The answer to the million dollar question as to who would play the CW’s Dynasty Alexis Carrington has been answered!

None other than former Knots Landing (Ex-Paige) and Desperate Housewife (Ex-Edie) star, Nicollette Sheridan has nabbed the coveted part portrayed in the original 80′s ABC version of the series by Joan Collins.

In story, Alexis is Blake’s first wife, and the mother to his children: Steven and Fallon.

According to the network: Alexis’ will return unexpectedly, while challenging Blake’s marriage to Cristal, and seeking to reunite with her children and fighting to claim what is hers!

The casting of Sheridan to Dynasty marks her return to TV following her departure from Desperate Housewives in 2009.  No word yet on when the character of Alexis will first appear on an episode, but stay tuned for further intel.

So, what do you think of the casting choice of Nicollette as Dynasty’s troublemaking, Alexis? Comment below!

Agree..I watch the pilot and it took me like 3 weeks to watch the 2nd episode and just gave up on it half way through…If they want it to work some, have Linda Evans or Heather Locklear or Joan Collins play a character on the show.

Horrible acting and boringgg writing.. Hope you are doing better health wise Jimh!!!

Absolutely, Jimh and Omar! Whilst I’ve adored Nicolette in both her Knots Landing and Desperate Housewives roles, nobody, and I do mean NOBODY!, can step into Joan Collins’ stylish stilettos…she IS Alexis…period! I simply find the entire notion of trying to recycle the original Dynasty’s bigger-than-life epic of ’80′s extravagance into some sort of updated, pc version of today seriously wrong in so many ways!

I may watch it now. I watched the first episode and was not impressed so I’ve been recording and saving for the day I have nothing else to watch. It was worse than the Dallas reboot.

this definitely, makes me want to tune back in.. add in Rick Hearst , ex -Ric @GH

    then absolutely.

it’s funny .. I was just thinking about Nicolette the other day… I LOVE LOVE LOVE this lady.. she was in integral part of Knot’s Landing. WOW

she was the catalyst for Desperate Housewives .

I never thought.. she’d “work” again… after she “allegedly” got fired from her last show.. she sued Marc Cherry for wrongful termination.

    THIS IS VERY GOOD NEWS.

two solid adds to – I have to start recording… like your idea.. when all else fails..

Yes, I want to see Rick Hearst, I saw his instagram when he got the part so I was thrilled, sad to hear it is already doomed. I have to see if I can find the epi that aired

I loved the Dallas revival! I like this reboot as well! Nicolette will be a good addition to the show. I would like to see Rick Hearst play Dex Dexter! Any news yet on who he will be playing?

TNT’s DALLAS was great. It continued the story and had the original actors giving fantastic performances in true-to-character storylines. And, the actor who played John Ross was HOT and completely believable as a chip of the old, nasty block.

Which is the difference between a revival DALLAS and a reboot DYNASTY! I enjoy both shows!

Love this! And the show isn’t that bad. Think that people are slamming it without it giving it a good chance. As for Nicolette, she can play the antagonist well. I just wonder if they’re going to bring in Amanda and Adam as well.

I look at this one like this: Behind the scenes, Nicollette Sheridan had better behave herself and NOT cause backstage drama like she did on the Desperate Housewives set.

    Hey…just saying……….

    Later.

Sometimes the drama behind the scenes are far more interesting than the show itself….

the show needed bigger stars from the get go…..can only hope Paige Mathieson can ignite some better scenes….

I also see this as welcome news! I have binge-watched the first few episodes, and I am now caught up. I find much to enjoy: (1) Krystle and Steven are both good guys, as in the original, and I can root for them; (2) much of what they are doing (with the reboot) honours the original; and (3) scene-stealer Sammy Joe!

    Interesting choice.

Loved her on KNOTS LANDING and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES — here’s hoping her arrival results in a bump in the ratings. The new DYNASTY isn’t the old DYNASTY and that’s not a bad thing. The first season of the original was pretty boring and most people seem to forget that the show didn’t really start to catch on until Alexis showed up…

I like Sheridan. Glad she is working again.

Personally, I’ve always thought she would have been a great choice for the recast of Phyllis on Y&R. Gina Tognoni is okay but not is just too young for the role.

OK….so…I said from the beginning, Heather Locked should be cast as Alexis. A. She’s great at playing the bitch, b. It connects the original from to the reboot and c. It reunites her with Grant Show from the other Spelling classic of Melrose Place. So I think they missed a great opportunity….but…. casting Nicolette Sheridan is a great choice!

That would’ve been great. Heather Locklear most definitely would’ve been great at Alexis. Maybe they can bring her in for another role.

This is one for the good news column today. I loved KNOTS LANDING from start to finish but Miss Sheridan added a lot to the proceedings during her tenure. She rocked it as Edie on DH too. Now the DYNASTY reboot is not a winner but The CW seems to be willing to give it the chance it needs to find a way.

Oooh, Ric Hearst really would make a great Dex! Moving to Atlanta has really helped him get primetime roles. He’ll hopefully have a reunion with Natalie Kelley (Cristal), since they worked together on The Vampire Diaries.

I like Nathalie Kelley, she is beautiful and a versatile actress! Linda Evans was so blah. Dianne Carroll was a stronger foe for Joan Collins, and Stephanie Beacham would have been a sexier pairing for John Forsythe.

Brianna Brown has been bringing the best of her brand of crazy vulnerability to the show, too.
