On Wednesday morning, Elizabeth Jackson, the mother of former One Life to Live star Nathaniel Martson (Ex-Al Holden and Michael McBain), posted an update on her facebook page on the ongoing recovery and status of her son after his horrific car accident over last weekend.

Jackson reports Nathaniel is scheduled for surgery today relating:  “Thank you for your love prayers and positive thoughts which ARE making a difference. Nathaniel is going into surgery this afternoon at 12:30 PST. His last surgery to alleviate pressure on the spine went very well and Nate is taking some breaths on his own. Today Dr.s will do their best to repair breaks in his neck and stabilize his neck. Thanks you again for your love prayers and support. I will update everyone as soon as I have more news . Warm wishes from me, my family and Nathaniel.”

Meanwhile, the Nevada Highway Patrol has released premilinary results and a report on the accident that caused Nathaniel’s injuries, and in a statement on Marston’s official fan page it reveals:  “Nathaniel was critically injured in a single-car crash on Friday, October 30 in rural Nevada. According to local highway patrol and tribal police, no drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.  A preliminary investigation has lead police to believe that Marston was fatigued and fell asleep while driving. The vehicle drifted into the opposite lane and it is believed that when Marston awoke he over-corrected, causing his pickup truck to flip several times. He was ejected from the vehicle through the windshield and upon landing crushed several vertebrae in his neck and back. Remarkably, he suffered no head trauma.”

Entertainment Tonight also reported that the Highway Patrol also noted that Marston, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Please continue to keep Nathaniel in your prayers as he continues to fight and go through his surgeries and recovery.  Then weigh-in on your thoughts on the Nevada Highway Patrol’s preliminary investigation of the accident.

Lucky to be alive, long rehab ahead of him with nothing certain. Hes needs lots of prayers. No seatbelt, driving when tired, not smart choices.

I hope he gets recovery that allows him a good quality of life. Also that he realizes if he chose to wear that seat belt his injuries may have been much less severe. Choices make the difference. God Bless.

Please don’t forget Nathaniel as “yesterday’s news” Met him at Daytime Stars and Strikes event in NYC. Was a very genuine and cool man to talk to….we miss actors with the sincerity he gave us on OLTL, too few of them today. He has had his share of bad times, hoping better times ahead for Nathaniel and his loved ones. And please don’t use his situation to blow your own horn onl issues….let’s keep this page positive for Nathaniel and his family.
