While we previously posted how well-deserved The Bold and the Beautiful‘s nomination and win in the Daily Drama category for the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards is for its inclusion of LGBTQ characters into their storytelling on daytime, one needs to look no further than the organization’s recogition of primetime drama series to see that their are 8 nominees in the category. That is a far cry for daytime who was once the social issue trendsetter in television.
Nominations this year for the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Award honors in the Outstanding Drama Series are: Arrow, Black Sails, Empire, The Fosters, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Nashville, Orphan Black, Sense 8, and Shameless.
The awards in categories spanning motion picture, television, and journalism will be handed out in two separate ceremonies; in Los Angeles on April 2, 2016, and in New York 0n May 14th. To view the entire list of nominees in all categories click here.
