulted people’s intelligence (and gotten defensive when the exact phrase was handed right back to you), you have came back with the “it’s just a soap” argument to supposedly negate our comments (and all that does is show you don’t have any logical arguments to refute what we’re saying), and how insisted this is some silly fanship war when most of the comments have not even addressed the other “suitors” in Sami’s life. And that’s just in the comments I’ve read so far. On many other boards and sites, there’s nasty name-calling and threats by EJ/Sami fans to anyone who says they don’t like EJ/Sami. And supposedly, non-EJ/Sami fans are the ones who take fictional shows too seriously and need a reality check? Pot…kettle…black.

Lumi’s, Safe’s, and EJoles can act like they’re being attacked and insulted like their little lambs who do nothing, but we all know better. Anyone with eyes can see exactly how insulting they can be. If you going to dish it, be ready to take it from those who are happy to give it. I mean, what’s your purpose her Rock? You’re here to insult the coupling of EJ and Sami and those that support them. It’s you motive, and you saying otherwise would be a lie. Just like me commenting to you is throw it in your that I know your agenda. I’ll say it here again. No ship involving Sami. I just don’t care enough about any potential pairing for her. No ship on the show. Nothing is interesting me to the point of rooting for. I do think a few storylines are interesting, a few are outright bad (mostly because of bad writing or that I see needless drama.. for example, the baby drama could have been carried out without the paternity lie and still been very compelling drama. Most of the storyline elements could have stayed the same.)

    D4ysfan replied

Karen there you go with the personal attacks…again, and turning it into a petty fanship battle. Really, it’s not about the characters it’s about the story. Why are you so insistent people even care about Sami or her men? People don’t like every character you know? It’s rude to keep telling someone they have an agenda when you have no proof. I see a lot of people, including myself, that think Sami shouldn’t be with anyone right now, because the way she’s being written as a mess that no man deserves; and that she doesn’t even deserve Rafe or Lucas. You keep mentioning agenda this, agenda that, you know what they say about pointing your finger, you have three pointing back at you. Is it really hard to believe that people genuinely care about an issue? You’re being quite rude, just like the show is to rape victims, one of whom I know was greatly disturbed by Sami begging her rapist and 7-year abuser to give her a second chance.

    Karen replied

D4ysfan, point all the fingers you want at me. Doesn’t change my opinion! Your agenda, yes agenda is obvious. You can claim your “offended” by the rape and a victim being with her rapist all you want. It still is about you wanting your couple, and EJ and Sami being together interfering with that. Cry me a river with the I’m rude and insulting statements. I’ve had discussions with viewers who I believed had real issues with EJami’s story, but unlike you and the others here they don’t use it to try and get a couple they want. Also I side any “victim” you know whose offended by Sami wanting EJ still watching the show. She’s had sex with him twice since 12/29. IMO, any victim of rape who had an issue with that day and is still watching the show now don’t have a real issue. If they were offended they would have stopped watch once Sami had sex willingly with EJ in 2008. Agenda, agenda, agenda…… And I’m not changing my stance on that ;-)

    Karen replied

By the way, you care about Sami and her men or you wouldn’t be here. I’m not buying any BS about it being about the storyline, and you being so “offended”. Yes, I bet you want Sami to be “alone” so that she can be with the person you want her with down the line ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

I want Sami alone because I don’t have a vested interest in any of the ships. I don’t care enough about the character to want her to “fix” herself or whatever you think. I do think that she can have great storylines that don’t involve bouncing from one man to the next. She is a business woman who’s supposedly trying to bring down Kate’s company. Where’s that storyline? It’s gone NOWHERE. There’s potential to resurrect that and do something with it. Not all drama on the show needs to center around a fanship. The Dimera/Kirakis feud was good business drama that didn’t involve a fanship and was really action-packed and suspenseful.

But yes, get on with your reply about fanship wars. Oops, Karen, I think your agenda is showing….See Karen, I’m the type of person who’ll tell you when you have toilet paper stuck to your shoe. LOL!

    Karen replied

You know me well Rock :-) My agenda is out for all to see. I’m not hiding it! By the way just checked, no toilet paper stuck to my shoe.

    D4ysfan replied

You don’t know that for sure. Everytime they’ve “come together,” there have been huge events going down at the same time. The pub shooting, for instance, when Johnny went missing.

    AllMyDays replied

And as far as the rape, they did indeed acknowledge and Sami said the slate was wiped clean. They never brought it up again because there was no point to bring it up when they talked and aired their feelings out to one another about it and choose to forgive and grow from that point on. Don’t be so bitter. Look at how nasty the character of Rafe is always talking to her, degrading her every chance he gets and how the character of Lucas has done FAR WORSE things to her over the years such as when he tried to kill her… slapped her… frame her for murder… Why do you people keep insisting on beating a dead horse with this crap?

    Reply

    D4ysfan replied

Sami degraded herself by all of the horrible choices she’s made. She didn’t need any help in that department. Rafe was just telling her how it is.

    Karen replied

Rafe was being a hypocrite like he always is. He wants Sami to be Carrie lite and just listen to is BS while she plays helpless housewife. That is what Sami Brady never was! He needs to figure out how he’s going to explain covering for his sisters crimes that led to two deaths. As for Lucas, he’s a loud mouth who suffers from little man syndrome. All he does is yell over Sami and Will, and other characters.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Karen, what crimes and what two deaths? I’m genuinely drawing a blank. Andrew died. Melanie didn’t; she’s in Europe with Carly. What’s the other death that’s even remotely related to Gabi’s stalker story?

I want to ask this for an honest reply, not trying to inflame anything, just curious. When Sami launches into screaming at Gabi and threatening her, isn’t it believable that Rafe would tell her to back off? I don’t think it would be believable if Rafe just let her continue yelling at his sister without saying something to her. Or is everything Rafe does “wrong” to EJ/Sami fans? I’ve seen people fault him for it, but also fault him for “choosing” Sami over Arianna in the same breath. He sides with family and he’s horrible; he doesn’t side with family and he’s horrible? I’m not sure what the logic is for that double-standard, other than a dislike for the character so all he does is bad? Again, just wanting that perspective of the EJ/Sam fanbase for clarity. (And no, not fanshipping Rafe/Sami at all. Just wanting to know what EJ/Sami fans really think about Rafe…besides the already-stated degrading attitude towards Sami.)

    Karen replied

Gabi is indirectly responsible for Madison and Jacks death. If Andrew was under the tunnel with Melanie, and flaming up his matches or lighter or whatever it was the tunnel wouldn’t have exploded, at least not then, if at all. Also I dislike Rafe because he thinks his crimes are justifiable and right. Even away from Sami I think think he’s a hypocrite, and a poor replacement for Bo Brady. He can defend his sister all he wants, but his attack on Wills character as though his sister is come innocent when he knows she hired a stalker to try and get a guy makes him a donkeys behind. And the actors bad acting isn’t helping either. By the way Rock, since you watch the show, I know you are well aware who died during the CH ;-)

    RockfordFosgate replied

Sorry, I was focusing on the stalker part of that story. To be fair, Nick did give Rafe a nudge towards the assumption that Will didn’t want the baby. Oh, wait…Nick flat out told Rafe that Will didn’t want the baby before Rafe attacked Will to Sami. Later Rafe talked to Will rather calmly and rationally. Sami can’t seem to do the same with Gabi though. While I don’t agree with everything Gabi has done, why should Sami be free to rant on about Gabi’s agenda (gah, Karen that word! LOL!) yet Rafe is criticized for doing that about Will? He’s also criticized for telling Sami to quit attacking his sister; but if he didn’t, he’d be criticized as a being a wuss for not standing up for his sister and standing up to Sami. The hypocrisy is blatant.

I love DAYS and I love EJami. I fully stand behind the tptb/writers/James and Ali for doing what they do with this story. They have come a long way. I find it absolutely deplorable and disgraceful that people and their agendas are coming out in the EJami storyline. We watch soaps for entertainment purposes, to escape from our real life, to enjoy a half hour/hour of our day. When people cannot seperate [fiction] from reality I have a an issue with that. If you don’t like what your watching, change the channel or turn the TV off. Nobody is telling you to watch. There are so many things that go on during a show that are beneath a moral compass, that only EJami seems to be “example” to be made of is absolutely ludicrous. People need to stop using their personal agendas for fictional characters on a fictional TV show and leave it alone. This is not real life. They need to support real life charities and organiziations in a more positive way and stop mudding the waters. That is a very dangerous thing to do.

I loved when EJ and Sami toasted to “new beginnings”. It’s what they both want and it’s what they’re getting. You can really tell that their relationship has evolved, it is different, they have grown up, there are no hidden agendas, no secrets, no lies, just unconditional love, acceptance and happiness. And we, their fans, have followed along on the crazy yet addictive roller coaster ride that is the EJami story, through a lot of twists and turns, with two badass characters who are impulsive, flawed and by no means perfect, yet perfect for each other. And now our couple is finally together! I am so happy to see EJami finally getting a chance.

I enjoyed the interview with Alison and James. As actors, they bring with a unique perspective on the fictional characters they portray and come to embody.
What makes Ejami intriguing is that they are unlike your garden variety soap couple. Apart from their undeniable physical chemistry, they seem to communicate on a entirely different medium than other characters. No matter where they are, no matter who else they’re with, and no matter what the circumstance, they inevitably circle back to each other. That’s why they belong together.

Blown away by the posters here that think a Soap Opera is reality? Hello you are so offended don’t tune in. The rest of us will bask in all the Ejami goodness finally after seven long years of our couple being thrown under the bus constantly. They have never been given a chance. Those of you haters dredging up what happened seven years ago need to get lost. You can’t handle that Ejami is creating not only buzz for the couple but for Days as well. Ali & james don’t write this show but they sure as hell give stellar performances when together. Go Ejami & Ali & James. WE love you.

I have been waiting for the Ejami love story to be told since 2006 so honestly I am still in shock. They aren’t your typical soap couple and that is what I love the most. They are a dysfunctional couple and it makes for compelling TV. I love their fights just as much as I love the “happy” moments. James Scott and Alison Sweeney have such an incredible sexual chemistry and I believe it has just gotten stronger over the last 7 years. Yes, 7 years I have waited for Ejami! I am so glad that I never gave up! They truly are something special and I can’t believe Days of Our Lives is finally telling this story.

The disfunctionality of their relationship is probably the most compelling thing about EJ and Sami as a couple. I have only been this passionate about two couples in over 45 years of watching soaps. The first was Luke and Laura, who I still adore together. EJami has the same dynamic for me. It’s obvious that Ali and James understand their characters and care about them.

WOW! Jamison is almost as charming and mesmerizing as they make EJami seem on Days!

I absolutely LOVE the writing they are getting now. Its classic soap romance and yet they fully embrace and acknowledged the sometimes rocky road that lead us to Ejami.

Both of them have evolved so much and its like we are seeing the ideal versions of EJ and Sami in a way that only the 2 of them can fully bring out, and fully appreciate in each other!

I do not feel like anything has been swept under the rug or ignored -its just that Sami and EJ have finally come full circle. They have been hurt and done a lot of hurting in their time on the show and I think age and loss has made them more fully appreciate the rare beauty that comes from their love for each other.

I think this was always where THEIR story was meant to go and the writers have done a good job weaving the many EJ/Sami/EJami story lines over the years into the tapestry of who they are now.

I am absolutely LOVING Days right now, mostly because of the epic Ejami writing but also because the whole show is tighter, much more witty and my word is it ever Romantic! Its what soap viewers watch this genre for in the first place and I am so glad that Days is embracing their roots and giving us a wink and a nod to the Super Couple era writing of ‘Days”gone by!

Thanks for the video and write up! They are fantastic and after 7 years of shipping this dynamic duo -I cannot wait to see where their real, honest to goodness love story goes from here!

The video was wonderful!! EJami is the hottest couple on daytime tv. The dynamic acting duo of James Scott and Alison Sweeney have brought back romance in the afternoon. I just can’t get enough. TPTB and NBCDays made a wise decision in focusing the attention on EJami. I choose to ignore some of the inappropriate comments that people post about the characters, Sami and EJ and the actors who portray them. I didn’t like the pairing of EJ/Nicole or Sami/Rafe, but I wasn’t compelled to post nasty comments on different websites about them. There is a line between what is real and what isn’t. Some people don’t seem to have the ability to distinguish it. This viewer is in support of EJami, and if and when Days goes off the air, EJami will forever be etched in my heart.

It seems like those two have so much fun at their jobs and you can tell they enjoy working together. They’re a great team and they make EJ and Sami a fantastic and unique pair as well as entertaining and sometimes complicated and controversial. EJ and Sami…saints they ain’t! It’s a testament to James and Ali’s talent as actors that fans and anti-fans get so worked up over EJ and Sami and EJami.

To people saying that we have an agenda because we don’t want to see rapist and victim, you’re wrong. I no longer care who that twit ends up with, and I no longer will tune in either. It’s not worth showing support for people that don’t care about rape victims that might be watching this show. This storyline is discourteous to them and women trapped in cycles of abuse. Enjoy your awful pairing, at the cost o losing ratings.

I’m narrowing it down to fanbase wars because that’s what it is. You guys saying otherwise means nada to me and anyone else here who support EJ and Sami. I mean, I have an issue with Lucas trying to kill Sami twice, but since I don’t care about Lumi I don’t harp on it. I’m sure you don’t “care” who Sami ends up with, until of course she’s interested in your guy. Then it will be “oh, well Sami has a lot to make up for”….Am I right, or am I right :-) Don’t answer that because I don’t really care.

    Nicky replied

I think some posters do have an agenda and that agenda is they want Sami with either Lucas or Rafe and they will high jack a really important issue to make their point. But this is fiction folks a soap opera. NOT REAL LIFE.

Soaps are not to be emulated in real life. People know that. They are simply fictional drama. They are Not an afternoon special.

If you want a show that does social issues correctly then DON’T Watch soaps watch Dr. Phil or Oprah!

    Leslie replied

I’m having a difficult time with many comments. In May of 2008, the decision was made by the TPTB/writing team to allow Sami and EJ to have a serious discussion about what happened on 12/29. Sami said “it wasn’t like that” and offered EJ a clean slate. Plot point writing can often paint characters into a corner. The creative team obviously had underestimated the appeal that James Scott would bring to EJ. The actor took what was likely supposed to be a short term stint on Days and turned the character into a favorite of many fans. Since EJ is still around, no doubt there are those who wish the 12/29 rape or agreement – your choice – had never been green lighted. That being the case, the couple was given a “do over”, and it not the first time it’s happened on Days. I won’t dredge up history because others have already gone to the trouble.

It’s been intimated that real life victims of rape and sexual abuse would find this storyline offensive. Since I fit into that group of people, I can assure you that’s not necessarily the case. With that said, I refuse to try to speak for others. However, I’m quite capable of separating what happened to me from what I see on Days, in movies, on other programs, or read in books. Romance novels often start out with the heroine “forced” into having sex with the man she eventually marries. This fictional scenario is not so unique that woman are immediately traumatized by it or find it off putting..

That bottom line is that Days and the actors have moved beyond the rape argument and have chosen the path to Sami and EJ. Until TPTB/writers decide the pull the pair apart, it is what it is. As someone who has waited a long time for Sami and EJ, I intend to enjoy the ride.

    RockfordFosgate replied

Leslie, I applaud you for that comment. It’s respectful to both sides of the discussion and puts the problem into the right perspective in terms of the show’s production. My hat’s off to you for it.

I will say that I do find this scenario, in any form of fiction or real-life, to be “off-putting”. That is why I speak out on it. It most definitely is not “unique” because it is still the lingering ideals from centuries’ worth of sexist and patriarchal ideology. Just because it can be found in other areas does not make it right.

I care about the situation, not what characters are involved. If it was Lucas that raped Sami, Rafe that raped Sami, Daniel that raped Jennifer, etc… I want to put my opinion out there so that TPTB might read it. I have written to them via snail mail, email, and called their hotline as well. I’m hoping they’re the ones going to be reading this. There’s no need for us to be at each others throats.

    D4ysfan replied

And keep in mind, it’s not ONLY the rape, it’s the 7-year history of abuse. There’s is nothing romantic about EJ and Sami’s history, which is what is so appalling and discourteous to victims that watch the show, one whom I know very well. If you knew someone that was hurt by this wouldn’t you be upset to?

    Karen replied

Most of the rape victims I know don’t watch soaps, and the ones that watch Days could careless about EJ and Sami because they know they’re watching a soap. I’m sorry the one’s you know are hurt by this. Maybe they should turn off Days since its upsetting and hurting them so much. Soaps is for entertainment! If you’re not entertained, then change the channel. But you know I still see your agenda, that much hasn’t changed ;-)

I’m sure some are, but I can personally assure you that not all are. I like to think that soap viewers are of above average intelligence and know that soaps do not equal real life. People don’t come back from the dead 9 times, don’t have kids showing up in spaceships because someone stole and egg & sperm, united them in a petri dish and had another woman be a surrogate mother, women don’t hold hands while they’re both being artificially inseminated, etc. etc. etc. But when it comes to Sami and EJ that intelligence supposedly evaporates.

I give women a lot more credit. I’m pretty sure they know the difference.

THIS IS ALL SO AMAZING!!!! FINALLY EJAMI!!!! I’M FINALLY RETURNING TO WATCHING DAYS AGAIN BECAUSE OF EJAMI TOGETHER!!!! LOVE EJ & SAMI TOGETHER!!!!! WONDERFUL & GREAT DECISION BY DAYS FINALLY!!!! THE #1 COUPLE SUPERCOUPLE EJAMI!!!!

I am just soooo thrilled to be watching Days of Our Lives again, all because of this fantastic couple!! EJ & SAMI!!! That clip was excellent and loved every moment of it! They are so GREAT together! I mean just absolutely fantastic together and chemistry together that has always just been flawlessly amazing and off the charts spectacular together!! WHAT A WONDERFUL SUPERCOUPLE EJ & SAMI ARE, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, AND ALWAYS WERE!!! SO GREAT TO FINALLY HAVE THE TWO THAT BELONG TOGETHER FINALLY TOGETHER!!!

EJ NEVER raped Sami….what a bunch bull…you know what! SHE WAS GIVEN A CHOICE! And she’s bad-butt Sami Brady…so she knew EXACTLY what she was doing and what was going on, and she made the choice to accept when she could have said no and could have stuck to that. Hell, she’s the commander’s daughter, and had just passed through a road block full of officers she could have got out of the car, let EJ have the car, and walked back to get help from the officers at the road block back then…but SHE chose not to and SHE chose to have EJ’s help in that matter back then. Please spare me the bullcrap with that same ol’, dusty, tired, and lame a… you know what excuse or postings. Don’t watch if you don’t like it, plain and simple, but the show is done and finished with it, so are the characters, so are the actors, hell…so is the audience. GROW-UP!!! Find another show and get over it! Move along, go away, whatever you like…but the show is DONE with it and DONE with you and your lame excuse and postings of that dusty old crap. This is a fictional show and people are talking about the show and the characters, this isn’t real life. And no one cares about your real-life spinning crap when people are talking about a fictional show with fictional characters. Hell, if that’s the case all the shows on television would have problems with their stories, their show, their characters, etc. because its not falling real-life…BOO-FREAKIN’-HOO!!! GROW UP AND GET A LIFE!!! AND SAVE ALL THAT MUMBO JUMBO FOR DR. PHIL OR OPRAH OR SOMETHING! This isn’t REAL-LIFE, its a soap opera. MOVE THE HELL ON, GROW UP, and/or GO AWAY! WHATEVER YOU LIKE!! But the show is and EVERYONE involved in this industry and viewers themselves are done and finished with it and are moving on with or without you. There are plenty of other things for you to do and watch. You got a problem with it, go see a therapist or something, if its just that devastating and such a distraught to you…but posting on a message board isn’t going to help you with your so-called real-life stuff towards a soap-opera…GROW UP!!! Some of you aren’t even mature enough to watch a soap-opera because obviously you don’t know how things work with it and don’t get that its NOT REAL LIFE!!! Some of you need to be put in a padded room on a psychiatric ward with the crap.

The show is moving on and will go on with or without you! And I couldn’t be more thrilled and happier to know that it is and that it doesn’t give a crap anymore about all of that tired and dusty old garbage and realize that this is a show and that TONS of people love this couple and are thrilled to see them! I don’t appreciate the fact that Rafe tries to steal everyone’s children, or that Nicole is a lying skank that stole, switched, and kidnapped children, or that people have died on this show…and just automatically come back to life…THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE!!! Or after all the crimes EVERYONE on this show has committed that they are ALL still walking around freely and not behind bars, etc. THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE!!! But this is NOT real life…it is a show, and it is what happens on a soap opera! So get over it, grow up, and get a life!

Find your local therapist to talk to or a psych ward to check in because a fictional show titled “Days of Our Lives” or Michael Fairman’s blog here, isn’t going to help your psychotic issues or your just utter distraught over this fictional couple and fictional characters, when that starts happening like with some of you posting its time to seek professional help and step away from television altogether. Days of Our Lives nor Michael Fairman can help you with your made-up crap and trying to spin it into real-life and all that mess. If it bothers you that much, leave! BYE!!! Because everyone else is moving on with or without you! AND IT IS FINALLY ABOUT TIME!!! THAT WE DID, THAT THE SHOW HAS, AND THAT THE SHOW REALIZES THAT AS WELL!!! And that the show has finally realized that it will no longer be held hostage to such pathetic crap and excuses and trying to use people’s real-life situations just to try to keep a fictional couple and fictional characters from being together and this fictional show from moving forward with what they know their viewers want to watch and see.

LOVE THE VIDEO!!! THANK YOU MICHAEL!!! AND SO GLAD JAMES & ALISON FINALLY GET TO SHOW AND DISCUSS EJAMI LOVING EACH OTHER, BEING TOGETHER FINALLY, AND MOVING ON AND FORWARD TOGETHER!!!! THEY ARE AMAZING TOGETHER!!! LOVE SUPERCOUPLE EJAMI, AND I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH EVERY-SINGLE-MOMENT OF THEM TOGETHER AND THEM MOVING ON TOGETHER TO THE FUTURE!!! THEY’VE ALWAYS BELONGED TOGETHER AND ITS EXCELLENT TO FINALLY SEE THIS GREAT SUPERCOUPLE FOR THE NEW GENERATION FINALLY TOGETHER AND THEIR STORY MOVING ON AND FORWARD…TOGETHER!!!!!!! YEA EJ & SAMI!!!!!

For people who profess you dont watch you seem to know every move. We know you arent happy well tough tootsies, not watching okay, other shows for you yo watch and shut up. You are not getting Lumi back which seems to be your agenda. Keep it up , you might even get the actor fired if the ptb get sick and tired of your ranting. Saw the promo of this last week during one of my Primetime shows and jumped right back on the Days bandwagon! I quit watching the show after High School but when I accidentally caught an episode of Sami and EJ back in 2007, I was hooked! Amazing chemistry! The actors and characters work extremely well together. I stopped watching Days again after I realized TPTB weren’t going to give EJAMI an equal chance but coming back to this love-fest 6 years later feels great! Their story may not be conventional or cliched, but since when do we rely on television for moral standards? It’s suppose to be entertainment! Just look at shows like Mad Men and Dexter; super-hits amongst viewers but guess what? They aren’t exactly about ponies and penguins.

If you can’t separate reel from REAL, then perhaps TV is not for you. And if you look to Soap Operas and fictional characters for moral guidance or leadership, then TV is definitely NOT for you. This isn’t Politics where people are looking at their Government to govern society and lead by example, it’s a sci-fi soap opera, for goodness sake!

The most concerning thing about some of these posters who are ranting from above their high horses is that they must be easily intimidated if they think any of these storylines or characters makes an iota of a difference in society or human behavior. What do they think is going to happen? Some guy will watch “EJ” raping Sami and decides to model himself after him? Doesn’t he have good role models in REAL LIFE to look up too? Give me a break.

You want to know a secret? They DIDN’T REALLY do these things. These characters didn’t rape, kidnap or attempt to murder anyone. The writer’s went “there” not James Scott or Alison Sweeney. It’s incredibly appalling to me to see the hate that is spewed on twitter and facebook over fictional characters on a fictional show. I mean your own coupling has had their history “white” washed as well because I know you’re either a Lumi, EJole, or Safe fan. It’s interesting you say the writers are white washing things, when Brady mentioned the Sydnapping, Sami shotting EJ, and Fake Rafe. Sounds to me like the writers are addressing EJami’s issues, but of course since they both have forgive them, all is good :-) I know you were dying to here Sami or Brady say EJ “raped” her, but sorry not dice. The issue is over and done. Buried 12 feet under and will not rise again. I’m sorry your mind is boggled. Here’s an idea, why not stop reading and commenting on pro EJami comments if they boggle that mind of yours ;-)

Can not get enough of both Ejami and Ali and James….love the dynamics between the two of them…both on and off screen. It’s magic in a bottle and TPTB have finally realized it and unleashed the magic….it’s been a long wait but well worth it. And to those of you who continue to harrass Ejamis, Ali and James….get a freakin life…when Safe was on screen at nauseum, I for one, did not stalk the actors, post vial cruel things on other website, didn’t pretend to be a fan simply to get on a Facebook page and post something negative. And I don’t know many Ejamis who do…we were more concerned with our couple, and not worried about what others were doing. Ejami, Ali and James are magical to watch and Ejamis have waited for 7 long years…its our turn, it’s Ejamis turn, and lets sit back and watch the ratings soar!!!!! Can’t wait for more

Yes, we do! Like I said, don’t poke the hornets nest. Lumi’s and EJoles are the most offensive of the fanbases in regards to Sami and EJ couplings. Don’t try to pretend otherwise. At least I can say most Safe fans try to stay out of the mud slinging. Lumi’s and EJoles have no problems bashing the fans and the actors on a daily basis. Also using Daystalk as some barometer is laughable. Those two feed on fanwars, and do their best to start them. I’m sure you enjoy DR though right, because at least there you can get away with bashing Ali and James like I’m sure you love ;-)

check out salemspectator . It is supposed to be a forum for all Days fans but if you are an ejami fan you are insulted and even blocked if the pro lumi administrator doesn’t like your support of ejami. Basically it has turned into an anti-ejami forum and should be advertised as such. It’s probably why very few actually post there anymore. I see that some of their members/reg anti-ejami posters are posting alot of Anti-ejami stuff here. You can spot them a mile away. It’s like they have the same talking points! It gets really old!

DR is basically a forum for bashing actors. You can’t bash a fanbase there BUT you can bash an actor who is just doing there job all you want infact it is encouraged to bash actors! Their favorite target at DR is AS.

Honestly, the only ones I’ve seen tossing personal insults against other posters are the EJ/Sami fans. Sorry if I have a different opinion, but it’s disingenuous to call that an insult.

    Reply

    Karen replied

Yeah, no! Insults are going both ways. This is typical of Lumi, EJole, and Safe fans. Once they are called out for their actions they start spewing how they’re being bullied, and insulted. Please, no one here but the obvious posters are buying that. Like I’ve said, posters who hate EJami seem to find their way to an article about EJami being a love story, and they complain when posters call them on their actions and agendas. I get that your intent was to drown out positive EJami comments with the usual “rape” propaganda, but obviously that wasn’t going to fly with EJami fans and you are well aware of it.

    D4ysfan replied

Sorry, but you have no idea who I am or am not fan of, which is quite clear as I keep telling you that I don’t care who Sami is with, as long as it’s not her rapist who has done nothing to prove he has changed. Why can’t you listen to Mr. Fairman and keep this discussion civil. All the accusations are really inappropriate. Propaganda denotes that something is a lie. EJ did Rape Sami and there has been no long road to redemption that this type of situation requires for a fiction. People have feelings you know…

    Karen replied

Yes, people have feelings and opinions. And my opinion still stands that people screaming “rape” is agenda based. You’re right I don’t know you personally, but I can base my feelings and opinions on what you post here and other places ;-) Also, I didn’t see it as rape as I’ve said many times. But I can understand why others do, while I don’t. I can keep the conversation civil, but it’s obvious you’re here to spew your hate, so I’ll happily call you on your agenda. Isn’t it interesting that you can’t ignore my opinion, state your opinion, and go. But you can’t do that because you can’t help but argue your agenda. Also me calling it an agenda, Not propaganda, isn’t about a lie, it’s the fact you have a key point that you are glad to push because you feel it helps in your attempts of getting the results you want. Which I assume is Sami not being with EJ, but instead with the guy you want her with, or if your an EJole, freeing him up for Nicole. Let’s try something, if you don’t have an agenda, then ignore my post ;-)

    D4ysfan replied

I know you know it was rape and that it is an inappropriate storyline to tell by whitewashing and not addressing the rape. If you really believe that it wasn’t rape, then ignore my post; but I know that you know it was rape. You actually know it’s rape, but you’re purposely making this a merry-go-round to push your agenda of keeping your couple no matter who gets upset by the media glorifying rape. But, if you don’t think it was rape, then ignore this post. See how that works?

    D4ysfan replied

And again you’re making false accusations and misrepresenting me, or you have me mixed up with someone else, because I’ve never been a strong backing for ANY couple. I may have an opinion here and there who I think is better for whoever, but in all honesty I couldn’t care less. I didn’t watch Days, the only daytime soap I’ve ever watched, for the couples. If I wanted to watch couples, I’d watch something with better writing than a soap. I watched it for the campiness. Please, if you know my post history so well from other places, put in a link where I’m just head over heals in love with ANY couple. You can’t because it doesn’t exist. This is my last post, I won’t be a part of this merry-go-round of misrepresentation anymore. Just, want to say that everything you’re saying about me having an agenda for Sami to end up with who I want is exactly what you’re doing. Not I. Good day.

    Karen replied

I made my point ;-) By the way, you’re not very clever. Silly Rabbit, you can’t turn my tricks on me. By the way it wasn’t rape, but if you want to believe that I believe that you believe that I know you believe it’s rape then ok :-)

They work so well together, whether fighting or loving they are never dull or boring. I cant wait for the show to be on . Nothing about lumi, Austin interested me and dear God Safe was worse than them so for now I’m going to sit back and enjoy the ride, hopefully its a long ride. For people with issues sorry for your loss. I might add besides Ejami I really like Sonny and Will.

I agree with everything you said. EJ and Sami don’t deny that they’ve done bad things to each other in the past. They’ve forgiven each other and moved on and that’s huge of them to do knowing their history. They’ve learned from the past and don’t want to hurt each other anymore. They just want to love each other. It’s great to see how far they’ve come! I’m looking forward to a united badass EJami, who know each other inside and out, who understand, accept, love and trust each other completely, and will defend each other to anyone who tries to mess with them. Salem better watch out, lol.

I could not be any more pleased with Days of our Lives right now! As a fan for the past 18 years, from the moment James Scott stepped onto the scene it was like a whole new ballgame. He just fit right in. Not to mention the complexities of EJ that he plays so well, whether he’s being bad, good, emotional, tormented, angry, or in love, he really brings his A game every single time. If it had been any other person playing this role, it just would not be the same. It’s like he’s always been here. The character of Sami just brings it all out of him. People keep saying how disgusting the pairing is because of the rape. This WAS addressed (and my favorite scene ever) and they chose to forgive and grow from it. Every single thing that HE has done to her has been in response to what SHE has done to him. People keep saying that they are re-writing their history now… No they absolutely are not. Even when they hated each other, you can clearly see the underlying feelings between the two. I don’t understand how people can rag on them, but have no problem rooting for Rafe (gotta have EJ’s kids to him self and doesn’t give a crap about Alli, only EJ’s kids.. THEY ARE NOT YOUR CHILDREN!.. I mean let’s not forget that he did not know nor never met this man the first time, yet he decides he’s going to be his babies father, have that baby die and try to degrade Sami when she wanted to come clean to EJ about it, rub it in the man’s face that he never got a second with the child they believed was his, and then went and did the exact same thing AGAIN. The truth is that Sami hid the pregnancy because she was jealous of Nicole being pregnant when in reality she had no reason to be, and Nicole hid her pregnancy to spite EJ because of Sami. Let’s not forget that he was making out with his wife’s SISTER even before he knew about Sami and EJ hooking up and once he got involved with Carrie couldn’t give a single crap about Sami until Carrie left town. Then to top it off he knows that his sister is a psychopath, knows what she did, and as a cop “protects” her instead of doing his job. Not to mention the way that he, as well as Lucas, and every other guy she was with before constantly degrade her and make her feel like she is not good enough just being herself.) Lucas (Who framed her for murder and almost let her get executed, tried to actually kill her, let his mother go after her numerous times, also wanted her sister over her, i can go on and on once again. Stop writing him as a bitter jerk who’s only SL is to show up and throw a hissy fit temper tantrum with every character that he interacts with, give him a new, permanent girl, and let him be happy just for once without being involved with Sami. They were cute together when they were kids, but they grew up and it just wore off.) And the most hypocritical ones, her own family. They have always treated her like she was not good enough because she was not like Carrie. I’m not saying the crap she’s done is right, but when her family is constantly holding her in comparison to Ms. Perfect Carrie (who can’t stay faithful to save her life), how could Sami have not acted out? EJ and Sami make more sense to me than any other pairing that’s been on the show for the past 7 years. She finally decided that it just doesn’t matter who anyone wants her to be, or what they think of her. She’s finally being honest to herself about why no matter the circumstances, she could never really let him go: Because she is in love with him. With him she can really be every part of her true self without having judgement from him, without letting him down, without all of the other things and other people getting in their way. And in return he has finally seen that he doesn’t need to trick her or lie to be with her, just be open and patient which he is now doing. They were tormented by what should never be (Brady/DiMera) and tormented so much with each other because there was something on a whole different level of real for both of them with each other. So please, if you don’t like it, suck it up like we’ve had to do for years because the romance and love and family of Ejami is here and it isn’t going anywhere for a long, LONG time. End rant.

Firstly Thank You Michael for posting this video of Alison & James who individually and together are just wondeful actors and abviously enjoy working with each other.

I am an International viewer and basically was the GA..I loved to Hate Samantha however most times I felt pity for her she was always second choice and that included LUCAS.I also got tired of Marlena treating her as a lost cause.

Then after a absence of watching DAYS OF OUR LIVES i tuned in to watch Sami engaged to Austin, Carrie with Lucas and thought WHEN is this storyline EVER GOING TO CHANGE please GIVE someone to LOVE SAMI FOR SAMI..NO JOKE EJ appeared. What I didn’t expect was that EJ and Sami I fell IN LOVE WITH THEM..DAYS was selling me a LOVE STORY James & Ali had the best natural chemistry I had ever seen and even topped my love for BO & HOPE. i was buying into it..HE understood her, he got her, He was gorgeous could have any woman but wanted HER..THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED to SAMI.. Then after a while it was revealed he was Stefano’s son, I screamed Nooo..however it made this pairing even more entertaining Then that night with the Bargaining HAPPENED YES Bargain Sami made the choice that night to Save lucas’s Life..I never ever saw SAMI being scared of EJ after that scene, she was no wallflower..

It was Lucas who called it RAPE sami just went along with it..THIS WAS DEALT with by the writers..EJ apologised YES..ITS THERE ON FILM..We moved on..What I expected was a LOVE STORY however that never arised..THERE WERE ALWAYS WONDERFUL moments between them BUT NEVER A STORY..]2010 (my timeline 2011) I had no concept of fanbases, didn’t tweet nothing..I screamed when Sami shoot EJ..turned off my TV..AND always believed that AS LONG AS EJ AND SAMI were still breathing EJAMI would happen..I AM soo Happy I never GAVE UP thanks to a wonder FANBASE I WAS LED TO FORBIDDEN LOVE EJAMI and the wonder fans there.

To cut myself short before I ramble on and ON..I am THRILLED, HAPPY, EMOTIONAL RELIEVED that I will see SAMI AND EJ LOVING EACH OTHER. They deserved their story TOLD it just took too LONG GETTING HERE BUT WE ARE HERE.

As for the haters..DO WHAT I DID FF..I am enjoying DAYS as a WHOLE (and watch on YT) also soon on my TV SCREEN I WILL WITNESS the Grief SEX again..I CANT WAIT..

    GO EJAMI..2013 AND BEYOND.

Count me in as a viewer for more than 30 years. I have enjoyed Samantha Brady throughout all her endeavors. She is a interesting character to love and hate at the same time! When Sami and Lucas got together it was cute, but I never really felt that he loved her for being herself. He always loved her sister, Carrie. I enjoyed Carrie and Lucas together. I also enjoyed Carrie with Austin at times and I really enjoyed her with Mike. I had big hopes that Mike and Carrie would return together. For me, Sami became Samantha in all her glory when she met EJ Dimera. He loved her for who she really is. He never tried to change her. He was the first person who really loved Samantha and not her sister, Carrie. I fell in love with EJ ad Samantha from that point and I just couldn’t stand Sami with anyone else. I could maybe have accepted her ride off into the unknown with Lucas, but for me, I want to watch the real Sami Brady and that is who she is with EJ Dimera. No more substitutes! I love my Samantha Brady! I love the real chemistry between these two characters and just the love dynamic between them. They are both gray characters and that is what I love the most about them. Neither are flawless and that is what they do best! Keep EJAMI on my screen and you have one very happy viewer! EJAMI have so much potential and so much chemistry!!!! I am loving their relationship right now. Bring on the adventures for these two to tackle together! I love EJAMI!!!!!

It makes me sick to see all these haters saying these things and honestly it really doesn’t matter if they stop watching the show, I mean GOOD RIDDANCE! I could not stand watching Rafe and Sami, Lucas and Sami, EJ and Nicole, and I had to suffer through those couples but never once did I bad mouth any of them or threaten to stop watching the show, etc. I mean, geez. I feel like I’m listening to a bunch of middle schoolers. Are we adults or not? And really, I don’t like to hate anyone or anything because hate is a strong word, but honestly it’s making me so irritated when people bring up the so called “rape” and then start talking about real rape victims and so on and so forth. Really? The two things are just not related at all. It’s a soap, storylines change and evolve all the time. Get over it. Seriously. I’m so tired of hearing it.

There is just something magical about EJami, I agree, whether they’re fighting or loving. So much spark, so much passion, and so much life brought to these characters by James and Ali. The fireworks are always there. And the past two weeks have been really great, watching the fireworks happen from them being consumed by love for one another. How great is it that they still can’t keep their hands off each other, and even moreso now that they are 100% committed to each other. EJami have a crazy past, but they are building a strong relationship going forward based on honesty, trust, love, respect. They know it’s necessary, they’ve learned from the past, they’ve grown as individuals, and they are committed to not messing things up with each other. When they said, “I trust you,” to each other, that was such a brilliant move on the writers’ part. Trust is just as important as love to EJami. It means so much. EJami are in love and I can’t get enough.

This is who EJ is when he’s with Sami. She has always inspired him to be the better man, the man she danced with on the pier.

Most of the hateful acts Sami & EJ commited against each other was due to a non stop cycle of revenge. EJ has finally realized that didn’t get him what his heart desired, the love of his life. So he chose to take Lexie’s advice and just be around Sami.

When Rafe told him that he and Sami were going to get back together, you could see that EJ was done. If Rafe is who Sami wanted he was going to walk away, not be the second choice and that’s when Sami did something amazing. She was totally and completely honest with EJ, not knowing that EJ already knew.

EJ could have made her beg or grovel and then take his pride and walk out the door, but that wouldn’t make him happy. The man simply loves the woman in front of him. Their tumultuous past, washed away because of the love they have for each other.

this video and the comments after made me really sit down and think about why I love Ej and Sami so much. About the time that EJ ‘s character began to really heat up the show I was in high school and we had to read Wuthering Heights. Now at first I just couldn’t get into the book probably because it felt a bit weird and unrelateable ,then I asked my mom about it ( a DOOL addict) and she said something like ,oh Ej and Sami are just the modern “Heathcliff and Cathy”. Thats when I really started paying attention to the soap and the book just to see if it was true and I definitely see the similarities. Heathcliff is the sexy anti-hero prone to domestic violence ,kidnapping and other mad bad behaviour but that year every girl in my class swooned over him and Cathy is a selfish wild character trying to reform and wished they could have had a happier ending. To be honest every time I see these two ,I feel like I’m in high school again wishing that Heathcliff and Cathy could have had a happy ending and this is from someone who never followed soaps before EJ DiMera came on the scene- just never thought DOOL was capable of coming up with a complex and layered romance and I love every scene they share!

EAJMI work so much better when they are together, Sami brings out the best in EJ making him try to be a better man & EJ gives Sami the unconditional love she so finally deserves after all these years. I so want to see her get her happily ever after with EJ as they do have a family together. I want her to be with the man who is the father to most of her childrennot with someone who doens’ have that kind of connection. I can’t wait to see the trouble they will get in together and hope that it DAYS finally lets Sami stop fighting her love for this man I feel that she is destined to be with happily ever after! It would be the only way I could think of that would be piggybacking. I just searched through every Ejami hashtagged tweet on 2/14 and only 2 had the billionrising hashtag added and one of those was someone hating on Ejami and commenting on the irony of a “rape” couple trending with onebillionrising. So to those of you who said we piggybacked I have one question for you, huh? I do know that there was a certain fanbase who talked about piggybacking the onebillionrising to bring attention to the rape is not romance nonsense, but I assure you, that was not Ejami fans lol

Oh and I just wanted to add, I am one of the few Ejami fans who DO think it was rape. Sami has forgiven AND forgotten, so have I. Just like she forgave him for Rafe 2 and for kidnapping Sydney and he has forgiven her for trying to kill him. The ongoing theme of days of our lives and many other shows has been “redemption through love”
Many other heros and heroines have done awful things and have been redeemed. Jack raped Kayla, but there are few who criticized when he ended up with Jennifer. Sami raped Austin, yet she is one of the most popular characters on the show. “a rapist shouldn’t end up with their victim?” Why? What difference does it make who they find happiness with? Whether EJ ends up happily ever after with Nicole, Sami, Taylor, it doesn’t change what he once did. What matters is how he behaves now. As I said, Sami has forgiven him for everything. That’s enough for me.

People are focusing on the past too much when it comes to the histories of the couples. What is done, is done. What worry about is the current state of the show. The storylines are awful, and the writing really is so boring. I would rather some my day bird watching or shopping with my annoying SIL, then watch the show. Now, that’s pretty bad.

Thanks for posting the video! What a fun interview with AS and JS! I really enjoyed it.

First off, the storyline written by the current writers, has sucked the life completely out of EJ’s character. I am a huge EJ fan and JS too, but the writing for him has gone down the tubes. The EJ I see playing out is a ‘hero’, more along the lines of Bo Brady or Rafe Hernandez, and that is now who the real ‘EJ DiMera’ is. He is a villain, a bad boy, and a manipulating maniac. He has been reduced to being the president of a comestics company, who spends his days, trying out lipstick and eyeshadow samples for advertising campaigns, and being a ‘good guy’ to Sami. Where is the real EJ? I miss the grey, bad EJ who was manipulating Will, who had clashes with his loveable, yet sinister father Stefano, who wrecked havoc all over Salem, the man people feared, yet the few tender moments he had when he was spending time with his children, or his sister Lexie or with the woman he loves. I want the old EJ back. I am crossing my fingers when Stefano comes to town, he will re-appear. EJ has gone too soft, he’s boring. This really has nothing to with Sami IMO. It’s more the reality of how the writers are not writing EJ for who he is, and what he stands for.

Second, the show is a complete mess. All the current storylines and couples are boring. Danifer is suffocating to watch. It is so annoying they brought back a great, veteran character like Chloe Lane, and have her as an interloper to promote the most boring couple in all of Days’ history, Daniel and Jennifer. Jennifer is a nosy busybody who spends her days interfering in the parental relationship between Parker and his parents, and although she is a mother herself, she is jealous and upset at how her relationship with Daniel is going to be affected due to Parker. This is the same woman who has yet to grieve for her deceased husband. She was also a busybody when Nicole was pregnant. Jennifer Horton is being written completely out of character. She is not catty or insecure. She’s nice and wholesome.

Third, the whole baby custody storyline is boring. First off, Nick’s homophobic slurs are a big turn-off, and his obsession over claiming a baby that wasn’t his, is a repeated storyline, aka Rafe Hernandez, twice now. Second, Gabi’s character just doesn’t have the sparkle to pull off being the mother of this baby. She’s lack luster. Third, Lucas and Sami should be working together to help Will gain custody of the baby, not EJ and Sami. Lucas has no scenes at all. I wish Gabi would just lose the baby, and the show would dispose of characters who are wasting airtime, and move on. The baby will probably not be born until the Spring, so watching another three months of this, is going to make the ratings go down. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is sick of baby and paternity storylines. Since Nicole had to lose her baby unforunately, why do we have to suffer through another baby paternity story? Nobody really wants to see this, do they?

Last, since those make up the three major storylines on the show right now, I am surprised people still tune in. I don’t. It’s so boring. Being back Eric Brady was exciting, but Nicole hasn’t even derobed him yet. It’s taking too long. Also, I didn’t mind Rafe and Kate hooking up, but that only led to them yelling at Nick Fallon, about Will not losing custody of his daughter. BORING!! And lastly, I love Bristen. Damn, Kristen is the only bright spot of Days lately, besides the occassionl phone calls from Stefano, and Kate being on.

I give the actors credit for trying hard to squeeze out these awful, boring storylines. I am surprised people are tuning in. I know people are bickering on here about couples, but I think fans could come together, even if their couple is together right now, which is great for you in a good way, that the rest of the show is so fustrating and boring to watch. Days needs to make major changes, and fast. Fire the dead-beat characters, bring back some legacy characters, and push some new, interesting characters into the show. Create storylines that are actually filled with romance, mystery, suspense, love, family, friends, and passion. Write characters the way they really are. If you don’t, I can guarantee more people will tune out.

    WOW!

I have been reading some interesting stuff! Is Days doing their version of “50 shades of Grey” with this coupling of EJ and Sami?

I have not read “50 Shades of Grey” but is EJ set out to sexually tease/please Sami over and over and over again – all the way to the altar perhaps?

Days I think is pushing the envelop – keeping the censor working overtime with these two. Did they have to shoot their love scene in the dark to get past the censors?

I been trying to read all these posts, but dang there are a lot them to read. I am getting the impression there are three main threads going- those who love the characters Sami and EJ together, those who hate this couple together and the third one being a discussion on whether shows that depict sexual violence against women have a moral obligation not to do so in a frivolous manner that ends up perpetuating or condoning attitudes that promote sexual violence against women.

As for Sami and EJ- it was an unfortunate lack of insight on Days writers in the past not to see the chemistry between these two actors and write a storyline that could have been more Romeo and Juliet – starcrossed lovers from two sides of a warring family. Instead Days did what Days always do- they wrote an outlandish plot driven storyline that revolt around totally unrealistic situations that no real couple would ever face. So, now they are in a corner and they did their best to redeem this couple so they can work – some don’t think it was enough, others are happy with it- . Personally, I like them better when they had this hate/lust thing going- but if they want to go down the more traditional romance route, with hearts and flowers, moon and June- I will watch it, but it doesn’t quite seem like Sami and EJ to me.

But in the end a lot of this debate would not exist if soaps would stop using rape as a plot device or a gimmick for quick ratings. Sexual assault in all its various forms is a serious issue and popular culture can and does influences attitudes and myths around it. Yes, it is fiction- but using sexual assault in a story line should be done responsibly and with forethought, to show the true ramifications of such an act and there is nothing wrong with advocating such changes in all media forms including soaps.

However, this website is meant to be a place where fans can express their joys or sorrows over what is happening on the soaps, not a serious discussion board for social change. Days should be a more responsible in their choices at time, but they have a rep for doing over top stunts that one has to take it all with a bit of humor, otherwise it would drive you nuts. Ejami fans can’t undo what some writers did in the past, and I do believe Days has done what they could redeem the situation- so ejami fans can have their day in the sun too. But it would be nice in the future writers took a longer view approach to see how their decisions today might affect the storyline in a year or two.

It’s great to see the networks and production companies supporting soaps again. The whole genre feels reinvigorated compared to where it was last year.

Alison Sweeney and James Scott are so charming in this video. It’s almost worth the wait to hear Ali (and thus Sony!) give a shout out to the Ejami fans.

Are soaps finally getting social media savvy? ;-)

FINALLY EJAMI!!! Kudos to Days and the current writing team for penning this so beautifully. Knowing Ej and Sami’s history is as rich as it is, makes this love all the more special.

Years ago I watched. passions but one day I had enough. Turned off the TV, stopped recording it, stopped reading spoilers, recaps or even stories about cast memers. I was done, never went back or regretted my move. There comes a time to just stop and I would suggestthat for those who are not happy with the stow.
Bryan sent out a tweet to call of the dogs. His work is tiredof hearing how he needs work. We tried and failed mow its time to stop. Wise words from this nice man.

Find something else to watch. Or do. With some it sounds like your homework. Days is a business. And tptb will change directions when necessary. I love the show, love Ejami. Great video and most kind og Michael to air it.

General Hospital benefited greatly by getting rid of Jason Morgan, a character that hogged the air for far too long and stifled the whole show. EJ does the exact same thing on Days and it’s time for him to go and never, ever come back. And while they’re at it, they can put Sami in a 6 month coma. We all need the break.
“EJAMI” will be the death of Days if they’re allowed to continue.

I don’t know that GH got rid of Jason Morgan. They would have been happy to keep SB had they been able to agree on a number.

Dear soapgods please let Ejami continue forever, they. Are the best part of watching. Days. I love Bryan Datillo’s. Tweet asking to calling off the dogs. How clever, gentlemanlike not using the feminine form of this animal.

Again such a fun interview, a treat watching them both on and off the screen.

I am very happy that Days is finally giving EJ & Sami a real chance. They have so much potential & the possibilities are limitless. James Scott & Alison Sweeney have the most charismatic chemistry I’ve ever seen. I am glad to see TPTB capitalize on one of their best assets. James & Ali (as well as the characters they portray) bring out the best in each other & I’ve been pulling for EJami to be together from the first moment I saw them. They are unique and compelling, they bring a spark to each other & to the show.

The only thing more that i could hope for besides what we are now getting for Ejami is if they start to scheme.. But this time together!! I would love to see them hiding in the bushes spying or something. I LOVE the banter between the two, always have! Please don’t let us down again! I used to like GG on Passions, but the more i see him on Days, the more i just don’t find his acting appealing. I didn’t notice it back then, but seeing his lack of expressions and very vague emotions, he never changes. He doesn’t get into the character at all. It’s like the same ole humdrum blah every scene… every day… The only time that I do see any type of sparkle in his eyes is when he shares scenes with Nicole. I could totally start to root for him if that pairing would occur, but I’d rather see where the storyline of her and Eric are heading. I was a big fan of those two back in the day, when she wasn’t quite so horrible and the pent up tension is actually making me like her again. Kudos to James Scott, you are just simply amazing. I think i’ll need to find myself a handsome, charming British man :)

I had lost my enthusiasm for soaps the last few years as they were beyond ridiculous and predictable. But I rekindled with DOOL because of that James Scott…a remarkable actor…mesmerizes me…how long can they keep him there to make the show so captivating? And keeping Sammy with him is imperative..the chemistry is oozing and keeps us, the audience, glued to the screen daily. ..get rid of Chloe..pretty boring and stupid storyline there, unfortunately..I fast forward through her parts….. Otherwise, DOOL is a winner….

Loving every second of Ejami on my screen….. BUT have to say it has been less and less over the last few weeks. A minute or two once or twice a week is NOT ENOUGH. Come on Days… you can do better than that!
Have to say I really do think we are in a NEW ERA also. I suppose the 50 Shades of Greys popularity is testimony to that. While I believe soaps will always have a place for good vs evil characters I do feel the grey characters appeal is growing more and more. The general audience love the idea of more complex characters who are not perfect and who struggle with making right and wrong choices in life. It also appeals to the audience when we see them acknowledge their mistakes and try to make amends for them. Its a redeemable quality and we like it. Hence Sami, EJ and Ejamis popularity. They’ve had their ups and downs but always had a huge following barracking for them, believing in them and hoping for them. Glad they and we are getting a chance to see their story “being together” as a couple and family finally being told. Go Ejami and Ejamily.
PS: Another example of a grey couple who is very popular with the viewing audience would have to be Adam and Sharon from Y & R.
