10 April 10th, 2017 NASHVILLE Renewed For Season 6; Jeff Nordling Joins The Cast!

Great news Monday for Nashies!  CMT’s Nashville has been renewed for its sixth season and its only halfway through its fifth~

For season 6, the cable network ordered a 16-episode season to premiere early next year. Additionally, CMT has set June 1 for the midseason premiere of Season 5.

In casting news, former Desperate Housewives and Big Little Lies star, Jeff Nordling has joined the cast in a recurring role.  Nordling will play Brad Maitland, who is said to be an extremely successful, charming, egotistical, narcissistic owner of the most successful record label in Nashville.

According to Deadline, Nashville has done very well at CMT since moving to the network from its original home at ABC. The series, which wrapped its 13-episode Season 5 winter season last month punctuated by the death of Connie Britton’s Rayna James, ranks as the highest-rated and most-watched show in the network’s history, averaging 2.1M weekly viewers in L+7. Nashville has lifted CMT, whose total day ratings are up 19% with adults 18-49 and 25% with women 18-49.

To announce the renewal on Monday, series stars Charles Esten (Deacon) and Hayden Panettiere (Juliette) took to facebook live to tell the world and their crew the big news! Watch it here.

Doesn’t ABC realize yet how many fans stopped watching ABC when they said no more soaps or scripted entertainment? I didn’t start watching till the show moved to CMT! We want our soaps! So happy for Nashville!

And now my cable company done and removed CMT from my package. Thank God for other streaming opportunities!

ABC bungled this wonderful show. And the new show runners have saved it from being a footnote in the What Might Have Been book. Will always miss Connie Britton and Rayna James though. Still, a death in story or real life does bring out good and bad and new directions. Although some people are needed to help others succeed, even the most loved people in our lives can sometimes be roadblocks to growth.

Happy to see it renewed. Horrible CMT beginning; starting to pick up and become good again. Get rid of the gospel church story paleeeeeez, lol. Concentrate on the remaining cast we know and love…

    Looking forward!

Good for NASHVILLE. This show has finally become watchable with Zwick and Herskovitz in charge. They should’ve taken over years ago.

  8. Nik says:

I knew when they went to CMT they would have a better life. Great news.
