One Life to Live and High School Musical Star, Corbin Bleu is blogging each week at AccessHollywood.com his journey on this season’s Dancing with the Stars on ABC.

In his first post today, Bleu reveals why he wanted to wait to finally compete in the ballroom dance floor series after being asked multiple times to join the DWTS Cast: “For me, it was still coming relatively close off of ‘High School Musical.’ … That’s the thing about the show, it’s a wonderful opportunity to promote and a wonderful opportunity to show people who you are. … I really wanted to be able to grow and just transform myself as an artist and as a person first. I wanted to be able to go off and do things like I did with Broadway and doing all these movies where I’m playing all these sort of crazy characters and being able to do the soap (‘One Life To Live)] — all these projects. I’m working as a producer and establishing my business.

Corbin also revealed that on tonight’s second episode of the Dancing with the Stars 17th season, that he and his partner Karina Smirnoff, will be dancing the Jive but with a theme of a tribute to his High School Musical days:  “Our contemporary (dance routine) was very intimate and more passionate in terms of a love relationship and very ethereal and then our jive [will have a theme]. … I said [to Karina], ‘Why don’t we do a ‘High School Musical’ tribute?’ … Like a swan song to our youth… I get a chance to show people where I came from and in turn, you get a chance to see the difference to where I am now.” Are you looking forward to Corbin’s second dance tonight?  Are you rooting him on?  What do you think about his decision to wait till now till after he got more acting credits under his belt, before he went back into show that featured his dancing?  Comment below!

Nobody cares. I certainly don’t think of him as being this year’s soap representative, let alone the first from “One Life to Live.”

I am really upset that he and ABC failed to mention his OLTL credits. What a loser!

i was disappointed too but i think it has to do with not only the fact that abc dumped the show, but also the lawsuit going on between them and prospect park; they’re not going to mention a show they both dumped completely and are now fighting the company that tried to save it; i believe legally corbin probably couldnt mention the show at all; so technically not his fault; i mean, he had no problem bringing it up (at least saying ‘the soap’) to access hollywood, so maybe not quite the loser some may think he is

I will only vote for him if he or the hosts mention that he has been a part of OLTL. This OLTL part may have helped jump start his career, and he should acknowledge it.

i doubt the show will be mentioned; abc dumped it and are involved in that lawsuit with pp over it. so its prob gonna be a legal issue with anyone on there including corbin, being able to mention oltl.
