So sad I’m missing out! A lot of people I know who watched since the beginning can’t watch since they don’t have the internet at home either. It’s not fair since Canadians can watch on T.V. & we can’t. What a let down. I campaigned to get it back & I can’t even enjoy it.

Great to see the Llanview residents again! A great episode – with a decided edge to it. I counted “$hit” used 3 times – and I think those uses were parts of everyday conversation and seemed to fit the scene. (I certainly say it enough myself.) Not sure on what appeared to be oral sex going on in the back of the club – but it is 2013 and this is a online version, so… I think it was smart to show us a little bit of everyone during the episode to get us reacquainted. And it was ABOSOLUTELY AWESOME to see Trevor St John again. Can’t wait to see this first week unfold. Very happy to see OLTL again. Thank you to all who made this possible!

I was turned off by a lot of it, but I understood they are trying to attract a younger audience, so I’ll adjust. :)

However, that ending reveal of TSJ makes it all worthwhile! I cannot wait to see more of him, hopefully helping Tea straighten out Danni. :) Not hard to see why Danni feels so alone though.

LOVED IT… the sets were done with expert care to make sure you knew you were in Llanview. All the cast looked great..did splendid job of getting us caught up. Glad to see that VICTOR was added on the very first episode because looks like Tea could really use him. I am surprised that Todd showed up so soon but then he did get a call from Danielle. SHE is a mess. I did not find the use of strong language over the top, at least yet. The nightclub looked nice but I sure hope they don’t completely FOCUS that for the whole show. Annoying not to hear dialogue over music. Liked the theme, a little too long for me personally I am used to short ones. LOVED seeing all the “OLTL Family” back together again. LOVE that I can watch it FREE and over and over again also.

Yes Christy he looked like Walker Lawrence because he paid Walker for his likeness and Family history so he could get close to Mitch and Kill him without Mitch suspecting anything. I have a mixed reaction. I was so looking forward to seeing OLTL again!!! I am so happy it has been revived/rebooted!!!

It was great to see actors/actresses again! I just didn’t like how I saw some of them again. I am not going to stop watching at all. I just was not over joyed like hoped I would be.

I would rather not have seen almost all scenes at Shelter and hope that it will not become a character of it’s own like the Horton Town Square is for DOOL. I also would rather not see the use of the reality show with David and Dorian. I was very happy to see TSJ in the ending… however… I am assuming… possibly incorrectly… that he will be the implement used to take Todd and Victor off the canvas for a period of time or forever… I hope I am very wrong. I was so sad to see Robert/Bo back on my screen for the first time yelling at Matthew about drugs! Absolutely love Florencia/Tea and was so very sad to see her acting so crazy in the first few moments of seeing her. The drug story line is unfortunate. I still miss some of my characters if they are not truly them.

I loved that Viki, Clint, Dorian, David, Natalie and Nigel appear to be the characters I knew and loved. Blair is close… but seems like a decoration on a set at the moment. It appeared darker and would have liked it to have seemed lighter and more hopeful of great story. I got that sense from the premier of AMC.

I know it is only the first episode… but as the first… I expected it differently. Will hope that it gets better and better!!! I like the new Jeffrey character and look forward to seeing more of him… especially with Viki!

I also felt there were some small gratuitous scenes that did nothing for the story but seemed there… just because they could.

I stopped watching AMC along time ago and watched and felt that it was a much better first episode than OLTL and that disappointed me about my second favorite soap OLTL. Will remain hopeful…

I agree about Shelter. Night clubs .. dimly lit by nature, watching people drink dance, etc. is not very entertaining to me. I don’t mind having it once in a while.. but not as a mainstay. From the tons of makeup I’d seen on “Dani” on many clips and ads I was not surprised at what I saw, but not happy either. However, as long as it’s not a long time thing, I can live with it. I did not like her in any of the promos . Even the one where she said, “bring it” she was hard and I hope this will change. I read last night that Tea has been totally neglecting her since the last time we saw her, since the baby died- and that’s the reason for the drugs. That is understandable and we saw it today. But I was surprised to see this depressed Tea a tthe club. This explains Todd’s leaving Port Charles, but not why he would leave them before May 10. How they will explain that when Todd does try to be a good dad???? I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of Blair. Loved that Nigel is with Vicki. I did not like Bo screaming like that either. Have never seen that before. Give it a chance. These are new writters and no show is great all the time. I love the sets. I think there will be more gratutious scenes than is my cup of tea as well and AMC handled that much better. there may have been more sexy scenes on AMC but they were more in character and seemed less sleezy for some reason than just watching Melissa take off her clothes. I don’t know why. But I’m so glad to have them back and will certainly not judge by just today. I’m sure it will be fine. Some bad things have happened like Tea’s baby dying which have had a lot of repercussions. I am not going to repeat about the end, many people might not have seen , but I was so happy at the end.

I had the biggest smile on my face in the first scene with Viki & Clint at Llanfair but after that . . . TOO much time at the club-too dark & the awful music was overwhelming & unnecessary. Not a good way to introduce us to characters we loved who are now being played by others. I couldn’t tell who was who & what was going on. I wish Liam wasn’t so old. Good to see Clint, Bo & Nora together but weird-Bo & Matthew. Bo does not behave that way. I don’t know, I guess I was expecting for the show to pick right back up where it left off. Very glad to have it back but kind of disappointed. I think there are enough true OLTL fans who loved the show as it was-they do not need to re-invent (ruin) this show to attract younger viewers!

I watched this morning and thought the OLTL credits were awful. I also thought that Tuc Watkins stole the show and that the Tea/Blair scenes were perfect. The character reveal at the end was such a welcome sight! On a whole, though, I was underwhelmed. I think it is because the Llanview feeling just wasn’t there and the show seemed forced at times. Melissa Archer is hot but it didn’t seem necessary to have her in her underwear twice in the same episode. How about some Natalie character development instead? Is Natalie just a prop for Cutter in this version? I think the reason OLTL went out in top was that it had a cast and a writing team that understood the show’s history and respected it. I didn’t get that same vibe from the first episode (Ironically, I got just that while watchinv AMC). I’ll tune in tomorrow and hope it gets better. I want both OLTL and AMC to succeed. I just can’t help feeling that while PP sues ABC for destroying characters, they are guilty if it themselves.

The actors said to give it time (actors of both shows) but I agree AMC was better today. Not every day of OLTL or AMC was fabulous in the past (or of any show) so don’t give up on One Life. I found much of it interesting. My problem is that the bar is a big part of the show, and I’ve never liked watching those kind of scenes. It’s by nature poorly lit, and watching people dance and drink is not that interesting. That said the sets are gorgeous, and I really liked a quite a bit. And the end—- made me happy. I agree about the opening. It will not hold up over time and I think they will change it. The song is okay. To me it kind of talks about the new beginning for OLTL. The Cosby show changed their opening very often, sometimes alternated within a season. If they do that on OL it will be fine.

It isn’t a brand new show. Neither is AMC. I agree that one show captured the feel of the beloved brand (AMC) and one show didn’t(OLTL) . We are all entitled to our opinions however “Give it time” just doesn’t fly when AMC is in the same boat and successfully brought Pine Valley to life in episode one. Sadly, OL went out at the top of its game. So many fans bash the Frank/Ron team Yet they delievered an incredible show to the very end. It is a tough act to follow.Expectations are higher for OL, I think, and OL will need to step up its game to keep viewers IMO.

and AMC is the one that needs for the stories to take off…..

Todd and Blair look so good together.

David LOL… his entrance was hilarious….

I hope they don’t delve too much in to the reality show tho…. Dorian doesn’t need all that bickering…

I totally agree with you Callie. A decent mom wouldnt walk around like that with children in the house!

    Kate replied

These posts with “so what if Liam walks out” are ridiculous. My son may be in the other room sleeping one moment and walking out wide awake the next. Some people on here are so blinded, they just won’t hear anything other than their own voices. Callie’s thinking isn’t “in the 50s” – she is thinking like a mom who wants to set a good example for her kids.

    Joliefan Forever replied

Really Kate? Her thinking is in the 50′s. I AM A MOM and I have laid down on my couch wrapped up in a blanket in my under garments and my son was sleeping, and if he woke up it is called TAKE THE BLANKET WITH YOU! Some ppl are so in the 50′s with their thinking that they take something completely innocent and make it out to be that Natalie is some terrible mother for wrapping up in a blanket while her son slept and missing her sons DAD!!!

Just because there are less restrictions on the internet doesn’t mean the envelope needs to be pushed that far. It will make some viewers tune out and I don’t want that!

I think everyone is just so happy to see these shows/characters back that they are willing to forgive a lot. I’m going to reserve my opinion for a couple of weeks to give it time to gel and to see what the vets/newbies story ratio will be. Will be curious to see if people stay tuned in. I heard that they have to have at least 500,000 views per day for PP to break even and continue. Let’s hope they do get better and that they can get those #s and people stick with it.

I loved every second of the show. Everyone looks wonderful. I am so glad to see all my beloved friends again. Some people were worried about this show being a cheap imitation of what were had known on TV. There was nothing cheap about what I saw. The sets, the wardrobe, the use of extras are all top notch. I immediately felt drawn to the stories that are being told. It’s like the momentum of following the lives of these people never stopped. You’re already into the Viki and Dorian feud. You’re worried about Tea. You’re very worried about Dani. Natalie’s life is still at loose ends. What devilment is Todd into now? What is that circular image about? And of the course, the shocking final image in the club!!!!!!!!!! I’m on the edge of my seat already. I can’t wait until tomorrow.

Congratulations to everyone on the show.

That was the weakest part to me, But it’s just the beginning and I’m looking forward to both shows evolving. I liked AMC opening credits MUCH better.

I watched it twice, back to back. I thought they did an outstanding job. This episode was all about bringing the audience up to speed and setting up the future storylines and introducing either new characters or new actors.

I am glad they took the position of Matthew being a distant father. Remember, he wasn’t thrilled with the prospect before so this keeps that perspective and gives them a chance to either change his feelings or not. I know overall people want “happy endings” but in reality, not all young men or women are great, accepting parents.

I think showing Dani as troubled and the void in her life because of Tea’s sadness is realistic. Plus, it gives story to build upon.

David…well, fantastic as always. I felt bad for him when people were jeering him. He is just so out of touch and has that gigantic ego.

LOVED that they mentioned Roxy. Gives me hope that the character – played by only Ilene Kristin – will be back. She was in my top 5 characters in the past.

Resurrecting the feud between Viki & Dorian – hooray. They always were the show’s power couple…haha.

I liked the beginning song and how they showed the characters dancing, switching partners. It also tied into the various relationships – as they were or may be.

Admit I got a little verklemp at the end as the gave credit to the fans. I am assuming that future shows will give actor/character info as well as the crew.

I think my favorite line…it made me laugh out loud – was when Dorian said “I need a blankie”. hahaha.

Good job, PP & all involved.

i like what you said about… Tea and Danni….

the fallout and potential for big story and huge payoff…. should be good.

I got so involved with Tea, when she was on GH. i thought it a little odd at first… that she went to the shelter…. perhaps she’s compartmentalizing… and only is sad at home… and is not paying any attention to Danni….

David was so funny in that “dream” sequence… he’s so funny and comedic it ups all the time. thats a natural talent.

TSJ was a huge surprise…. i hope he’s on for a long time. especially to fill in the void of RH going back to GH.

yeah, that was a hoot when Dorian grabbed her “chinchilla”.

Had to find you here jolie…when i was 21 i attended a few clubs and one rave parties. The rave party was the only one i attended :they showed a disgusting 10 minute porn clip…and someone died from a drug overdose there( my cousin Carol Walker! ) and the clubs i attended were big city clubs! People danced, drank and were a lot like Shelter but if they went too far they got thrown out! You might like an oral sex scene in a soap(which was hinted at not too long ago ironically on OLTL while on ABC and involved Dorian!) but i feel that is tacky and so do plenty of people! Everytime someone doesnt like something about OLTL you get too defensive and sarcastic but its ok for you to critictize GH, and you wouldnt like it if i responded to you the same way. Im trying to support the genre we almost lost including OLTL and GH and i wouldnt like to see either one cancelled just because i dont like something about it. OLTL doesnt have to go that far to entertain us! When it was on the network no one said we needed additional curse words or explicit sex and those wouldnt be there if it remained on ABC and we’d just be happy it was there so it shouldnt have to be that way online! Im young…i turn 30 soon…im no prude…a few curse words and love scenes wont kill me…im just saying it doesnt have to be that explicit. In one scene i didnt hear Tea use the fbomb like i read where Blair offered her water and the scene was terrific without it and felt real. My biggest gripe was when they see the real Victor(TSJ) at the hospital and only Tea seems suprised to see him alive while the others didnt!

I’ve watched that show since the day he came on scene with the rape, and will continue to watch his show on my last day. The final scene took my breath away. Love this guy, too! How was Natalie slutty? Because she dressed/undressed in the privacy of her own home? Because she danced half a dance with Cutter? Viki and Dorian perfect.. Clint great! Blair being Blair and of course David Vickers adding the I missed him so much…

Now.. some advice…First the writers need to watch a TNT show where words that arent on network are allowed. TNT Shows know how to add words like SHI*…Overuse from Dani of the word SHI* was simply irritating. Her character was not well defined either. She was OK with Jeffrey …then falling all over the place higher than a kite at the end. And Tea did say back on GH Dani was away at school so continuity issues, writers. Next whats with all the loud noise and yelling??? Bo shrieking at Matthew? the music at the club. I dont care for the Shelter stuff at all..Please do not use as a focal point. Take a page from Ultra Violet and use sparingly… In fact get REX back!(Fan of JP)
All in all.. I got up at 330 AM to watch and I feel like all is good again in soap land. Thank you Prospect Park.

    Nan,
Dani is hooked on Pharmaceuticals that is what Oxy’s are. Dani only used the word shit once when she said I feel like shit to Matthew. I thought Kelli did a wonderful Job of acting like a Drug addicted young adult. They showed what happens at these clubs everyday and it is something that should be addressed to many young ppl are messing with these drugs at clubs and Pharm parties and are dying because of it!

    Sami replied

They’re already using the GH storylines – Tea doesn’t have her baby and John isn’t on together canvas. The lawsuit that PP filed also proves that they are sticking with the GH storylines, otherwise they wouldn’t care what direction GH took – they would do a do-over and write the storylines/characters how they wanted to.

    Tali replied

Sami – Kassie DePAiva aka Blair said there hasn’t been any mention of the GH story line as of yet. They haven’t informed the audience yet about Tea’s baby’s fate. Hopefully he/she is in the hospital or something! I also believe they’ll recast John McBain but haven’t as of yet. We’ve only seen the first episode, let’s give it some time and hope GH stories are dead!!!!

    Jovin replied

Dani used the word shit three times.

    Chaz replied

I didn’t mind any of the language. I always felt it was kind of dumb to have characters use certain words (Darn, Gosh, Gee Whiz, etc) when in real life people swear…especially when irate or drunk/high. And, in the case of specific character types – criminals and so forth – it was always ridiculous.

Better get the smelling salts ready….Tea drops the F-word in a future episode.

Sigh. Disappointed. Only watched OLTL…will definitely watch again and again and again to support the genre…and with the hope that it gets better. But for me, the characters didn’t have the same feel and the mission of attracting a younger audience is apparent.

Personally, I thiink they should have kept the characters/storylines quite similar to the characterizations we’re used to…keep the focus on the characters we love…and gradually introduce younger characters, the club, etc. so that the “feel” and familiarity of the show is there..I’d be more open to new characters/younger storylines.

In a sense that’s what GH is doing. They’ve kept the feel of the show, brought back so many familiar “older” faces…while simulatneously blending in younger characters as well as the OLTL three.

I’m really hoping that the main focus isn’t so much on the “younger” set..but I’m sure PP feels that’s the way for this venture to be successful from a business sense.

    Time will tell…

Llanfair and Bo’s house looked almost the same. I didn’t recognize Dorian’s house at first. I actually liked the new Matthew and Destiny. The previous actors were cute, but too “baby-faced” for this version. It is realistic that a boy Matthew’s age would not want to spend time with his baby. one of the things that I pinpointed that annoys me is the music in almost every scene…kinda corny music leading up to the dialog or thru it. don’t believe they had that before and it seems more like a melodraamatic touch they used two decades ago rather than now.

on an up note, all the original cast looked beautiful…not a touch older than a year and half ago…really looked stunning. and as everyone else said so great about “the man in the hood…”

Its a character driven soap, and we got to see them as fans do, so I do trust Prospect Park with them. Yes, Dani was a little different, and we had recasts, but if sorasing them was a necessary evil to tell the best story, then lets give them some room, I say. I was SO happy to see Nigel, since I hadn’t heard he was on board.

Llanfair and Bo’s apartment were EXPERTLY recreated. La Boulaie looked like the same structure, but walls redone. And seeing Dorian’s portrait before Dorian herself was icing on the cake. Did she lug that to D.C. and back with her? Hilarious!

David Vickers was essential and on fire in this episode. Thought the Saturday Night Fever bit was a little cheesy, but he’s written just as well as before.

Rama and Vimal are separated? Interesting.

Blair being labeled a cougar at her own club, LMAO, but she did go after Cristian Vega in the past, so I guess the truth hurts.

Jeffrey King works well as the guy Matthew and Dani went to school with in London. Good way to tie a new character into established ones. I’m actually thinking he might be David Vickers’ long-lost son and I wouldn’t mind that at all.

NuDestiny was a bit jarring, but she was able to call Matthew on his bull just like the old Matthew/Destiny dynamic. So we’ll see where this goes.

Tea’s still mourning and Dani’s on drugs? I need to get used to that.

Wish Bo/Nora/Matthew lived in the Buchanan mansion, Bo’s apartment seems a little cramped for the three of them, but I guess Llanfair and La Boulaie are meeting the mansion quota for a half hour soap, and Viki/Dorian need their neutral corners. So I wouldn’t sacrifice either in order to have the Buchanan mansion back. And it makes sense for Nigel and Clint to flock to Viki’s place.

Natalie looks like she’s lost weight and probably enjoyed showing off her trimmer body, but it felt a little out of place. What’s the story with Natalie and Cutter? He’s the kind of con man I could see her with, given her history with shady guys like Jared before, but I need more info on what’s gone down between them. And Liam is BIG! Too big!

Jessica is the glaring MIA character here, and Roxy, but that’s about it. I have all my other faves back and I’m THRILLED.

While I’m glad Roger Howarth is back as Todd, since we know it wouldn’t last, I’d love to see Max Holden return to town as Blair’s partner in crime and paramour. I’m sure Kassie’s real life husband would welcome the work.

Yay for the surprise appearance at the end! I’ll be tuning in tomorrow!

Just watched AMC. I think I enjoyed today’s show more than I had grown to enjoy the last few years of AMC when it was on. Love the grown up Petey. :-) Curious to see who is in the coma! Erica? Tad? hmmm. I can’t remember who came in and did the shooting ….was it really David? He’s the only character I’ve never liked at all, but looks like he’s around for the long haul. Loved Jesse and Angie, of course!

First of all, a shout-out to the fan who posted these first episodes on Youtube. I live in Canada, and I don’t have the FX t.v. channel. We have FULL access to the internet here, the only exception being, for whatever bizarre reason, Hulu. So I got the shows on Youtube.

The first episode was pretty good. It was not the high-energy, high-octane premiere I was expecting, and some parts were quite boring. Bo and Nora sitting in the house fretting and wringing their hands over Matthew did nothing to showcase the charm and super-couple status that they enjoyed previously. Destiny and Natalie going to a club alone to dance alone was bizarre. Blair hitting on a young guy and him turning her down? I’m a red-blooded male in my 20′s…if Kassie Wesley hit on me in a bar, I wouldn’t be saying “I’m not into cougars.”

One thing I liked was that it played more like a prime time show without all the inane dialogue that soap characters sometimes spout. They SHOWED us and didn’t TELL us, or insult our intelligence by assuming we can’t see what’s happening. The sets are very realistic, and it looks like no production expense was spared. I, like many others, hope that the club is a backdrop and hangout, but not the focal point of the show. Kudos that it looks like a real club, but constant conversations having to be shouted over music could get distracting very quickly!

NuMatthew is promising, and is a very credible believable actor who totally resembles Eddie Alderson. The new Destiny, although much taller and skinnier than the previous one, actually resembles her in the cute face department, and hopefully her acting chops will hold up. I just hope Matthew is not the one supplying Danni with drugs. Kelly Missal did a bang-up job of playing someone stoned on pills. This is a talented younger cast and I hope the writers give them worthy material, which rarely happens on network soaps.

I never liked Natalie with John McBain, so seeing her interact with someone in her own age range and someone like herself with a shady past could be very good. There is chemistry between her and Cutter for sure. I really question the necessity of the scene where she stripped down, showing some gratuitous skin, having her lay on the couch, and wham…end of scene. No one tunes into soaps for random pointless shots of half-naked women. It seemed very out of place.

I know Tuc Watkins is funny, but I wish David Vickers wasn’t written so cartoonish and over-the-top ALL the time. He has almost ceased being a character and become a caricature. He can be witty and fun and funny without being just over-the-top comic relief.

And there were Dorian and Viki…looking awesome as always. I hope they retain their friendship. Having them battle and at each other’s throats is old news. They are much better as “frenemies” or even co-conspirators. I also hope the show allows Clint and Viki to be the stable, power couple on the show with no typical soap tricks to break them up. They have been through it all. Let them rule the roost as a happily married, moral anchor of the show.

The show managed to pull off a spoiler shocker by having Victor show up. I read many soap sites almost daily, and that was not announced ANYWHERE that I saw, so good job for that! I look forward to more of “The Two Todds” before Roger H. defects for his anonymous new GH incarnation.

On the whole, it is awesome and almost surreal to have this show back. It felt totally familiar and altogether different at the same time, which is a dichotomy and hard to explain, but also a compliment. These shows are back, in a new forum, and fans are thrilled. Let’s all support them and prove that the soap genre is not dying, just changing!

The way that OLTL and AMC make any money is through either subscription or ads, and when well meaning yet obviously lawbreaking individuals post the episodes on Youtube, they are taking money out of Prospect Park’s pocket and lessening the chances that they can continue the shows. I don’t buy the “no copyright infringement intended” excuse. That’s complete b.s.. Stealing is stealing, and there are more than enough ways to see the show so that it’s fair to all involved without enabling people who are stealing content that doesn’t belong to them.

    Reply

    Jovin replied

First of all Jim…I’m not quite sure who are accusing of stealing here…me or the person who posted this on Youtube. But neither of us stole anything, and here’s why!

I highly resent and object to your usage of the word “stealing”. I pay an internet provider for the use of internet on my computer AND on my cell phone, and also for cable television. I am bombarded with thousands of ads every day. I am a human and as such, I am a consumer. I shop, I buy the products advertised in any number of these forums. Advertisers choose where they want to advertise, so we ALL see these ads. They know that, and they bank on that.

I live in Canada, the second largest country on EARTH. For some reason, us Canadians can access EVERY known internet site except for Hulu. The U.S. owners of Hulu, for some inexplicable reason, have made Hulu unavailable here, and blocked our access to the site. Would it not make financial sense for them to allow the site to be broadcast in Canada, and have their ads reach millions more people?? Pretty short-sighted of them not to do that. If they were hard up for money, they might want to re-think being so restrictive.

It is my understanding that it is FREE to watch the shows on Hulu. There are only subscriptions on certain Hulu plus accounts and on I-Tunes downloads. So millions of internet users are watching the shows for FREE.

Also, the shows are being broadcast on a Canadian TELEVISION station called FX. I am currently living in a small town with my father because my mom just died, and he does not have that channel in his cable package. If he did, I would watch the shows on t.v. on that channel.

Youtube is perfectly legal. When there are copyright infringement issues, then the offending videos are swiftly removed from Youtube channels. The person who posted it onto youtube obviously had Hulu or I-Tunes, or whatever forum required to watch the show and then upload it onto Youtube for the enjoyment of others. Besides, what does it matter if it is on Youtube after it has already aired in its original format?? The money has been made by that point. If I was able to watch it on Hulu, I would, and it would still be “free”.

Prospect Park obviously has money to do this…they are paying 8 million dollars a year to ABC for the rights to do the show. The actors and crew are being paid…they have built a fantastic production facility…they are all profitable and making money off of this endeavour, or they would not be doing it. No one is taking any money out of anyone’s pocket.

I am a lifelong soap viewer. I have followed these shows throughout their network television life, and I will follow them onto the internet, in whatever format I am able to find and view them. I have watched soaps, bought the advertised products, attended the Daytime Emmy Awards in New York City, bought thousands of print soap magazines…I have paid to watch these shows like everyone else.

What is the difference if I got a friend to tape the shows onto VHS or DVD, and then loan me the tape? That would only be rendered illegal if that person sold me the tape, or if I charged others to watch it. Also, if I did that, I would fast forward through the commercials anyway. That is a luxury of being able to tape shows. Using your reasoning, I would be “stealing” by fast forwarding and not watching the commercials.

This is 2013. There are many venues and forums now in which to watch these shows, to watch movies, and to listen to music. Yes, profits in all entertainment industries are down. but in my opinion, no actor or singer needs to be earning millions of dollars for their work while teachers and doctors and really important professions only earn a fraction of what they make and what they do, at the end of the day, is just entertainment fluff. They are still making a living, and a good living at that.

If you are concerned, then do what many of us Canadians are doing and have done. Write to Hulu and ask why they are not opening up their site for viewing access in Canada. It would open up their site to millions of new eyes. I can guarantee that their numbers would skyrocket, and AMC and OLTL would be number-one on Hulu all the time.

I hope you see now how no one has “stolen” anything. And before you post such accusatory, inflammatory posts, you might do some research and use some common sense as it relates to internet usage. I am not trying to be rude, please don’t think that. But using words like STEALING come with a natural defensive tone, especially when no stealing has taken place.

Nice Jim and PP asked that if anyone sees posts from PPL on Youtube to let them know because those videos have to be pulled!

While you may have a point Jim…I don’t think calling Jovin an “enabler” is necessary. He doesn’t have access and he searched until he found the show. What was he supposed to do…not watch it when he found it? If youtube prohibits it…they’ll make the episodes disappear. Isn’t fair to blame a viewer.

It’s because you missed it. She was missing John, that’s why she went home early, and that is why she curled up on the couch after getting undressed wrapped up in a blanket, the look on her face told the whole story she was missing John…..

Jovin, the difference in your “free” viewing of YouTube videos is, it does not count for advertising rates on the channels that PP pays to carry their shows. That’s how the shows will stay in production by demonstrating how many viewers will watch. You Tube viewers will not support the shows survival. :(

I feel for you, but you have an option many U.S. viewers would love to have a TV channel like FX carrying it on TV.

Awesome- just awesome! The actors were, as always, fantastic. Erika Slezak is a class act. The scenes and production values are cutting edge, fast paced, and catering to both older viewers and the young audience. I am amazed that they could do such a great job- ON LIINE! Wow- think of the possibilities if view commitment is consistent. Soap fans take notice- how about a reboot of Another World? Guiding Light? If this project maintains momentum, anything is possible.
All My Kids looks good also- but it really, really needs Susan Lucci.
Well done, Prospect Park. ABC should be ashamed- and looking into ways to sue Brian Fronz for neglect, stupidity, and intentionally trying to kill off a medium that still has so much potential.

Okay, let’s put this another way. You’ve worked your butt off for a few years to buy a nice car. You leave the keys in the car, and without asking, because someone thinks it’s OK and they don’t intend to scratch or dent the car, they take the car out for a little joy ride. And then they say, “Hey, I think I’ll park it in my driveway and everyone will think it’s mine.” Then they get picked up by the cops for stealing the car, and they said “I didn’t intend to mean any harm. ”

There is no excuse under the sun for watching OLTL on YouTube. YouTube has not acquired the rights to broadcast it and except Hulu and iTunes, and FX Canada, no one has the rights outside of them to broadcast OLTL in any way, shape or form. When you watch pirated versions of anything YouTube, you disrespect the production company, the actors who have to make a living and all those who are responsible for the creative process of creating programming for you to watch. It’s a free-for-all on YouTube and you’re contributing to the free-for-all by watching pirated shows on it.

I thought AMC was the better of the two — it clearly reintroduced the characters and established both mystery and romance to lure in fans as well as new viewers while still respecting the show’s history. It moved at a brisk pace, but was character driven and allowed the viewer to get the know the characters.

OLTL was less successful for me. From the unfunny reality show schtick (despite Tuc Watkins best efforts) to the dull nightclub scenes to that reveal of Victor Lord, Jr’s return (those tattoos suggest some stupid conspiracy storyline instead of building off of that superlative cliffhanger Ron Carlivati gave us last January) the show just seemed a bit off and moved waaaaaaaaay too fast to really hook me with any of the various “stories” they were trying to introduce in 60 second scenes.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if it isn’t yours. Stop bashing people who don’t agree with you. BTW – I had an alcoholic mother who would strip down to her underwear and fall asleep on the sofa. When I was a child, I would have to hold her hair back whole she puked.
