194 September 29th, 2014 Michael Muhney Speaks Out And Denies Allegations Surrounding His Dismissal From Y&R!

Courtesy/CBSWatch

Breaking his silence with the press, recently the former Adam Newman of The Young and the Restless spoke to Australia’s TV Week Soap Extra magazine recently where he discussed the allegations surrounding his dismissal from the number one soap opera!

As many fans know, an incident with former co-star Hunter King (Summer) was cited as one of the reasons that Muhney was fired from the show.  As to why Michael didn’t just come forward and say the allegations were not true right away, the popular actor related to TV Week:  “I have never spoken out.  I wanted a long time to go by, because I didn’t want to be this person who was desperately screaming:  “I didn’t do it!”.  The rumour was untrue.   First of all, there is no one anywhere, of any official capacity, who ever made any of those allegations.  If there were, I would be the first person to come out and say,’ Hey, now, I’ve got to take you to court because what you’ve just said is lies and I have to sue you for libel and slander.”’

Muhney also commented on the grind of being on a daytime soap at one point was wearing on him, and his frustration even with himself.  He revealed he went to talk to Y&R EP Jill Farren Phelps on the situation:  “I remember sitting down in the final ten months of my tenure with the executive producer and saying:  ”hings have to change. You guys are going to have to fire me or I’m going to have to quit. I told them that several times.”
As to if he had any suspicions that people were supposedly out to smear his name, Muhney told TV Week:  “I didn’t have suspicions- I was told.  A producer said to me:  ‘When your star shines very bright, you have a huge target on your back.  So be careful.”

As Judge Judy said, don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining. Now he expects us to believe that he WANTED to leave because he was “overworked”. If a grown man can’t handle the extreme pressure of working on a soap opera then he needs to grow a pair.

Some people like to think the worse of people because it’s more interesting. If you look at Sharon Case’s video she made for him on Twitter it speaks volume’s. He liked to joke around, he liked to tease, make fun of etc. Unfortunately some of the people he teased are sour-pusses and complained like H.K., M.T.S., D.D., and the actor who plays Neil Winters. Since Michael is gone the soap is all about these creeps. Summer who is in every show every day, Nikki drinking again, Victor stirring up his trouble again, Paul and his new son, and Neil’s blind.

He put up with Eric Braeden’s ridiculous ego and unprofessional behavior for a very long time. He got fed up with it. I don’t blame him one bit. He knew the only way for Braeden to leave was to go out in a box. Why stick around for that? He was smart to know it was time to get off of Phelps’ crappy show.

IMHO he sounds a bit delusional (as many actors are haha). A producer told him “When your star shines very bright, you have a huge target on your back. So be careful” I think the producer meant “don’t step on peoples’ toes, don’t steal the spotlight etc.” whereas MM interprets it as a prophetic prediction of his downfall. Hey, actors love drama I guess. Admittedly I am not a YR watcher, just a soap fan, so I don’t know his work or much about him – which is to say I could be totally wrong.

Nick you are totally wrong and you would know if you wat he’d YR. MM had more time on screen than any other actor and that in itself makes a lot of people jealous especially the old timers. He did his job and he did it well..he is a perfectionist, memorizing every line I. Every scene. He has a huge fan base because we all grew to love him playing the part of Adam Newman, not a particulary “nice guy” ..but he played it so well he won us over and he became our beloved Adam. The rumors were false and were used because they had no good reason to fire him so they made something up making many turn against him and the young actress he was accused of “fondling”. It was a no win situation for anyone and it created whispers and innuendos for both actors. MM fans are loyal and many boycotted the show and ratings dropped. A

The thing is that when one shines bright, one is actually good for the show. How could he ever step on anybody’s toe , when he was given the most awkward parts, and again he performed beautifully, so well that he got us really involved emotionally. So I think nothing can be said about Michael M. His talent simply speaks for him . I heard the show has become sheer boredom .The other thing is not only about him being fired , it is the way he was treated. It left the cast and the producers with a terrible reputation of ungrateful back stabbers .This really stained the show and who would like to watch actors with such bad spirits. Fans also need to have some respect for the cast. Apart from Sharon Case no one seems to deserve it .this may explain the downfall of the show . Opposed to this, all the class Michael M has shown along the way.So who would even think he is the bad guy. NOT ME !

    CeeCee replied

I agree with Susie 100%. As I said I cannot judge…none of us is a fly on the wall. All I can see is what is presented to me. MM delivered…never faltered. He is one of the BEST actors that ever graced this business…always prepared and believable. That is the main ingredient at acting….to make everything that passes an actor’s lips credible and accepted by the audience as such. We must applaud him for that.
Someone else posted that MM has an ego? We all have an ego. It is part of the human psyche….it is a trait that is completely natural. The problem arises when we give said ego too much rope.
Nonetheless, we can only base our opinion on what we see on screen, not what is hearsay or goes on behind the scenes.

    CeeCee replied

At the risk of stepping on your toes, Mama and KH, your way of thinking in this case, is fallacious.
As I previously stated, I liken the response of some viewers to a scene from Dickens’s TALE OF TWO CITIES….why don’t we just behead someone without just cause!!!! Symbolically speaking, isn’t that kind of archaic? Or better yet, let’s bring lynching back.

MM fans (like myself) are true blue they will comment until the show goes off air or he comes back. It isn’t even a matter of “did he or didn’t he ” anymore It has to do with HK playing the role of the victim, cast members taking sides and we the fans lose our favorite actor.( For argument sake lets say she’s right don’t you think she should get over it? I believe there was an incident of some sort because lets be honest, Hollywood back lots are hot bed for a lot innocent and not so innocent groping. MM was fired for some reason, but when the outrage got so intense, someone high up used this incident that would have otherwise been sweep under the carpet to basically turn public opinion against MM and paint the show as just doing what it had to do. Not condoning groping even if fun or jest, just saying if every actor who groped a co-star was fired there wouldn’t be that many actors left. I remember a scene when HK as Summer directed a speech directly at the camera about someone doing something they shouldn’t have done to her— it was supposed to be about Ian Ward, but the way they shot it, I am certain the writers were giving her a way to address MM, about the incident without every saying it was really about him.

    Reply

    W. R. replied

I’m sorry, but every actor who gropes a co-worker (unwelcome) SHOULD be fired. Then they would get the idea that it’s unacceptable and there would be plenty of actors in Hollywood that behave in a mature respectable manner towards their co-workers. Things do not become ok just because a lot of people do it. I don’t really know anything about the situation (nor does anyone except the people involved). As far as I’ve ever known an actor that wants to leave a show asks to be let out if their contract not to be fired.
It also blows my mind that anyone would say that a young woman that may be a victim of assault, which is what groping is, should be fired from their job. (I know you aren’t the one that said it Mary). Talk about setting society back 50 years. That said, I don’t know if she was a victim or not. Nor does anyone who wasn’t there. And that’s the point.

    Mary SF replied

@W.R. They should be fired, but a lot of that kind of stuff does get sweep under the rug–not saying it is right, but when companies have invested millions of dollars in a movie or television production, they are not going fired the star of the movie just because he grab some boob of an extra— as times continue to change, slowly attitudes in this industry will change with it, with more and more people willing to speak up and not just take it. And there can’t be a double standard– we can’t say someone like Jeanne Cooper grabbing men’s private parts on set was cute and funny and then turn around and saying a male star grabbing a boob in jest or fun is assault. There has to be a firm policy enforce across the board for one and for all. And you are right the victim should never be put in a position of being blamed.

    CeeCee replied

Regardless of what went on behind the scenes, no one has the right to jump on the band-wagon, especially if it is fiction or the facts are distorted and hazy. This is THE US OF A, people…innocent until proven guilty. If one wants to condemn without proof, then said person should move to Italy or France where one is guilty until proven innocent.

    Mary SF replied

@CeeCee– not sure if you were directing your comment to me or to someone else, but just for future reference, both Italy and France recognize the presumption of innocence principle — In Italy the 2nd paragraph of Article 27 in their Constitution states–”innocence is to be presumed and no one is to be held guilty of a charge unless his or her guilt has been established in court. In France their Code of Criminal Procedure states “any person suspected or prosecuted is presumed innocent for as long as their guilt has not been established. Googled this information.

The presumption of innocence does not mean someone is innocent, it just means in a court of law the burden to prove guilt lies with the prosecutor rather putting the burden of proof on the defense to prove innocence. Since MM has not been charged with a crime he doesn’t have the right for presumption of innocence, in the legal sense it is intended. Many guilty people are never charged with a crime, that doesn’t mean they are innocent and many innocent people are convicted but that doesn’t mean they are guilty.

I will agree we do not know what did or did not happened. We cannot say he is guilty of anything, but likewise we really can’t say he didn’t do anything either. Both sides are merely speculating on a situation that may or may not have happened. And those are exactly the type of situations the gossip mills love– so unfair or not, MM is being tried in the court of public opinion, where his legal rights under law do not apply. He could sue for slander, but then the burden of proof would lie with him, to prove he was slandered.

    CeeCee replied

Well, Mary. Most of us do speculate, which is all we can do. I have written many an essay in College and beyond, that we can only speculate, especially in writing, unless we present facts. But, there is a big difference between speculation and outright accusing, as some of the posters do. I certainly will say that it is neither the American way nor is there justification in what is said, one way or the other. It is not fair…NO ONE KNOWS WHAT REALLY HAPPENED EXCEPT FOR MM AND HK. We will never know. No one can make blatant comments such as, “he did it”.
If you read my posts, you will see exactly what I am saying. I am not just shooting my mouth off, here. Both my parents are attorneys, so, I know a little bit of the law and its function. I am sure you know that we cannot go around accusing people without the facts…

Silence was the only correct move..

    CeeCee replied

Good point Timmm. But many an actor and politician has come to the podium with his wife, steadfastly and faithfully standing by him……..when, all along, WE KNEW he was guilty. You know to whom I am referring. (many of them)
Thus, coming forth means nothing to someone without dignity or integrity. He will deny it…he will lie about it. As I said, I have been in a quandary since this rumor has been circulating. That is exactly what it is…a rumor. So, who’s to say it happened or did not happen?
I am only 28 years old, and I have had my share of catcalls and lewd gestures, whether it be walking down the street or in the workplace…….some men are just disgusting….while others personify finesse and practise the art of being gentlemen by staying within the confines of what society deems acceptable and respectable. Nonetheless, I have learned to believe ‘it’ when I see ‘it’.
Also, perhaps MM was advised by his attorney not to stir the pot while still hot. I am almost certain he doesn’t just blindly speak or holds court, as it were, by giving interviews without consulting with his attorney first. …there is legal advice somewhere behind the scenes, I would imagine.

    Timmm replied

Cee Cee, you mentioned catcalls and it brought a smile to my face. I was walking near a construction site last week and a girl walked right by a group of contractors eating lunch and the went bonkers. My question to you, is it okay for guys to do that? I know it may be primitive and immature BUT what if you didnt get catcalls? Would you think, what the hell is wrong with me? I’M hot! Come on boys, whistle!

    CeeCee replied

Well, Timmm. I don’t know how to answer that. It is a very good question, and one that I never really bothered to ask myself. But, comments about one’s bosom sound dirty and offensive….not al all complementary. Apparently, some men think otherwise. They assume their cockiness (pardon the pun), makes them seem virile and attractive….well, quite the opposite reaction is true. Any woman can tell you that kind of attention is neither warranted nor appreciated.
I have been cursed with whatever it is that make men act like fools when I walk by.

The worst was when I attended a certain Ivy League school in Manhattan. There is always construction going on in NYC and, as you mention, contractors get out of hand. I am not timid, so I assumed a straight face , held my head high and walked on. It actually bothers my husband more than it does me….he’s Italian, so, imagine that!!!! Lol.
There is a fine line between what’s meant as a complement and what becomes lewd. But, groping? If MM took liberties with HK’s person, I personally would have kneed him. There is much speculation….why did she not pursue it?…..why was he not terminated on the spot? Who knows? But, I do know one thing. …..there is no answer.

This is n age-old battle……it will never be won. As my Gran would say…”boys will be men, and men will be BOYS”. Isn’t that an interesting way of looking at it?

I know men walk outside their marriages but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and think he did nothing wrong to HK. If for no other reason for his wife and kids. Hi CeeCee,

CeeCee…girlfriend…you are so LUCKY!!!!! I mean…not only do you have two older brothers who are gentlemen, it seems to me that your husband is ALSO a gentleman. Girl…again, you’re LUCKY!!!!! Me…sadly, not so much. (1) Over half of my ex-boyfriends are STILL (to this day) CLUELESS LOWLIFES. (2) Here it is the year 2014 and there is STILL a L-O-T of male chauvinism going on in my family (especially on me and my deceased mom’s side of the family). Dumb as hell.

Back in the day, when I was growing up, my parents (ESPECIALLY MY MOM!!!!!) were VERY HARDCORE SERIOUS about me (1) treating women with respect and (2) respecting my elders. My parents were BEYOND SERIOUS about this!!!!! Therefore, I learned EARLY!!!!!

As an openly gay male, when I was growing up, I always felt like one of the girls (lol). Guess what??? I STILL feel like one of the girls (lol). Yep.

As far as I’m concerned, there will ALWAYS be construction workers at construction sites who act like (IMO) OVERGROWN college frat boys. To me, it is what it is.

    Take care, CeeCee. Peace.

Michael Muhney was in Australia for two weeks representing VERONICA MARS at OzComicCon, along with two of his co-stars, Jason Dhoring and Percy Daggs III. It was a big deal for Brisbane and Sydney and lots of stars were there representing shows. Actors were doing panels, having dinners with fans, posing with fans and granting interviews.

Does that help? Australians are crazy for VERONICA MARS. Michael was great in that prime time series which now has a cult-like following.

In the real-world it doesn’t. There are companies that keep people on who have had more than one complaint against them.

Also someone isn’t let go on the spot there has to be an investigation into the allegation and while that happens the accused can be suspended or on a modified workn schedule where theyvwork from home. Or in a case like this Sony would just have to keep MM and HK off of the set at the same time and the actors not work together.

Also, I have no doubt he was targeted for a smear campaign. He had the audacity to speak about being fired right after it happened and fans were irate with the show. The rumors on the soap boards came out not long after with endless posts in threads about his guilt–with zero evidence–yet, when something positive about him came out it was always deleted. ( I now strongly suspect moderators on soap boards are connected to the soaps they monitor in some way.)

I think before you guys give your allegiance to someone that you dont know personally or have a REAL daily contact with we all just need to move on from this story. How many times have people said oh my neighbor would never do something, only to find kidnapped people hidden in secret rooms or basements.

Things were handled badly by all. Also for those that throw out the claim why didnt she press charges. Unfortunately when networks Execs and Network Lawyers get involved, there priority is usually to just make things go away, and FAST. Most networks dont want to deal with Scandals, so many times if and when things like this go down, they try to tidy these situations up very fast and move on.

And before Im attacked, I dont know if anything happened or not. But if it did, they have people on this stuff so fast to make it go away just as fast as the rumor started. As a person that has worked on many TV and Movie sets, I dont trust a lot of these lawyers on sets. There goal is to look out for the Network, not the actress’s involved. So before you guys bash her or question why didnt she do something, you guys should understand there are many more people involved in these things. Many times telling young actresses not to press charges and make trouble for the network.

In my opinion, Michael Muhney did the exact correct thing. He let the viciousness and unaccountability running ramport on social media … let it all wear itself out, and now he is denying it. The one thing you do NOT want to do is keep this kind of garbage constantly in the headlines. And there was no one person accountable for these rumors … there were certain people who could have denied them and chose not to do so … but those actions are not covered under defamation.

For those commentors asking why he was in Australiia, he was there for a two-week series of appearances on behalf of Veronica Mars (so much for the rumors that he was hated at VM also) and gave his interview at that time to an Australian magazine.

I do not believe he was frustrated because of overwork ,,, he loves to act, to discuss, to interact with others … he would be on stage every hour of every day. Rather, I believe his frustration was with EP and writers’ version of Adam … he was always at arms length how he believed his character should be depicted and with whom he should be interacting. I think the artist in him wanted to leave; the father/family man who depended on a steady check kept signing two-year contracts. His last
two-year contract was entered into six month prior to his termination; for him I believe hope sprang eternal that he could bring his character to the heights Muhney believed that Adam belonged. JFP, notoriously without patience, got tired of arguing with him … and decided to let him go, wihout foresight and awareness of his popularity. No one actor will create or destroy a show but losing MS, BM and MM put a dent in JFP’s popularity.

At any rate, I believe MM made great attempts, to large degrees, to believe that the most contradictory actions for him would ultimately succeed. They didn’t; he should have seen it coming ,,,, let’s hope he’s learned from that … and I for one am looking forward to his two movies upcoming and to those “balls in the air” not yet mentionable but hopefully soon to bounce his (and my) way.

Also, assuming MM is innocent and didn’t want to stir the pot when he was dismissed, why do it now — when you’ve already been let go and are supposedly moving on? Y&R was just a soap (although to us fans it’s often more than that) and MM surely feels he is destined for greater things. Maybe he should concentrate on those and decide NOT to live in the past. BTW I have no idea whether he’s innocent or guilty — and I no longer care since he is no longer with Y&R and apparently never coming back. Injustice happens every day, it becomes a bigger injustice when you cannot recognize it for what it is and let go. Sometimes knowing you’re right is the only justice there is … JMO

Maybe TV Guide’s Michael Logan, Melody Thomas-Scott, or Doug Davidson, but they never actually made and accusation. They implied there was “more to the story” and it wasn’t Jill Farren Phelps’ fault. He flatly stated that he would have taken legal action if he could, but there was no case there, plus it was a no-win situation for him. Some would believe him, others wouldn’t. Personally whatever happened they should have given him the option to quit- to give the lovely ” I want to spend more time with my family” or the ever popular “I want to purse other projects” excuse– it would have saved the show and MM a lot of hassle if they just gave fans that spin for his leaving. But I find it interesting these items about MM seem to always come out prior to something concerning Adam is about to happen. I think the character is coming back this month– great way to refresh everyone’s memory.

MM has grounds to fight this, but he keeps making excuses. The latest: NOT wanting to be THAT guy! The guy who defends himself against … lies? If he’s being honest, he can clear his name; he even has a witness (a producer). Instead, he says he wants to move on, yet he just keeps talking, and he’s about to convince me of one thing: Notoriety has its payday! I guess the more you talk, the more it’s worth. I’ve reached the point where it no longer matters who’s wrong/who’s right as long as it’s OVER!

Michael has his right to openly talk about his departure from the series, and I’m certainly glad he did. I never believed the trash reported about him; he’s always appeared to have been upstanding guy and always stuck up for the rights of soaps. If he had done what TMZ accused him of, he would’ve been fired immediately by CBS and Sony; he wouldn’t have been given the weeks to wrap his story up. He would’ve been suspended without pay, and if allegations were true, then he would’ve been served as termination from day of suspension. But no, he was given time to wrap the Adam storyline up. And I think people continuing to slam him with the allegations, and issues threats and negativity his way, when he’s been nothing but a positive person to the soap community, is disgusting. And while I wish he were returning as Adam, he deserves a better role that he can immerse himself into, daytime or primetime. I’m proud of Michael, and will follow him wherever he shall go.

I totally agree with Scott. Michael Muhney has never said one bad thing about his co-stars since he left Y&R. Sadly, it can’t be said about them. Braeden, Thomas-Scott, St. John, Rikaart, Morrow, Doug Davidson, Christel Khalil, Eileen Davidson, & Jerry Douglas all proved themselves to be exactly who and what they really are: petty, backstabbing hypocrites. How Muhney put up with these weasels as long as he did is the biggest question mark, but he loved playing Adam Newman. Sharon Case is obviously the classiest remaining member of the Y&R cast IMO. I wish Michael Muhney all the best and look forward to seeing his new films in the coming year.

Also over 60% of people that experience sexual assault do not report it to police for various reasons.Hunter reported it to brass at the show and Muhney was let go as he should have been. What he says to Australians in an interview and what he tweeted back in December & recently about almost being rehired are polar opposite statements.Sounds like he hasn’t admitted the error of his ways or made amends to his victim so I daresay he won’t get too far in the industry.

EB gave an interview after the alleged accusations against MM..
EB’s interview was very straight forward as EB is, and it was missed by most..
I read the whole interview and everytime I tell what EB said, his words, as to what was happening, it gets deleted because, I assume, mods think I am making it up, I am not.. lol
It was EB’s only interview and quite revealing.. and a whole new insight as to why MM was let go..

Michael Muhney got burned by the soap press. He’s not going to talk to them now. What good would come of it? Most of the soap press is in the back pockets of the producers and networks. Their livelihoods depend on soaps. That’s why they piled it on Muhney and tried to turn the fans against him. The thing is, it never worked. Muhney’s more popular than ever. Let the deluded soap fans think what they want, he’s moved on to films. Y&R is in the rear view mirror.

Now he’s officially not ever going back to the show so appropriately he spoke out. I think he did good and I commend him for it.

I find it stunning that Michael Muhney garners the huge level of response still to this day. I think it speaks to his talent and likeability with most audiences. I don’t think anyone else gets the same number of comments on this or any other board. The man is popular as hell. General Hospital is foolish not to get him to join the show, but he may be reluctant to rejoin a soap and just stick with movies and PrimeTime.

The fact is Hunter King never acknowledged the rumor, Michael never acknowledge the rumor and no from Sony/CBS acknowledged the rumor. People bought into a poster SharonRocks who no one even knows anything about, TMZ took it and ran with it. Even though the poster may not be an “official” source, Michael and Hunter should proceed with some type of legal action against him/her, because they have in essence without valid, proof or creditability damaged both these actors career. Unfortunately the public is so easily manipulated with rumors/gossip because they feed on negativity. At the end of the day, Michael’s only judge and jury is his family and they support his truth, what the public says should mean squat to him and Hunter. But unfortunately for them both, they will probably have to explain this publicity of events to any future jobs they may be up for. And maybe Michael is talking now because he was actually interviewed by a creditable source and asked the question directly.

Muhney stated, in interview after interview, that he was a very driven, hard-working actor who did not like how actors were treated by the industry. Again, if you check the timing of his firing, you’ll see that it was right about the time that Billy Miller announced that he would be leaving Y&R because the show couldn’t come to an agreement with outs for Miller. My guess? Muhney voiced, and not quietly, that he didn’t agree with that, that Miller and the other actors should have outs to be able to hone their skills and someone (my personal guess, JFP herself) didn’t approve of his “rocking the boat.”

The people who immediately jumped onto the bandwagon after the allegations came from an anonymous source posted on a soap opera web site, which was forwarded to TMZ.com, about the “groping,” not once, but supposedly twice and in front of Max Ehrich (Fenmore), of Hunter King were Melody Thomas Scott, Doug Davidson, Eileen Davidson (who wasn’t even on the show at the time), Eric Braeden (who had only recently stated on Twitter what a great person Muhney was) and Jerry Douglas, who has never worked with Muhney but has “heard stories” about him, according to his interview on this matter.

Seems to me it was a massive set-up from the get-go. The ONLY official word that has ever come out of CBS/Sony Television/Y&R is from a senior VP of Daytime Programming, who made the comment (officially to SOD) that they were told by JFP/the show that they were “changing the character” and needed to let Mr. Muhney out of his contract. That was the end of it. And that’s exactly what Muhney stated JFP told him when she let him go.

I only wonder this … were things getting so sticky between Muhney and Eric Braeden (old and new guard) in the last six months he was on Y&R that he truly was asking to either quit or be fired, because he had happily signed a new two-year contract in April of 2012…

Not long after MM signed that two-year contract, things got ugly on Y&R’s set. Jealousy raised its head and Braeden had a falling out with Muhney. They never settled their differences and it got progressively worse over the Summer of last year. Things got particularly tense after the Emmys and then the whole blow up between Josh Griffith and Phelps happened. She got him fired and the blood was in the water as Michelle Stafford had walked out and then the Billy Miller contract disaster happened. Things BTS at Y&R got toxic and Braeden made a concerted effort to purge Muhney. They could barely share the same sound stage together and the cast knew who would win. Muhney was miserable on Y&R by the end of 2013. Phelps knew there was a window she could dump Muhney and pulled the trigger in mid-December. She miscalculated on the level of fan backlash and it blew up the internet. Fans were pissed, so then to cover her ass, the smear began by her stooges in the soap press. TV Guide’s Michael Logan started the whole smear with his tweets to MTS, who was on Braeden’s team. She was happy to help, along with Doug Davidson & Kristoff St. John. Of course, some others piled on like Greg Rikaart and Eileen Davidson. Jerry Douglas is a wannabe, so he took the opportunity to knife Muhney based on his desire to get press. The result is a fanbase still divided and Phelps being the most hated woman in all of soaps. This whole situation is right out of Phelps’ playbook of mismanagement. There will always be ill will from a substantial number of former Y&R viewers. The show has faltered with the David Tom disaster and Steve Farren Burton being shoved down the audiences’ throats. It has been roundly criticized by the fans and now the Chuckie Pratt era is about to begin. Things are dark at Y&R, while Muhney has moved on to film projects one after another. He says he’s happier away from Y&R. From a fans perspective, I’d say he has every right to feel that way now.
