Great news this morning out of Soap Opera Digest, that feisty, fun firecracker Marcy Rylan, has been asked back to The Young and the Restless after she was part of the recent cast cuts and shown the front door at the number one soap.

According to SOD; Rylan will now bring her Abby Newman back to the canvas on recurring basis though. T he popular actress will start taping new episodes in January.

So will Abby and Carmine (Marco Dapper) have a future?  Is Abby coming back for some Newman drama?

Soapers, are you glad she is coming back, although not a contract?   Let us know your thought!

So far not impressed in the least with the new regime. The sets for Avery and Victor are a nice change but the stories seem to be all over the place.

For the love of God, let this be the LAST wedding for Victor and Nikki.

Hearing Marcy Rylan is coming back may keep me watching, she was a breath of fresh air in a stale old show.

JFP trademark is look and special effects, not story. This has still been proven right again.

Exactly. JFP destroys every soap she goes to. She destroyed Another World which eventually led to their demise and ruined OLTL when she was at the helm there. She was the reason the impeccable Robin Strasser left OLTL in 2001 because of JFP. Thank god, I don’t watch the Y&R. LOL.

She should never have been let go. She is one of the freshest actresses to be seen on this soap in ages. Now, if you would only do something about keeping “Daniel” in town. He deserved to have a storyline also.

I agree with everything you said, Diane.

I was also really starting to like Jennifer Landon paired with Michael Graziadei, but it is too bad they let her go.

Daniel was exciting with Amber and I found that his scenes were Lily made her as part of a couple enjoyable. I just want to fall asleep when Crystal and Daniel Goddard share scenes together. To me, they are boring. Now when she had lunch with Leslie the other day, I enjoyed her scenes.

Fantastic news. I know I’m in the minority, but I am really enjoying the show. It’s more serious and relatable. It’s not perfect but I am very happy with the improvements. Abby being fired and not even written off, was the one big mistake. Happy they are correcting.

I am so happy for the character of Abby being back and so so SO happy for Marcy Rylan and her little family (two little boys like me) that she will have a job, albeit recurring. Marcy is such a sweet woman and she never should have been let go in the first place.

I think they realize that Abby was an important character and getting rid of her was an error in judgement I am grateful they are willing to correct. If gives me hope that they will do what is in the best interest of the show, over their own egos.

Well, thank god Phelps and Griffin realized what a mistake it was letting her go.

Now, if they would only send Fen to Canada or wherever the hell Scottie is supposed to be and put Summer into a coma I would be really thrilled.

Good news! She’s a great actress. Too bad she’s no longer on contract, maybe one day.

I like it too. It’s just Classic Story telling. I love that Chloe is getting a decent story. I’m excited about the new additions to the show

Can only agree it IS “fantastic” that Marcy is the one bringing back the Abby we all love. She was made for that role. She makes Abby entertaining, but not irritating.

Not every actress can carry off that spoiled brat, diva personality without making you hate them. ;)

    PLEASE put her on contract!!!

We need to give it time. It is much better than the crap we had with MAB and I think the new regime is trying to provide what has been missing from Y&R for some time now – Telliing a tale and watching it unravel.

So glad she is back. She was my favorite on Guiding light and has been my favorite on here. She helps to make the show more interesting. Love her. Phyllis needs to go and give Abby a contract. Can’t stand Phyllis.

Letting Marcy go was a huge mistake! She was adorable and had finally evolved her once cartoon character into a well grounded character. Now lets see what she can do with a good writer for a change!

Not to mention they have story left to tell. What happened to all her shares of Newman stock? There’s definitely more there.

I am delighted ! The teen age new comers have been tres boring – except NewNoah is getting interesting. Abby was a brat but an amusing brat.

I’m VERY glad she’s back. So far, this is the only good decision made by the horrid JFP. The show is stinking up the screen as badly if not worse than it did under MAB. Not something I thought was possible.
Why TPTB insist on recycling failed producers like JFP who have killed other soaps instead of investing in people who actually love the genre more than their own egos is beyond me.

At least getting Marcy back is ONE step in the right direction. I’ve been unable to watch this trainwreck of a show. When she’s back, then so will I be.

I’m in the minority here, because I do not like Abby, and was thrilled when she was writen out.

I also like what JFP has contributed to the show so far. I am very pleased with the Sharon/Adam/Chelsea storyline, and I love Avery and Nick. I do miss Daniel, Lucy and Daisy however, so I would love to see them return.
