1 January 13th, 2011 OLTL, GH, B&B and Y&R get DGA Nominations!

The Directors Guild Of America has announced the nominees for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in the Daytime Serials category.

One Life to Live scored two nominations for its directors Larry Carpenter and Jill Mitwell, each for an episode of Starr X’d Lovers that aired in May. General Hospital’s Owen Renfroe was nominated for July’s “Francophrenia” episode, taped on location at Los Angeles’ Museum Of Contemporary Art (MOCA). The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful round out the field. The 63rd Annual DGA Awards will take place on Saturday, January 29, at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles, CA.

    My pick to win this will be Michael Stich from B&B for the “A Reason To Live, Part I” for the heartbreaking scenes during the two part episodes featuring Susan Flannery on Skid Row that took place I think back in October. There is no way the other two shows will be able to top that.
