An interesting item yesterday appeared at Deadline.com with news that their still could be life for Marc Cherry’s follow-up to Desperate Housewives, Devious Maids!
According to Deadline, “Lifetime is looking at the pilot, which missed the cut at ABC, and has had conversations with its producer, ABC Studios. While Lifetime appears interested, sources stress that the talks are preliminary. The cable network has been looking at a number of busted broadcast pilots and cancelled series, but Devious Maids seems to be closer than most to the new, younger and sexier direction Lifetime is taking with series like The Client List.”
Based on the Mexican format, Devious Maids follows four maids (Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Judy Reyes) with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. The project’s cast also includes Susan Lucci, and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is among its executive producer.
So will La Lucci still get to play her comedic turn on the series? What do you think of the chances of Lifetime picking-up Devious Maids? Do you think it’s a wise choice and would you tune-in? Let us know!
