Looks like Michael Easton will be wearing a white lab coat once again when he makes his return to General Hospital on March 18th. According to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Easton will play a doctor, even though his last role on the show was that of Dr. Silas Clay, who was murdered.
Apparently, the new doctor character was in the works from GH head writers, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman. “We’d actually already had this character in mind; it was something that was developing,” said Altman to SOD. “Then the opportunity to get Michael back presented itself, it helped us define the character even more in such a way that we felt would really compliment his particular talents. Having him definitely informed the direction the character has taken and the importance that he will have on the canvas, as well.”
Easton related about the new doc’s entrance on to the scene in an interview with SOD: “Rather than just walking in, or sneaking in the back, he’s kicking in the front door and coming on in to story.”
So, what do you think of Michael Easton once again playing a doctor? Who do you think he will be involved with in story right off the bat? Are you surprised GH decided to make him a physician once again, instead of a different career occupation? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
