Poor Rayna (Connie Britton) of the ABC primetime soap, Nashville. The country singer has women at every turn of her life trying to destroy it bit by bit. And now word out of Deadline.com today is that Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who plays Peggy Samper on the Music City drama has been bumped up to series regular!
As fans who watch Nashville know, Kimberly’s character of Peggy is an old flame and former co-worker of Rayna’s husband Teddy Conrad (Eric Close). The two share a dangerous secret, and photographs of the two together are threatening to derail Teddy’s political campaign! And lord knows what will happen when Rayna finds out?
Williams-Paisley originally was slated to be part of a multi-episode arc on the primetime soap an ended up appearing in six of the original 13 episodes of the freshman drama. Now that Nashville got a full series order pick-up from ABC, she is set to appear in at least three episodes of Nashville‘s back nine with an option to become a series regular in Season 2 if the show is renewed. Williams-Paisley is married to country superstar Brad Paisley and lives in Nashville.
Are you glad Kimberly will become series regular if Nashville can find its ratings footing and a solid audience to be granted a second season? Let us know!
