This Thursday, February 11th, The Young and the Restless, Kate Linder will be hosting Emerging Magazine’s First Annual Celebrity Charity Gala to benefit The ALS Association of Greater Los Angeles at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, 225 North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. Many of Kate’s Y&R co-stars will be in attendance. Daytime Confidential caught up with the busy actress/flight attendant/humanitarian to get some insight on Kate’s dedication to the fight against ALS and what’s next for Esther Valentine in Genoa City. Here are some excerpts!
Linder on the her involvement with ALS: “I had heard of ALS and knew that Michael Zaslow of Guiding Light had the disease. When we learned that my brother-in-law Scott was diagnosed with ALS, my husband and I decided to commit to working for a cure. Over the past five years, our commitment has only grown stronger as we meet more ALS patients and families. I have had the fortunate opportunity of becoming the celebrity spokesperson for The ALS Association for the past five years and participating in national activities including testifying in Congress and lobbying on their behalf during The ALS Association’s annual advocacy days each May. We also do fundraising for various chapters throughout the United States including the Walk to D’Feet ALS events.”
Linder on how she got involved in the gala: I met Stefan dubois, Managing Director of Emerging Magazine and he was in the process of launching a charity event. I told him about the horrific disease, ALS and he immediately wanted to get involved. This will become an annual event and I am very excited that we were able to join forces. He and his wife are amazing individuals.
Linder on Esther’s love life in Genoa City: “ Of course Esther would love to meet a man that is not a cad. Do you know of anyone?”
