GH beloved fan favorite Kimberly McCullough (Robin) took to social media on Thursday to share her video pitch for her passion project and pilot, Hey Day! Fans of the actress know that Kimberly has been working on this project for awhile.

In her latest pitch for the project, McCullough appears in the video along with retrospective clips of her time as Robin Scorpio through the years.  She explains how Hey Day is inspired by life in front and behind the camera of the soaps in the 80′s, where some of the biggest celebrities, biggest music stars, and yes, Luke and Laura, under the direction of former GH EP Gloria Monty defined the genre.  Kimberly also reveals for those who don’t know that she is part latina.

In a talk with SOD about Hey Day and what she hopes from circulating the latest pitch for the show concept, McCullough expressed:  “It would help if the fans shared it and also used the hashtag that I put up there, which is #80sheydaysoap, because that way, when I’m talking about it to different companies, I can actually say to them, ‘These people actually want to see the show.’ Other than that, I would want comments about what they liked or didn’t like about my pitch, their feedback on what they would want to see or is this interesting to them, what would be fun for them to see and what they really want to know about. Do they really want to know about the off-screen romances, do they want to know about what it was like to be a minority then on a soap? I would love to know the things that really interest them.”

Watch Kimberly’s Hey Day video pitch after the jump.  Then let us know what you thought of it, and seeing the fun retro Robin clips and more! Remember to spread the hashtag #80sheydaysoap via your social media accounts too!

    – Not me– I am not a Snoopy Gossipy person and I could care less what anyone does or did in their private lives. None of my business. lol
((outside of their character personas and names, I know nothing about any of them))

I wish her luck and to prosper with her project … and y’all enjoy :)

If they want to tell all, I am there to listen. Over the many years I have watched GH, I have come to care about the actors–onscreen and offscreen–whatever they are willing to tell, I am there to hear. They are real people offscreen not defined by the characters they play.

Nancy D…I partly agree, but for me if their private lives or opinions are less than stiller, for me, I have found it can interfere with my enjoyment of their acting and characters,

Totally agree Rose. It’s a gamble…if the actor seems likeable it can be a fun read. If I don’t like him or her I have to try extra hard to suspend my disbelief. If they repulse me ala Mel Gibson, never watch another project he leads.

I just watched the clip after my last post. She’s not pitching a show about the real life actors from GH.” It’s a fictional show set back in the “heyday” of the 80s. I’m afraid you’ll have to go back to gossip magazines to get the “scoop.”

I thought the original concept of heyday was about a soap opera within a soap opera. And it wasn’t supposed to be a reality show.

Looks really stupid. Would prefer to see the old soaps themselves than listening to what we already know. Sounds like it is an autobiography. What don’t we know? Oh, that she’s part Latina. Yawn.

The off screen drama seems it may be more interesting than the on screen drama these days – not only romances, but all those contract negotiations, dealing with ratings ups and downs, keeping the shows on the air, the comings and goings of actors, etc.
