51 November 20th, 2016 Moses Comes Home For Thanksgiving On Y&R; Dax Randall Takes Over The Role Of Neil’s Son!

Courtesy/CBS

Thanksgiving is time for your favorite soap opera families to gather round the table, and gather together for a turkey feast, and to make us at home all sentimental.  This Turkey Day on The Young and the Restless, Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) young son, Moses is back in Genoa City!

This time the role will be played by child actor Dax Randall.  Look for him on the Tuesday, November 22nd episode of the CBS sudser.

As Y&R fans know, Moses is the bio-son of Sofia (Julia Pace Mitchell) and Neil.  In story, Moses will be in Genoa City this holidays hanging out with his dad, without mom in tow.

No word yet as to whether Moses will stick around with the Winters/Ashby clan for Christmas, but it would be nice for Neil to get some on-screen family time with his son.

So, should Y&R keep Moses on the canvas now? Do you think the show will ultimately SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) him sooner than later?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I would love to see Neil in love. He is long overdue for a good story and a good woman. Especially after the crap he went through with Devon and Hilary. Not to mention his mother. He needs to be doing more than just babysitting his grandchildren. He is to talented to be seen coloring. Let this talented actor use his gift

  3. Mo says:

If they aged Moses, they’d have to age Matty and her twin, can’t think of his name, and I like the actors who play Lily and Cane’s twins so I say no to aging Moses.

    Mrs Kravitz replied

Yep–don’t age Moses unless he spends the night on a mountain top and comes down from it with a stone tablet in his hand.

I knew you would get it. Sweet, smart and god in your heart, what else could you ask for!

    Celia replied

Awwwwww!! Thank you Timmmy, my love. As my husband would say: “Your wit is my command”.
His sense of humor is much like yours.
Remember the time when soaps had those rare characters with special witty retorts for comic relief? Richard Burgi had that gift….but, ‘they’ got rid of him. Roger Howarth had the IT factor as Todd….and, so did Trevor. Now, Roger as Franco has turned the corner. He is not fun anymore; you know, not the same with Elizabeth. I know Nina is not an embraceable character….but, golly gee, Timmmy, Elizabeth just brings me down, down, down….it ‘kinda’ trickles dooown to Franco.
Another is John Aniston (Days’ Victor). They have, indeed, become a rare breed.

    Jude is the man!

I wish Richard Burgi was written different. Y&R should hire him to butt heads with Victor. When you get two good actors together, its magic! Remember how good Ray Wise was with Eric Braeden!

The whole Liz and Franco thing is a disaster!

They have tried every which way to fit Michelle Stafford into the show. Its a bust!

    Soaphound replied

Yes, Celia, they’ve stripped Roger of his wicked, offbeat humor, the same way they’ve tried to bury Billy Miller’s normally ebullient personality. Sam, too (Kelly Monaco was actually bright and charming on DANCING WITH THE STARS). But we still have our dear Jane Elliott and Tracy’s barbs. And I always get a few giggles when Dr. Finn and Liesl go at it and the twice-a-year treat of seeing Brad. But that’s about it in the fun department.

    Soaphound replied

Oh, Timmm, thank you for echoing my sentiments. That airhead turned savvy businesswoman overnight has the nerve to lecture about family and Sharon’s sins when she JUST threw her whole family under the bus to marry that strutting peacock
Luca? Kettle, meet Pot! I welcome more “Winter (s)” over Summer also.

I agree with both you and Timmm. Billy, Roger and Michelle are unrecognizable. Where did they go?
Yes, Jane, Eric, Ray….all exellent foils and buffers.
And, I do enjoy the on-going cold war between Liesl and Finn….it would be complete if Faison were to return.
I just love him. His weirdness is like no other’s.

Speaking of long lost children when are they ever going to mention Victoria’s first born son REED again—-Right now they are portraying her as this paragon of motherhood, but she hasn’t even mentioned him in so long it is laughable—- but truth be told on soaps children are rarely used properly– there are exceptions– they have a little gem in the girl who plays Faith- but normally, once they are out of diapers you rarely see the kids until they are SORAS to be rebellious teens.

    diane replied

They are waiting until he can come back as a bratty 16 year old..lol.I’m shocked Faith is not 21 yet. Summer was born a couple of years after Cassie died, so she should be about 17years younger then Mariah. She is more like 4 years younger. do they think we don’t noticed these things!!

    soapqueenforever replied

Remember how hysterical she was when he left. They use to have scenes where Victoria would video chat with him, or oncemin a while he would be playing video gaames with Billy. Now it seems like he’s gone with the wind

    Mo replied

I think it’s hard enough to have good story for characters actually on-screen, so those that are not get left out, which I understand even if I don’t always like it.

    Celia replied

Oh, yeah, Mary….as I said, these writers ( of soaps in general) give mothers a bad name.
Another ” great” character with maternal instincts is Chelsea.
Having handed Johnny, her firstborn ( as far as we know….she is probably in the habit of giving birth and then giving the babies away), to Billy and Victoria is one thing. But, never seeking a stolen look or moment with Johnny? Shouldn’t there be an emotional pull there somewhere? I don’t know….it’s a soap., I guess. It boggles the mind how some of these women are portrayed as airheads with needle in hand; literally.
It’s just weird….Chelsea is so consumed with Christian and everything ‘Nick’, she forgets Connor. Where is he? Playing with Bella alone in the penthouse, while their mothers are gallivanting around town?
    These writers need a shake-down.

    Reply

    Mo replied

Chelsea hasn’t raised Johnny. To her, he is Victoria and Billy’s son.

They do mention Connor, but you can’t have a kid hanging around in every scene just to satisfy some viewers.

    k/kay replied

Yes and lets all remember Victoria lost that child due to dear old dad gosh Sally & Kay have their work cut out for them to get back to character devlopment

    Celia replied

    @Mo.
Well, Mo, I disagree. Your opinion is not mine. ….. it makes no difference that Chelsea gave her son away. Only an insensitive, unfeeling, self-centered, woman/mother lacks the instinct to see HER son, the kid in which she bore. But, I guess you forgot how Chelsea came to be….
    Then, again, it’s a soap.
And, yes, viewers should be satisfied….now, now Mo. Be nice.

Pregnancies seem to be favorite plot devices but writers then are saddled with the children and then what? Either integrate them into the story with some genuine story lines about parenting and family… or please, just don’t have them! SORASing is not a good option in many cases as it only adds to the incredulity of future characters’ situations.

bring Aunt Liv back for the holidays at least and back in neils life!
With sally back as headwriter a jack/ liv/ neil triangle would be a real heavy meaty story with three legacy characters and a nice nod to john / aunt mamies affair years ago
a interacial love is what y n r needs right now to do a socially current story on daytime
all three players have history together
ofcourse to really make this a quadrangle would be for sally to make a drucilla comeback possible!!

Victoria Rowell is suing CBS / SONY so I don’t think she will be returning anytime ! Unfortunate cause I really liked her character!

Agreed, Tammy. Victoria is one in a million, as an actress. When she spoke, we listened. She had that certain air and magnetism that simply drew attention. Love her still.

    Celia replied

I guess you haven’t heard, Linda. Backlash, disputes, and back stage drama. Ahhh, to be a fly on the wall!!

    Reply

    Mo replied

Yes, I think the drama that would come with Victoria Rowell would not make CBS want to hire her. I would like to see her on Y&R (wasn’t watching when she was on before), but again, the other stuff that she brings would not be wanted. I’m sure if Y&R offered her a job, she might drop her lawsuit.

She is getting other acting jobs so she can’t be that bad to work with. I just wonder what really went down when she was at Y&R.

    Timmm replied

    Hi Sami,
Sage had just found out (At Sharon’s) that Sully was really Christian. She left Sharon’s in a really ‘bad’ way, to tell Nick. Unfortunately she was involved in a car accident and died. The secret of the true baby’s identity dying with her.

    Mo replied

The secret didn’t die with her as Sharon and Patty knew.

    Celia replied

    @Mo.
Obviously. You know exactly what I meant, Mo. Must you rebuke everything I , and everyone else says?
As far as Sharon knew, the secret did die with Sage. We knew otherwise.
The other person who knows is the infamous nurse!
Go ahead. You have the floor.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

  15. Shannon Barnes says:

That is so true. If you can remember back to when Nick and Victoria were kids. At a point they were small around 5&6. Then maybe a couple years later. They both were coming back from boarding school.

  16. Mo says:

Well, that was pretty much for naught. They could have had a doll playing Moses. As soon as he arrived, he got shipped off to the other room. We saw him again at CL, but I’m sure he’ll be in the back soon because how can a baby help dish out food?
