I don’t watch tv for talk or reality, I watch it to escape. This will not be on my viewing schedule. The only show I record during the day is General Hospital. My nights are filled with fun and fantasy – Burn Notice, Dallas, Bones, Once Upon A Time, Castle, Greys Anatomy, Psych, Grimm and Blue Bloods. If I want reality, I can just look around, and if I want talk, I’ll call a friend.

Sorry Katie but you backed up the wrong network. ABCD lost a tremendous ammount of loyal viewers by removeing 2..NOT 1 but 2 soaps in 1 day. Without the soaps or scripted drama’s or seriels …what ever the world want to call them but they are called soaps to us LOYAL viewers you will not succeed. Even with GH as your lead in your not getting us viewers. Go talk to your bosses and ask them to make it right by us and then well concider your talk show.

I hope I helped you. Remember a while back we were discussing that the last award given out won’t be to the soap? If I remember correctly it will be best talk show, Like who cares who wins that? I don’t.

GENERAL HOSPITAL WITH THE ADDED CHARACTERS FROM OLTL

But September is right around the corner. :( What’s going to happen to GH? I just lost OLTL, and can’t lose another show in the same year!

The information given, and hopefully still holds true is that GH will be moved to 2pm, and will be the lead-in for Katie’s show.

    Christine replied

That’s what I am hearing too. I am also hearing that is why there are going to be FIXED OLTL sets on GH come this September when GH takes OLTL’s old time slot.

We GH viewers need to stick together and help GH meet their numbers. Nothing is guaranteed.

    Bonnie replied

Yes, this is true, GH will be on at 2:00 EST

    BarbJ replied

I never heard that GH was moving to 2 PM. Is that just an assumption? Or was it officially announced??

    Elhu replied

It was officially announced by ABC Daytime in early April (maybe 10 or 11), the same time that they announced the cancellation of The Revolution (hooray)!!! So far, guaranteed 1 year, now we have to keep watching and get more viewers to watch, so we can go beyond GH’s 50th year!!!!!!

    barbara t replied

That’s what we all thought would happen but abc is now putting good afternoon america starting july 9 for 9 weeks if it does ok in the ratings they are going to keep it stupid katie couric starts in September, where does general hospital go? Barb j and heather are right abc never announced general hospital would be moved to 2 o’clock, abc is playing head games with the soap fans they never stopped playing that’s why I continued to boycott their pathetic network and only watch general hospital we have to continue to sink that new news show they replaced the revolution with.

    Heather replied

BarbJ is right. ABC never said that GH was moving to the 2PM slot. People are just assuming that because that’s pretty much the only slot that is available for GH. But ABC never made any announcement at all about the future of GH ever since The Revolution got cancelled.

I think ABC is waiting to see how GAA performs this summer before making a decision about GH whether it be positive or negative.

    Reply

    barbara t replied

That’s right abc never said general hospital would go to the 2 o’clock hour, that sweeney person said that what ever show was better in the ratings that was the show that would stay,The revolution was canceled so general hospital should get the 2 o’clock spot but abc/disney doesn’t want to commit to general hospital, If they were really interested in keeping it they would have renewed for longer then 1 year, that really means 6 months. If they announce gh is canceled now they know the ratings will go down, I believe abc is still playing head games with the soap fans. Remember Katie couric said she would like general hospital as her lead in so we all thought that general hospital would go on at two. I can’t believe we are still discussing this, we still don’t know if we will continue to have general hospital. This is why I want nothing to do with that network, I watch general hospital then abc gets turned off. those Idiots played enough with my feelings they took away precious soaps and after loosing one life to live and all my children they continue to mess even more with the soap fans, come out and tell us one way or the other, either way I will never get sucked into their awful network again, after close to 50 years of being a abc fan daytime and prime time I am done.

    BarbJ replied

As soon as I heard that ABC was replacing The Revulsion with GMA I realized that ABC has no intention of keeping GH. If GMA does well…. That’s the end of the ABC soaps. I will never watch ABC again…….

They lied, that woman lied, she said let the best show win and it did we boycotted the revolution and we won well soap fans here we go again abc did not fool me, I knew general hospital wouldn’t be safe for long but we have to kill this good afternoon garbage like we killed the revolution or it’s all over for our last soap on abc the sleazy network unless somehow they have a extra hour to keep it on, I think they kept general hospital for something to have some kind of ratings for the summer then rip it out from under us again I could be wrong but I say Continue with the boycott because it ain’t over yet.

I think you are exactly right. ABC would gladly substitute the cheaper GAA for GH if GAA’s ratings were adequate, but they won’t be. Nobody is interested in the content of GAA that it will crash and burn like The Revolution.

The same is true of Katie. People are sick to death of talk shows. Viewers don’t care about production cost cutting, executive bonuses, and shareholder profits. Viewers want scripted entertainment, not faked reality (as Mary said above).

Katie’s promo shows nothing but her socializing with what appear to be average people in New York. There is nothing here to suggest a talk show with her will be anything special. I am grateful to Katie for her interview of Palin, which I thought was revealing, but I can’t stand the thought of anymore talk shows. I don’t care who is hosting them.

    Christine replied

barbara t and david you both are RIGHT. I have heard about this, let’s call it a TROJAN HORSE, through spoiler and insider forums. I have been on edge since.

We can’t let this GMA in the Afternoon Trojan Horse sneak in. We can’t watch ANYTHING but GH. Let our sets go black until GH is on. That will show them. Spread the word!

GH is only safe as long as they meet their numbers and get the demographic the network wants … whatever that is. They have to do this week to week. So don’t drop off because something is boring you. Just put the set on and leave the room if you don’t like a certain storyline or something. We can’t abandon GH for one second or it will be gone!

  20. Anne says:

Like Katie, but hate the idea of this show. Her smile is too forced in this promo–I predict there will be little that’s new– just more celebrity gossip, people who have already been on countless other shows plugging their products, meaningless, shallow talk about stupid topics.

From what little I see by accident, it seems that all the talking heads spend a lot of time on each other’s shows. Just a loop of self-referential blather.

I recently witnessed about 5 minutes of The Talk before I could get away, and I couldn’t believe the stupidity of it all. They took off ATWT for this. It still stings a couple of years later.

We don’t want talk/entertainment/reality on daytime! We the loyal viewers want our Soaps aks scripted dramas not more self help, diet, book promo’s etc. Why doesn’t this network care about what viewers want? What does it take to get through to the powers that be? Will they understand when there are very few if any viewers left!! Their network has lost millions of viewers already! We the faithful audience of millions were not retrained to watch their less expensive programming like they thought! We are grown people and we know what we want! That will surely go down as one of the biggest mistakes a television network has ever made! They are too egotistical to admit they made a gigantic mistake. If you do not want to be in the Soap aka scripted drama business release the rights to them. You could go into a partnership with someone that does want to do the scripted drama genre. That would make alot of people happy and give us a short release from the reality of real world dramas we face. You would probably gain back many of the loya; viewers you had for 20, 30. or even 40 plus years. Thank You Michael Fairman for this article for us to comment upon, good job.

Profits matter over viewers, and that means generating revenue from lower production costs and fewer viewers. It’s business and screw the viewers.

    Reply

    Sharon replied

If they lose enough viewers there will be no business left to generate revenue! If this does happen to them I hope I am around to see it. With more viewers they should regenerate more revenues for all involved. They could have made changes such as less expensive wardrobe items and less elaborate sets. They could have the actors work shorter hours to keep costs down. Working shorter hours they could pursue other work projects and still do the soaps. They could have done fewer episodes weekly making the budget friendlier alternative programming on the other days. Many possibilities could have been discussed and acted upon.

    david replied

I agree with everything you wrote in your reply. From what I understand, talk/reality shows are so much less expensive to produce, around 40% less, that it is simply easier for networks to replace scripted dramas instead of intensely managing them to reduce costs. But ultimately this seems self-defeating for the reason you state.

Viewership continues to decline, and it isn’t just because of more technological options or people working. Television is mostly unwatchable, in my opinion (except for PBS), because talk/reality shows resemble cesspools.

But regardless of what garbage is broadcast, for example The Revolution, there exists an undiscriminating, lowest common denominator of a million or more people who will watch anything, which seems to generate sufficient revenue from cheap productions to justify their existence from the perspective of business.

They have moved Glenn Beck’s show to the middle of the night here in Baltimore. I don’t think Oprah realized that it was the lineup that really helped make her so popular….the combination of our soaps with their drama then spliced with some talk at the end. That worked. We don’t want to be talked at to death on the chew and then relisten to katie and there are so many talk shows out there. I didn’t care for Katie on the news so I am not drawn to her show either. I suspect her comment about wanting GH as her lead in was to minimize the backlash as opposed to a sincere support of the soaps. She would have to really start talking up the soaps big time for me to even give her a second thought.

I agree 100%! I will only watch Katies show only in gratitude as well if they were to bring back both OLTL & AMC. And trust me it will be very painful to watch her, but if it meant bringing back OLTL & AMC, I would endure the pain! It was painful to watch her doing the CBS news. But no OLTL & AMC, no Katie for me! No OLTL & AMC, no ABC for me, except for GH! I also agree 100% with you about OPRAH. The only reason she did as well as she did was because she had the huge fan base of the soapers on ABC. She had millions that watched the soaps and then when they ended they left it on ABC and watched OPRAH. She was lucky! Had she had lead ins like The Chew or The Revolution, she would not have done well! Katie will have a good lead in of GH. But since ABC has angered millions of loyal soap fans, they will lose all of those millions of viewers as they are all boycotting ABC! So Katie has already lost a ton of viewers. Plus I think it will be hard for Katie to get a good fan base anyway, as a lot of people including myself, can not stomach her as a talk show host for an hour! I could not stomach her for just a half hour during the CBS news! I hope that everyone will continue to boycott all things ABC, except for GH, and hopefully we will finally make ABC listen to what their viewers actually want to watch!

While loyalty is nice, it is my opinion that many of you have taken this soap opera obsession to extremes.
First of all, boycotting ABC will have absolutely no effect on anything unless you’re a Nielsen family. None. Zip. Zero. You could watch ABC all day and not a single person would know or care about it. Second, it is a proven fact that boycotts never work. AMC and OLTL are NOT coming back; it does not make economic sense. Oprah herself explained this when people wanted her to add them to OWN. There comes a point when you need to stop sulking and move on with your lives. Disappointment is a part of life that can’t be avoided.

Further, there are hundreds and thousands of people working for ABC, its affiliates, and its shows that have absolutely NOTHING to do with soap operas being cancelled, the decision to cancel them, or the decision with what to replace them. Even if boycotts DID work, these hard working people don’t deserve to lose their jobs just because some people can’t live without a program that features switched baby, who’s the daddy, and double-personality stories for the umpteenth time.

There are many shows that are gone that I enjoyed watching. It would not be healthy for me to work myself into such a state that I am completely obsessed by it. Life is short, and there is a whole great big exciting world out there for those of us who choose to take advantage of it. Every one of us is free to make our own choices; however I can’t imagine how getting angry for over a year over a cancelled soap opera is the best use of anyone’s time.

You make valid points. However, even the almighty Ms. Winfrey is suffering now for dismissing the LOYAL soap fans who made her what she is. I bet she wishes she had all those soap fans to support her failing cable channel.

And as for being upset about a show being canceled, you do not realize it is MORE than just a SHOW, it is a whole GENRE that is being canceled. Would you really like to see all of your scripted shows replaced by talk and reality? Imagine, Kim Kardashian on ALL the channels, 24 hours a day! Oh boy!

If the networks want to really be enterprising, give me something I have never seen before, instead of a talk show, how about everyone just sits around and doesn’t say anything. That would be more entertaining than the garbage that is on these days. Thank goodness for MeTv and AntennaTV and not to mention streaming from Netflix and Amazon and Hulu and DVDs.

ABC deserves a boycott for their underhanded disgusting business practices alone. Therefore I do not watch anything besides GH and I am fine with that. I am not missing anything.

That network does not care for the millions of fans that stood by their network and for decades us loving their soaps. Even the business people believe abc made a terrible mistake in changing their programs and killing the soaps. they all say the same that the canceling of One life to live and all my children was one of the biggest blunders in television history, that says a lot about the abc/disney network. I will continue to boycott, abc is feeling the loss of the soaps fans, they single handedly destroyed their daytime programing abc afternoons will never be the same they will never come close to who they use to be.

So Here we go, While loyalty is nice, It is my opinion that many of you have taken this soap opera obsessions to extremes. I will say you are right, but the key word here is LOYALTY and I will go one step further and call the soap fans people with HEART who are trying to save and bring back our soaps, we are here and there are millions of us and abc/disney is feeling the loss from their daytime programming, having money in their pockets is far, far, more important to them then have good scripted programming over trashy talk, food, news, and dumb self help programs that we don’t want and these programs are taking over where classic shows with generations of families that have started watching together. I started watching my soaps with my grandmother and a very dear friend of mine that now are gone and now so are my soaps, that’s where LOYALTY and HEART come in. As far as hundreds of people loosing their jobs many people lost their jobs from the stars, the writers, people who do the sets, the soap books, even people who delivered the food and flowers I can go on to even more people who lost work because of abc’s quest to dismantle the soaps. now oprah, she did make a mistake she should have taken the soaps she would have gotten a lot of soap fans to watch our soaps and her dopy shows she has on now that are going downhill along with the almighty oprah. Now about your life is to short comment, if it is, why are you even here? aren’t you wasting your time by posting? I believe in letting people chose to do what they want and I love my soaps and I have lost my soaps and if complaining about and fighting about it makes me and several fans who come here to this sight feel better so be it. You do have a right to your say ,I just wanted you to hear what I have to say, I’m not wasting my life and I am not even angry I am passionate in how I feel I am LOYAL and I have HEART, and I LOVE my SOAPS.

I have been watching soaps since I used to come home from school and watch Another World with my mother. Not that brings back a lot of good memories and HEART. But life goes on despite the convoluted, illogical statements by people such as those on this board.

If you followed this ridiculous line of reasoning into nighttime, then you would never watch TV again when a show you watched was cancelled (“LAW AND ORDER WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS AND NOW THEY CANCELLED IT BECAUSE THE RATINGS DROPPED AND IT’S EXPENSIVE TO PRODUCE; I REFUSE TO WATCH NBC ANYMORE!!!”; “HOW DARE CBS CANCEL KNOTS LANDING DUE TO LOW RATINGS…I’M NOT WATCHING CBS EVER EVER AGAIN”). This line of thought is completely irrational, and you all know it.

I used to watch Hollywood Squares, Match Game, To Tell The Truth, and a zillion other game shows with my mother. Guess what, THEY DON’T SHOW GAME SHOWS IN THE AFTERNOON ANYMORE. I got over it.

Survival of the fittest. It’s been going on for eons. Time to get a grip on reality.

    Christine replied

me, you are right. If you did follow, as you say this “ridiculous line of reasoning into nighttime” we definitely would need our heads examined but the suits run nighttime a helluva lot different than daytime … at least they used to. Maybe it is time we open our eyes to the fact that the television landscape as we know it IS going to be replaced by more talk shows and cooking shows and that will be all there is because the networks just want to throw garbage in our faces and think we are stupid and will watch anything that is there because, well, we just sit on the couch all day and will watch whatever is on. Ha! Ha!

I would rather watch old reruns of I LOVE LUCY or anything of that nature or even my kids’ shows – they are more entertaining than the talk shows. Thank goodness for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and DVDs. I don’t even want to take the time to try and watch a nighttime show because the networks will sometimes give a show TWO episodes and that is it. The shows you mentioned, KNOTS LANDING, LAW & ORDER lasted for YEARS! That’s how they used to do things. Today, if you like a show, they don’t care because you are not a Nielsen family. It’s sickening.

At least the way daytime used to be these shows lasted for years, supported by the products like Hoover, et al. It’s just sad.

But, me, even with all your valid points, you have to admit that ABC clearly wants to get rid of their last remaining soap. So why can’t we call them on it? It will remain to be seen come renewal where CBS and NBC stand too. It is a shame because like I keep saying, years from now some guru at some network is going to think bringing back daytime soaps will be the greatest idea ever. Hollywood just keep recycling the same thing and they all copy each other. It will probably happen when I am old and grey and no longer care.

Me’s reply to you and original post were rude, engaging in personal attacks (ad hominem). Please see my replies in three parts.

    david replied

[part 1] The gross mischaracterizations and exaggerations by poster “Me” are presumptuously inaccurate and unsupportable. Equating a passionate indulgence with obsession, implying psychopathology, is a denigrating distortion. In a home without Nielsen meters, people could watch ABC and nobody would know or care, but people who boycott ABC and publicly discuss it are something else. Boycotts generate negative publicity, potentially affecting Nielsen homes, advertisers, and potential shareholders.

Boycotts DO work. Starbucks just bowed to pressure from Boycott Watch and agreed phase-out products containing crushed insects.

Meat producer AFA Foods just filed for bankruptcy related to the boycott of pink slime.

Boycotts influenced the civil rights movement. Recently, companies like Nestlé (widely criticized for marketing breast milk substitutes), Nike (which came under fire for employment practices in Asia), KFC (nailed for alleged mistreatment of chickens), and Target (hassled for not using the words “Merry Christmas” in advertising) all have been assailed by boycotts. Other successful examples in the last decade: http://www.ethicalconsumer.org/boycotts/successfulboycotts.aspx

Referring to Oprah as if she is an expert on television economics makes as much sense as citing the White Star Line as an authority on unsinkable ships.

I love everything you wrote it’s beautifully written and it tells the truth about everything we feel and how boycotts do work.Thank you for writing what all of us soap fans feel and thank you for all the homework you did on this subject. I also like how you said that we do have other lives and coming here is a pleasant diversion because it is, I enjoy coming here several times a day wanting to know what everyone has to say about the soaps we love. whats nice is sometimes we agree and there are times we disagree, OK, and sometime we get in to a argument that Michael has to tell us to stop. I guess there are some people who don’t understand or don’t want to understand how we feel, but you wrote all those facts beautifully, Love all your boycott information, I remember all of them even signed several petitions that you mentioned and we won and we are winning here with our soaps. abc has lost many soap fans because they choose greed over quality program and the ratings for there daytime shows are sinking because of the boycotts from us, the soap fans. Thanks again for writing how we all feel. Best post ever.

    david replied

[part 2] There’s more to people’s lives than what they post here. It’s a pleasant diversion. People deal with disappointment everyday and soaps offer a brief respite. After decades, many have lost family or experienced other tragedies that it is nonsense or stupidity to imagine people could be naïve enough to think disappointment could be avoided.

Employment in any sector is not guaranteed. Disputes about a few hours of programming are not likely to impact those in unrelated positions. Your fanciful projections are meaningless hyperbole.

Ridiculing soaps for repetitive storylines surrounding paternity and other human issues suggests a disregard or lack of insight for the timeless appeal of storytelling and human nature. Dramas centered on paternity have been around since Sophocles and Euripides and were repeated by Shakespeare.
    http://lookaroundme.blogspot.com/2006/03/soap-opera-and-shakespeare.html

This isn’t about rejecting a network over a canceled show. Evening weekly shows are cancelled when ratings decline and most people don’t care. They are only on once a week and not even that with preemptions and months of summer repeats. They are eventually replaced with similar programming of the same genre that transferring allegiance from one show to another isn’t difficult.

Soaps and their casts are unique in their continuity (5 days/week all year) and longevity (decades), and every indication is they will not be replaced by similar programming. Brian Frons lied when he said viewers wanted infotainment. What viewers wanted was irrelevant. ABC just wanted more revenue. The transparent, self-serving rationalizations of greed were condescending and appalling, all of which were compounded by the poor quality of the replacements.

Corporations assume marketing can manipulate consumers into purchasing products they neither need nor want. But something has changed. ABC is so obsessed with revenue that it doesn’t pretend to care about viewer interests anymore. It will broadcast the cheapest, lowest quality programming–even if it means lower ratings–as long as the bottom line is more revenue. And the programming fitting these specifications is faked reality and talk.

Without soaps, network television during the day is unwatchable for those who dislike reality and talk. Unfortunately, evening programming is increasingly the same. Some people will watch anything. Others are more discerning, instead choosing other options or activities, which is what many of us have already done. Survival of the fittest doesn’t apply to viewers here. Most people can live quite happily without television. If networks cannot adapt to viewer interests, the networks will not survive and people will lose their jobs, which brings us to Katie.

    david replied

[part 3] Katie is in GH’s time slot. Many soap viewers do not like reality/talk. They aren’t going to TiVo or DVR it. Katie can fail because the market is saturated with talk and people are sick of it. It doesn’t help that her producer is Jeff Zucker, the idiot who tried to replace 10 pm weekday programming with the Tonight Show in 2010 because it was cheaper than scripted dramas. He thought he could save NBC money but instead NBC fell from first to last place of the four broadcast networks. If soap viewers don’t watch Katie after GH, both Katie and Jeff could experience another humiliating failure, and then what will the network replace Katie with? Another reality/talk show?

As consumers, choices and public opinions matter. Significant events followed the Boston Tea Party of 1773. Boycotts have worked. Don’t listen to anyone who suggests otherwise because the evidence contradicts their claims and their motivation can only be to disempower and undermine the efforts of others. You don’t think executives at ABC are worried after the embarrassing failure of The Revolution?

You have to wonder if someone like the poster “Me” is a shill affiliated with ABC or Katie. “Me” wants the same thing ABC executives want–for soap viewers to shut up or grow up and move on so their jobs at ABC will be easier. Who else would come to a soap site and claim many here are obsessive, sulking, unhealthy, angry, ridiculous, irrational, and psychotic, if the intent is not to demoralize?

I am not watching reality/talk just because it is broadcast or to keep ABC employees working. I have moved on. If ABC doesn’t care about viewer interests and goes out of business so be it. Why does ABC think it deserves to survive if so few care to watch?

ABC should have saved their million $$$ given to Katie Couric and keep AMC and OLTL on the air. Now that is what I call entertaining. IMO

You have a point there lisa, What question could she ask that any other talk show host has asked? They are all recycled shows there all the same boring shows day after, day after, day. And the millions abc is going to pay her shes not worth it. She never was any good on nbc and cbs what makes abc think she will do it for them. When she did the nightly news for cbs they couldn’t wait to get rid of her their ratings went down and never got any better. Erika Slezak is far more entertaining that katie couric. I can watch her for another 40 years.

OH NO not another afternoon Talk Show on ABC. Please someone at ABC/Disney please listen to your daytime viewers. Why do you think ABC has dropped to 4th place in the daytime ratings. It’s because long time, loyal ABC viewers are boycotting and tuning into CBS to watch their daytime SOAPS. The boycott of ABC has even hurt the ratings of The View and HELP CBS’s “The Talk”. I used to watch ABC from morning till after Nightline. Now all I will watch is General Hospital. It is not only because ABC cancelled the Soaps, it is because ABC does not listen or care about its viewers or what the want. All they care about is $$$$, well how much advertising are they selling now that they’re ratings and market share has tanked??

Do you remember when Nightline was hosted by Ted Koppel and the show was actually about news? Do you remember Ted interviewing Mike Brown, director of FEMA, after hurricane Katrina when Ted said, “Don’t you guys watch television? Don’t you guys listen to the radio?” That was television worth watching!

I am sure most of you GH vieweres remember Norma Connolly who played Luke’s Aunt Ruby here is a quote she made on 9/27/94. We’re the last generation of soaps. It’s an instinct I have. I don’t think new soaps will be created. When they go, they will be replaced by much cheaper programming .Kinda of weird huh soaps fans that she would be in fact right on the money years later. Just thought I would share came across this the other day in a soap mag.

News, Talk, and food shows that repeat the same garbage, day after day, week after week, month after month, Year after year, are boring. Soaps are unique, news, food, and talk shows are all over the place nothing unique about recycling the same stuff over and over again. People are going to just shut off their tv’s and find some other kind of entertainment, I know I will before I watch that crap the networks are trying to sell us, I like the soaps, I don’t want to know how to make a upside down cake, or how to make a meal out of leftover meat loaf, And I dam sure don’t want to listen to the news all day, Unless of course its breaking news that can effect all of us.

exactly! this show is no different than that other crap that is on all fkn day long. it’s like these people think soap fans aren’t loyal and passionate, trust me, this lady is in for a rude awakening i know TONS who are already boycotting this show.

    david replied

It isn’t that they think soap fans aren’t loyal and passionate, they think soap viewers are either stupid enough they will watch anything (like The Chew or The Revolution), or, if soap fans don’t watch, it’s because they are obsessive, sulking, and unhealthy. Either way, soap viewers and their interests are written off.

You partially stated the OPPOSITE of loyalty, like i said. (will watch anything goes against loyalty&sulking, well can’t say that isn’t somewhat loyalty-related). So,,,,,kind of a double negative on your part, in a sense. Since they think we will “watch anything” they are truly underestimating how loyal we are. It’s not that I’m going to specifically boycott, but i won’t be watching because this show has 0 interest to me. So, yes soap fans are written off. Forget that these shows provide jobs and have been on for YEARS let’s put on MORE of the same crap that’s on in the AM.
Id find something else or Id read….while sulking probably :P

Kathie was hired as a cheap replacement for Oprah, well she’ll end up where Oprah is right now in the dog house. When she refuse to go to the 4pm slot because she was scare of Judge Judy she signed the death certificate of her own talk show. Kathie you had the opportunity to save your self, you mess it. Port Charles is under the soap fans protection.

I’ so glad to see all this (NO WATCH) of the over paid Kate Couric show. She does not deserve all that money for nothing..she’s so snobbish, and it’s because she thinks she’s irreplaceable. I absolutely will NOT be watching her..will not give them any ratings. Everyone hang in there with your NO Watch and it will cancel them out in no time. Hooray
