34 February 20th, 2014 On Her Last Tape Day, GH’s Departing Kimberly McCullough Interviews Brooklyn Rae Silzer!

We may be late to the party with this one, and many General Hospital fans may have seen this already, but it’s just so cute, endearing, and touching given that Kimberly McCullough has wrapped up her latest return as Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake that we wanted to share it at On-Air On-Soaps!

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, McCullough reveals in her farewell interview that on her last day on the set, she was given lots of presents from her co-star, Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma).  Next, she interviewed the little girl who has played her on-screen daughter so magnificently.

During Brooklyn’s interview, Kimberly asked her, what was her favorite scene that she has ever done on General Hospital?  To which Brooklyn replies: “When you came back and I saw you and I said, “Mommy!”  When Kimberly followed up as to why it was her favorite, Brooklyn said, “It’s because you came back and I never got to work with you”.

Kimberly revealed to Brooklyn that her favorite part of her return this time was getting to work with her, and getting to hang out with her too!  Later in the video, Jason Thompson (Patrick) enters the frame and you will see what happens there!

Watch Kimberly’s video with Brooklyn after the jump! Then, let us know your thoughts on it!

Before KM left, why couldnt they film extra scenes of Robin with Patrick and Emma on skype with her or visiting Robin which includes Anna as well…maybe some half dozen five to ten minute scenes spread throughout the year? Now if Robin returns again for another few months in the distant future(if at all), will she leave again for the same reason? Why not have her leave to help find a cure for some illness in another country that would make more sense? And it bugs me that Monica and Sam arent told that Jason is possibly still alive!!!

And as much as i still like and continue to watch GH, it, with its villians and bringing and attempt to bring others back from the dead, the show has become a cartoonish, campy mad monster party…but not like that cool 60s puppet movie with the same title which was far better written with continuity and made more sense!…lol

I thought she worked with Brooklyn’s Emma when Robin was leaving Patrick to go to Africa/Seattle when she thought she was going to die and it was their last Christmas.

You are correct. Kimberly & Brooklyn at least worked together on the Xmas 2011 episodes where Robin thought she was dying & left that video for Patrick to move on. Just watched one of the episodes on YouTube. Odd that neither one would recall that. Maybe not Brooklyn being so young, but who could forget working with that adorable little girl?!

Too cute. Love how KMc shares these videos of her co-stars, namely her on screen daughter, Brooklyn (yummy:). The gifts are so sweet, Brooklyn is well spoken and out going. Love that Brooklyn is into looming and her watermelon nails.

Then Jason stopping in, they all just work together and wonderfully:)

Not looking forward to the goodbye scenes, but going to be “brave” and watch, sniff, sniff…

Brooklyn is a better and more talented actress than a few of the adult actresses on the show (Kiki-ugh)! I love her scenes with the little boys that play Cam and Spencer. The three of them are so cute and talented!

Very sweet! She is such a great little actress. I hope the show execs keep her on as long as she wants to stay….and avoid that urge to ‘super-age’ her at some point. Remember, they never did that with Robin, and that worked out amazingly!

I Truly enjoyed Kimberly’s interview with Brooklyn. I also watched many of the other interviews Kimberly did with her fellow actors. NOW…[even tho I am sad she is leaving-AGAIN! :( ] I finally understand WHY Kimberly is led to leave GH!! She has a wonderful gift for getting to the TRUE heart of whomever she is working with! Watching these interviews has given me insight to the actors–the PEOPLE they are inside! I feel blessed to know them as the characters they portray…I LOVE the characters they portray…But Kimberly has given me the added blessing of getting to know them as real people… THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THESE GIFTS,Kimberly…..I look forward to seeing YOUR gifts flourish in the work you do! <3 <3

First, you lost me at your ‘Buh bye” salutation. Come on, that is so 1990′s. Get with it.
Second, for you to miss the fact that Robin’s character was sacrificed in order to prop up Sparkle Pony speaks volumes about your inability to recognize irony. Mommy is bad, so poor Emma will have no choice but to embrace that insipid Disney cartoon which escaped from Snow White’s cottage,

Harry…while I must admit your rather cutting remark was tres witty…I for one disagree with you. I don’t think Robin was “sacrificed”…I think the writers are acquiescing to Kimberly’s wishes to pursue her path…while leaving the door open for her return. At the same time, if they are intending to bring back Jason…it’s a good segue.

Though this subject has been exhausted…obviously Robin et family would have remained intact had she wanted to stay with the show. She doesn’t. So…we are still not sure if Patrick and Sabrina will be reunited…maybe Ron will feel out fan feedback. I for one would like to see Patrick and Sabrina (and baby makes four) together. I like them together and it would add even more conflict should Robin return. On the other hand, Sabrina has shown she has pride…I’m not even sure she would take Patrick back knowing the only reason he’d turn to her yet again (if indeed he does) is because Robin left.

And I love seeing the little princess Emma with Snow White…they’re “magical” together!

    Shay replied

rebecca1….While Robin may not exactly be “sacrificed,” she is not being sent off on a positive note, either…and that is extremely unnecessary. There were dozens of ways to creatively accommodate KMc’s need to depart without making her look like a monster for leaving behind her child or dragging the gone but not lamented Jason into this ridiculous farewell….not to mention the spectre of reviving two of the most loathsome creatures that deserve to stay dead…been there, done that! There were much more noble motives that you and I, and many others could imagine to usher out Robin’s character, for the time being. And Patrick and Emma could have temporarily accompanied her for a mini-happy wrap-up. But no….there is a reason that Dr. Scorpio-Drake’s reputation must be sullied before she goes, and the only reason I can gather is to make a certain someone look better by comparison, and ease her intrusion back into the life of Robin’s family…I so hope I am wrong, but I cannot think otherwise. As for Emma and her former babysitter, I don’t find them “magical” together….nauseating is a far better description. I preferred Liz’s motherly handling, as it was much more mature and advisable for this little girl…who rapidly became one of the brattiest and most annoying youth characters under the influence of the “babymama.” (Sadly, this has now spread to Spencer, as well….where he was once the perfect young gentleman, he has now also turned into an absolute obnoxious nightmare….)

    rebecca1 replied

Shay…for Patrick and Emma to follow Robin on some heroic mission would mean they’d be out of jobs! Since both actors are staying, there is no way they could have accompanied Robin.

I also find her leaving to revive Jason a compelling reason…in such that they had to have a reason. I don’t know many who would leave a friend to die when they could save his/her life. Yes, she’s been away far too long…yes, her child especially needs her. But, on the other hand, in this make-believe world…maybe Robin will stay in touch thru skype. (which they should actually do since it would allow Kimberly to work elsewhere but get in occasional screen time and face-to-face with her family. But I digress…

She’s leaving. Period. There isn’t any reason that would satisfy a mother leaving her child let alone her husband. But it’s a soap…the actress is leaving…so for me this reason, knowing how close she and Jason were…knowing she’s dedicated to saving lives and ESPECIALLY someone she loves…makes sense to me in this situation.

As for Sabrina and Emma…Sabrina is the one that got Emma through…she’s given her love, affection, attention, defended/protected and was there much more for Emma than LIz was. And yes, it’s a soap…but the way it was written it was Sabrina who carried Emma thru her grief.

I love Liz. Had they paired Patrick and Liz up at some point that’d be great. But they didn’t. As for Spencer…he’s a lil Cassadine. Only time will tell whether he goes bad or is a Nic the second….

  19. Charday says:

I thought Robin leaving her daughter–even to save Jason–was very cruel. Also, why couldn’t Robin take her daughter (and Patrick) with her to save Jason? That seemed to be a plot hole, no??

    Reply

    rebecca1 replied

As I said above, if Patrick and Emma went with her they’d lose their jobs! Since both actors are staying on the soap…that’s not an option.

But, aside from that, I would assume it’s not a situation where you bring a child. She’s working to bring back the almost-dead…two are murderers…and she’ll be surrounded by Cassadine’s if she’s successful. I believe in this unbelievable soap world the reason and the choices are good enough.

Rebecca1….I was not implying a permanent departure for Patrick and Emma….just a temporary one, perhaps a happy family trip, something special for the three of them to do together…maybe to Paris where Robin could have found a new challenge….something, anything less cruel than the storyline to which we were subjected???? The real truth could have come out later….it still could have even been the same scenario with Victor, with Robin striking a deal to give her one last great adventure with her husband and daughter. I have read that KMc was willing to stay longer to complete this arc, and was told that it would not be necessary, so to lay this debacle at her choice to move on to other immediate pursuits is not an accurate one. (I’m not saying you did this, but that seems to be the excuse for this hurried and unsatisfying exit….) As for “St. Sappy” being the one who “got Emma through”…well, of course she did, because that’s the way “Cartini” completely contrived it….the little girl was just fine with Liz….as Robin’s best friend, she was uniquely qualified to comfort and soothe that child, and even Dr. Scorpio-Drake herself gave Patrick her blessing for him to be with Liz when she thought her demise was at hand. What could have been more lovely than for Nurse Webber’s boys to have had a father-figure in Patrick and Emma a substitute mother in the maternal Liz? That natural coupling totally worked until the showrunners decided that they knew better and foisted the “Sabzilla” monster on Port Charles and the Drake family….it was all just TOO much, and that is why the beyond annoying nurse is looked upon as an interloper and usurper by so many of us viewers. She simply wasn’t needed then and is certainly not wanted now, hence I am hoping that we don’t have to go there again, although I wouldn’t bet on it, given the propensity of “Frank-n-Ron” to double-down on their efforts whenever they get negative feedback . As for Robin skyping her family, I would be very surprised were she allowed to have any future contact with her loved ones…she would look too much like a loving parent who cared enough to keep her word, not a woman abandoning her husband and child, and that would not play into the character trashing that seems to be in store. Again, I hope to be proven wrong on this, yet I have my doubts based upon what we have already seen.
