I couldn’t believe a network didn’t carry the Emmy broadcast. Granted, on line, everyone can say what they want, which was entertaining. However, it doesn’t do justice to all of the daytime TV community. Millions of people watch these shows and I think the entertainment industry underestimates the contribution of daytime actors. For the producers to leave it in the hands of those morons on the red carpet was insulting.

Thanks so much Michael! Loved this interview! Almost called in myself but honestly didn’t think I’d be able to talk, lol.

Yes, big congrats to Eric and Eileen, so happy they won! I was rooting for them. I watched Passions for nearly it’s entire run (minus the last year, though I’ve since watched most of it on youtube) and it’s been awesome to see Eric as Brady. He’s great in the role, and I do agree he got even better last year. I also have watched Days since the mid-90s, and was thrilled Eileen won. I’ll say that generally when I watch award shows I don’t really care who wins except under certain conditions. And after Eileen and Eric’s performances last year on Days I really thought they deserved to win, especially Eileen though b/c of the “yelling at Jesus” scene alone, lol.

Kristen’s return really did provide Days a MUCH needed shot in the arm. They had been floundering before that for a while (imho).

Anyway to the Award Show itself, the Red Carpet was horrific! My roommate watched a bit with me and she asked me, “Are you sure you want to watch this? These girls are terrible.” I can’t even believe that was allowed. Now I will say they were not terrible with everyone, just most everyone. And the girls inside were not as bad as the ones on the carpet (and for some reason the girls in the black dresses were worse than the two in the white). But when they asked Joe Mascolo what made him legendary, it was a real “oh hell no” moment. I’m 27, so not much older than them, and the whole situation just made me really sad.

The awards itself though were pretty nice! Without a doubt the best in many years. I really hated the Vegas awards and the HLN were worse. Loved Kathy Griffin making fun of the Robin Meade country singing & that stupid couch, so bad!

One final note, I’m a bit upset by how Days handled Chandler Massey’s win. Not only did someone provide the wrong clip (intentional or not), but they also never congratulated him on FB! Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but come on, at least act appropriately given that he played a pivotal role for several years. And this is not coming from a Will or Wilson superfan, but just from a regular superfan of Days who thinks Guy Wilson is doing great (better with Sonny than Chandler) but also thinks Days needs to treat their actors with decency and not anger/spite.
