121 October 26th, 2017 Patient Six Reveals Himself As Jason To Sonny & They Hug It Out, As Steve Burton and Maurice Benard Bring Their Undeniable Connection Back To GH!

For decades, General Hospital viewers watched the dangerous escapades of best buds, Jason and Sonny.  In real life, Steve Burton (Patient Six) has always mentioned in interviews and in social media, how much Maurice Benard (Sonny) has been an undeniable force in his life as a mentor and good friend.

On Wednesday’s episode, and after five years, Burton and Benard shared scenes together, as Patient Six/”Jason” and Sonny. In story, Sonny and Patient Six are armed and hold guns on one another at Sonny’s safe house.  Sonny asks him who he is, and Patient Six claims he is Jason.  Sonny asks where he’s been if he’s Jason, because five years is a very long time to be away from his loved ones.

That is when Patient Six reveals it hasn’t felt like five years to him, and that all he knows is he woke up in a Russian clinic after being drugged and held captive.  He feels it’s been just a few months since he is been away from Port Charles, yet when he came back everything has changed. Six reveals that the clinic is where he met Ava Jerome (Maura West), and that he attempt to reach out to Sonny by calling him.

Six explains to Sonny he has no idea who kept him captive, and who perpetrated all of this on him, but that Ava did help him escape. Next, an emotional Six reveals he came back to Port Charles only to find Sam (Kelly Monaco) with another guy who is going by the name of Jason Morgan (Billy Miller).  He goes over all his moves once he got back to Port Charles, including finding out Sam is married to some guy that everyone thinks is him.  Six goes on to say that he was filled in by Ava that the guy had reconstructive surgery. Sonny informs Six it is more complicated. There is DNA proof and scans from before “Jason’s” surgery showing his old face.  Six pleads to Sonny that he is the real Jason!

Things get emotional when Six begs Sonny to believe him.  He goes so far as to say says that he would never have left Sonny willingly, or turned his back on him to start a media company.  He disappeared after he was shot in the back and was presumed dead.  Sonny puts down his gun, and says he believes he is Jason, and extends his arm for a handshake.  Next, Sonny and Jason share a hug; both with tears welling up it their eyes.

So, what did you think of the “Jason” and Sonny reunion? Do you think Six will be the real Jason or will he be Drew, the twin? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

I’m sure many commenters here threw up just a little bit when Six called Sonny his brother. He’ll find out off screen what Sonny did to his actual brother, as if that matters.

Jason hated AJ I thought he was the one who killed him when Billy Warlick was in the part! The real Jason only cared about Lila he might throw Monica a bone now and then but he never showed affection after the accident.

Awwww, was Six ‘cold’ to Monica, Kay? Did he show affection to everyone else? ‘Stonecold’ is a harsh word, and since I did not know Jason1, I assumed he was icy to everyone.
I am not seeing that frigidity in Six. All I see is pain in his eyes…..a man whose emotions are kept at bay through contolled will-power.
But, human, nonetheless. I like Six….I like what I see; even his loyalty to Sonny, albeit I don’t like it, I admire that in a person.

    Steve replied

Initially after the accident, Jason bonded with Ned, but that went away after he found out Ned covered for AJ. Jason also maintained a close relationship with Emily.

    Francesca Bruno replied

I don’t think Jason was so black and white.
I agree with Shay when she described him as not registering.

I never thought he lost all feeling, but that he was caught up in a distorted view of himself and his role on life due to his trauma.

    Celia replied

Oh, yeah, Steve. The irony stings. Brother, my, uhmm ….backside.
Did I not say it eould be puke-worthy.
Of course, the first meeting, after five years had to be with Sonny. Oh, wait….I can answer that. Six is protecting his womenfolk?? I guess it does make sense to see Sonny first, considering Fric and Frac are after him. Six needs the savior’s help.

@CeeCee….As far as Jason’s regards for Monica, I wouldn’t go so far as to call them cold, so much as “non-registering.” He came off like a cyborg, just a total blank slate where feelings should have been present, but they hadn’t been programmed in…it’s as if there were a “vacancy” sign flashing in place of his emotions.

    Soaphound replied

Right again Celia. Plus it gave Sonny a chance to trash newJason with barbs like, “this guy may have good intentions but he just isn’t you.” THIS GUY? Would that be the guy who’s saved your life or risked his own for you how many times? Sonny is both ignorant and ungrateful.

    Hello, Soaphound,
I just want you to know that I did answer you….a lengthy paragraph….I guess, the moderators did not think it appropriate. LOL. I was pretty graphic at one point. Naughty of me…oopsies?!
So, I will give you the precis form:
I said thst I found it strange that Sonny or anyone did not question New Jason’s voice, his eyes ( no two organs are exactly the same) etc….not even twins…..And, mostly, how can neither Liz nor Sam not be aware of certain nuances and differences when intimate??
I am not buying this, albeit I have a new respect for Burton….his acting, his persona, his devil may care attitude with a twist—-emotion.

    Shay replied

My, oh my, you are SO naughty, CeeCeeGirl! (Well, you may count yourself in fine company as I responded to your “king-sized bed” comment of the other day with a saucy quip about a “Sam sandwich,” and it didn’t go down a treat either! LOL.) However, the good news is that your (here unseen) post from this thread landed in my inbox earlier today, and yes, I completely concurred with your observations…here we go again, indeed! Plus ca change, plus ca change!!!! I actually commented a day or so ago regarding your very remarks in reference to the age discrepancies of a number of GH couples….Anna/Finn, Ava/Griffin, and yes, the most obvious example, but, alas, my sentiments never made it online…Seems that only those who breathlessly champion and vigorously applaud May-December romances featuring shamelessly indiscreet sexcapades (ad nauseam…) get to endlessly pontificate on this subject…no matter how unrealistically and ridiculously they are portrayed. After this week’s beautifully touching engagement scene between Laura and Kevin, my great hope is that in the future we’ll be seeing more classy representations of adult relationships in the Port Charles sphere like their charming love story (emphasis on the word, “love”…not to mention, the notions of mutual respect and admiration….) and much less of the repetitious, randy rumpy-pumpy of the perpetually adolescent Alexis and Julian…(Lordy, Lordy, can you just imagine the carnal combustions that will be unleashed between those sex-starved libertines once he is sprung from Pentonville??? Mothers, lock up your kids, because those two can and will be going at it with their x-rated excitations anytime, anyplace, considering their complete lack of self-control…guaranteed!!!!) Having said that, at least we’ll have Laura and Kevin’s upcoming wedding, the compelling “Q a Deux” mystery, and Steve Burton’s riveting turn as “The Individual” to keep our attentions diverted from the aforementioned atrocious amorous activities of Port Charles’ oldest pair of teenagers!!!!! Thank goodness for that!

    Celia replied

    @Shay.
Oh, and yes….as I said on my invisible post ( LOL), Laura and Kevin; class exemplar. She looked stunning. Kevin? Hot !!
I love this couple to pieces.

    Jovin replied

I gagged a little during this scene. Maybe it’s because we just had the same scene play out when “Jason” returned as Billy Miller. I don’t know why countless regimes think that viewers love and appreciate these two and the “bond” they share. Sonny robbed Jason of his life!!! I wish ONE single writer with any sort of clarity or moral compass would be allowed into the writers room at GH so us LONGTIME, REAL fans of this show could get some pay off too! Sonny took a brain damaged kid, capitalized on the fact that he was estranged from his family, willingly and even gleefully made that estrangement bigger, and turned a kid with a promising future as a doctor into a cold blooded ruthless killer. He murdered Jason’s brother in cold blood. Through his mob activity, Sonny is indirectly responsible for the deaths of most of Jason’s family. Sonny did Jason no favours. Sonny would turn his back on Jason in a heartbeat, while he expects ultimate loyalty. Sonny did NOTHING for Jason other than ruin his life and the life of his family. This is what the show acts like is such a grand bromance, or whatever they write it as. It’s disgusting is what it is, to watch two middle aged men crying and hugging it out when they are both unrepentant murderers!! Where’s the rooting value?? Sonny sat there telling Jason who was still alive, but failed to mention someone who has returned but since been brutally murdered….that would be Jason’s brother AJ. Jason, in all ways, should hate and despise and loathe Sonny for destroying his life! My fantasy GH is Jason waking up one morning, putting on a cardigan sweater, and reporting for work as a doctor at GH. Jason wanted to be a doctor and save lives! Jason should be the de facto Steve Hardy of this show! Not running around playing Jason Bourne and murdering people! All my Sonny hatred aside, I am VERY impressed with the long term, umbrella plotting of this story! These writers must have sat down with a LARGE story board and really meticulously wrote this out! Kudos!!

The only two people who ever robbed Jason of his life were:

    1) AJ the drunken idiot – when he bashed Jason’s head into a tree in a speeding car, forcing him to lose all memory of his previous life.

    2) Faison – when he shot Jason, kicked him into the harbor, and then apparently fished him out and shipped him off to Russia where he was drugged and held hostage for the past five years, during which an impostor took over his life.

    Trey replied

BTW – this is a soap opera… it’s not real. stop trying to understand why they act differently than real people…

    Rebecca1 replied

Good post, Jovin. I agree with most of what you said. But I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Sonny and Jason. If I DIDN’T know their history I’d say it truly was a great BRO romance. But knowing the history, watching them together from the beginning of their journey for years…it is beyond despicable how Sonny molded Jason’s devoid-of emotional-attachment, rebellious mind (after the accident) into his right hand man. In a sense, what he did was no different than what Helena did to “Jake”…programming him to be a hit man. The irony is Sonny and Carly actually love Jason yet don’t think they’ve screwed up his life. That’s the maddening part. Nor does Sam. The woman who loves him should have sided with the Qs all along, should have tried to bring Jason back to the Quartermaine’s and encouraged him to get to know his family again. But, she too, was portrayed as rebellious (was so much so with Alexis at the beginning, but eventually gave her mom a chance and developed a very loving mother/daughter relationship.) But Sam was all about adventure and the con game when she fell in love with Jason and lived for the adventure and the rush of danger, too.

I do think GH is firing on all cyclinders! The story has been exciting and emotional for many of us who have been watching for years and feel the power of Jason’s emotions as he rediscovers his life. Today’s episode (when he burst through the ceiling, was soap opera gold in my opinion). The look on Jason (Steve Burton’s Jason) face when he saw Sam being drugged…his instinct to protect her at all costs was fantastic…and crashing through the sky roof was a great way for the returned Jason to “make his entrance.”

But I do hate that he has every intention of going back to Sonny and Carly; that he will be their “enforcer” again. No doubt he’s great at the job…but it’s a complete letdown that he’ll be back to putting his life on the line for these two selfish beings (Sonny and Carly) who claim to love him but welcome his protection, knowing that he risks his own life each time he does. Sickening.

LOL. I don’t think it matters that they’re “middle-aged” men crying and hugging it out. In spite of it all I liked their reunion. Very well done.

One of these “twins” is the real Jason Morgan. But,is the “real” Jason who was going to be a doctor or the “real” one who was in the car accident? One might have been Jason; the other Drew. Both under the same name.

When all is discovered, will Jason Morgan go back to Sonny and Jason/Drew continue to be the family man…will he go back to the Q fold? Did he ever know them or was he programmed to think he was raised by them? The latter seems to be straddling both worlds; he longs for stability and a peaceful, less reckless life but yet can react with all the violence and instinct of the killer he was trained to be. Lots of questions and many ways to go with this.

    The writers have done well.

    Soaphound replied

Agreed, Jovin. And how about Sonny’s disloyalty to new Jason, referring to him as “this guy” who “just isn’t you”. Didn’t Billy/Jason just risk his life for Sonny again on the bridge, for the umpteenth time? Does anyone ever question Sonny’s ingratitude and disloyalty?

    Rebecca1 replied

Soaphound…I couldn’t agree more! I noticed that too…”this guy”, etc. Whoever Billy Miller’s character is…he’s risked his life for Sonny over and over again since he’s been in their lives. The man was just in a coma because he accompanied Sonny to a meeting…and he went with him AGAIN when Sonny got the note, ready to put himself at risk again, AFTER saying he was done with the business and could no longer take any risks…

Although it’s been said over and over again that all three, Sonny, Carly and Sam felt that Jason was “different” than they remember him, they all supposedly love him. To brush him aside like Sonny did, even though I GET that he’s shocked and thrilled to have “his” Jason back, he should have still showed more empathy/friendship when speaking of Billy’s Jason.

To top it off, Sonny will welcome back Jason Morgan as his “enforcer”…with no regard once again to putting his life at risk…even though he was thought dead…killed…working for Sonny.

I know you don’t like this story or Steve Burton’s return, but even with my “dismay” at certain aspects I just wrote I still think it’s been fantastic and I do look forward to it. I think Burton’s been doing great work! (And I’m loving Anna and Finn!)

I am really enjoying this story, but it would really truly suck if Patient Six isn’t really Jason. And I don’t even particularly like the character. :) Let Jason be Jason and let the other one be Drew. I’ promise as a fan to hand wave any inconsistencies from what we know about Billy Miller’s Jason and just move on.

Well, it was certainly Ron C.’s “m.o.,” CeeCeeGirl! He couldn’t abide it when we unspun his tangled webs before the bitter end, so we know he often changed them up midplotline just to stick it to clever viewers who were already ahead of the game. I should hope such will not be the case this time around though…in order for this tale to truly resonate, it must be logical and plausible…not tortured and completely nonsensical like the “Clusterfluke” debacle proved to be….

    Celia replied

    @Shay.
Hey, Shay….really quickly, here….going “trick or treating”..,,..
Are we to believe that Patient Six is an experiment? Did I understand that correctly?
Also, by today’s episode, Andre and Klein are not killers….they have a heart? No matter….they are still doing something illegal.
Perhaps, I wasn’t too far out when I said Valentin was involved or knew something? Is Patient Six Nicholas, afterall, as I, and others thought?
The Experiment: reconstructive surgery and transplantation of original Jason’s brain into Patient Six? Alas…I don’t know what I’m saying. LOL. Getting frustrated, amica cara.

  9. Soaphound says:

It’s just as I feared. Burton is the almighty Jason and Sonny will make Billy Miller’s Jason an enemy and interloper, despite his saving Sonny’s life multiple times. We know the facts don’t support that, as Jake Doe had no desire to be Jason. But they’ll probably forget that and shaft Billy just so the favorite child Burton gets his way. I’m one step closer to abandoning this mess, but I hope–faintly–that someone will keep a cool head and place the blame where it belongs…Andre or Helena or whoever. Maybe that sexy Dr. Klein could even be redeemed. I just feel bad for Billy M. and his fans right now. But, hope springs eternal.

    Celia replied

    Yes, Patrick…agreed. Anna needs a man, a lover….not a son. Gene Farber is 38, I think?
At the risk of being called ageist for the umpteenth time by Lord knows “whose name” will object ( and I don’t care), Anna is getting up there with Alexis—exactly my mother’s age. It’s a soap, yeah….a dash of reality is appreciated now and then.
Methinks the child-play is ‘discordant’—Grow up, I say. Silly.
I am not into that much age difference between lovers, married or not. And, yes it is my opinion….
Anna is a very vibrant woman, and these shenanigans between her and Finn aren’t even cute….pathetic, actually.
I cannot see either playing adolescent fools. Maybe Anna…yeah, I can see her joking around….Finn? Hmmmm.
I love ME, but, Finn is a stiff. His bones do not bend…..I cannot see him in a comic stint.
You are right about truncating this abstract concept of him and Anna coming together by sheer accident, chasing stupid, nonsensical, fabricated circumstances. I FFed through all their Paris scenes, and then some.
I don’t see all the swooning over Dr. Klein, either. He needs to go back to ‘Redland’ …..there’s a spot for him next to Ivan the Terrible.

    Harry replied

Well, for me age is all relative. Sometimes it really does matter and sometimes it does not.
For instance, I just feel Ava is too old for Griffin. This isn’t based on any knowledge of Maura West’s chronological age, but on the way the woman carries herself–mannerisms, boxy body language, her over all presence.
But here’s the rub–I don’t think Anna is too old for Griffin or for Finn for that matter and Finola Hughes is about ten years older than Maura West. I think it’s because Anna has this eternal sense of coolness about her. I can’t really put it into words and of course this is just my opinion so it’s subjective.

    rebecca1 replied

Hahah…Really, Patrick? I LOVE Anna and Finn! And they’re starting to have feelings for each other! Honestly…they’re fast becoming my favorite couple even though they’ve barely begun.

    rebecca1 replied

I also love how art imitates life more and more in soaps. FINALLY women are dating younger men…as men have always done. And soaps are reflecting it. Ironically, Will DeVry and Alexis .have a similar age difference with his real life relationship. He’s 49 and his long-time live-in girlfriend, actress Rebecca Staab, is 56. And now Laura Wright, 47, is dating 40-year-old Wes Ramsey. Now let’s solidify the ties between Finn and Anna! (he’s so much more alive and attractive with her than Hayden; never felt the chemistry between those two.)

    Celia replied

You are entitled to say anything you you feel, Patrick….it is your opinion, my friend—-express it without reservation.
I go off the perimeters, unabashedly, at times, but I am cut off at the knees—and so I should be. But, nothing you say crosses any boundary.
I love your comments–whether I agree or not.
However, I agree….Finn and Anna are a wash for me……nonetheless, you know the soap gods are going there.
I am waiting for the day Hayden returns with Finn’s kid.

    rebecca1 replied

Hey, Harry. I agree with you in theory. I don’t think it’s that Maura (the actress) looks older…it’s her Ava persona. Very sophisticated, the way she holds her drink, that femme fatale aura. It’s also the way her character dresses. Anna’a always seen in very casual clothes..very hip, casual. Ava’s always in a tight dress (who wears those anymore??? So, it’s more the “image.”

Where I DO think the actual look of the two people involved was really too difficult for me to get passed is Kristina/Parker. Not because of the years between them. It’s just that Lexi looks 12. Same thing with Kristen Alderson. Can you imagine her being Parker’s lover? But then you take Kelly Thiebaud (Britt). When she first appeared on GH she was the same age as Lexi/Kristen are now. She was in her 20s. I could see her with Parker because it didn’t look like child/adult. (I mentioned this on Lexi/Parker exit page.)

In the end, it doesn’t matter what it looks like to anyone, as long as the two people are of legal age and they connect. They don’t need anyone’s approval in real life…LOL…they need it more so in fantasyland if enough viewers protest and it effects ratings.

What’s great about love and infatuation and that flirty thing you feel when you meet someone new, or reconnect, or feel something that wasn’t there to begin with someone you’ve known… is that you can feel it til the day you die. At any age. It’s one of the best feelings in being alive.

Yes, Rebecca, the martini swirling Ava presence–that’s it exactly. She’s kind of a throwback to the 1940′s cinema dame. Think Barbara Stanwyck meets Lana Turner. I have grown to appreciate Maura West.
I do love Finn and Anna. They look like siblings and Finola Hughes is such a gifted actress she pulls of looking confused and surprised that she’s actually experiencing real attraction for the man.
I swear Finola Hughes would have chemistry with a Chia pet.

That’s not true, su0000. Sam is Alexis’s daughter. Helena hated Alexis because she is the daughter of Helena’s husband (who cheated on her with Alexis’s mother).. She then, if you recall, put a curse on Sam and smiled knowingly…as if she was keeping a secret. And Helena is the one who likes to play mind games…so…you never know.

If everyone recalls Heather Weber mentioned (not sure WHO she mentioned it to or if she was talking out loud) … that there was another Quartermanine out there that nobody knew about. She announced that in the Q living room when Edward died. Perhaps Helena had one of the twins all along…or took one hostage at another time and used her mind control so that both twins think he’s Jason.

Still think it’s a cool story line (whether it’s been done before in various forms on other shows or not.) I’m “diggin’” it!

Let me state, for the record, that Helena Cassidine is back in Hell where she belongs. We’re not letting her escape again. Now that doesn’t mean she didn’t collaborate with Faison and/or her former brother in law Victor at some point during the last 5 years, because they were holding Drew as a popsicle in that other clinic, and told Robin that he was Jason in order to thaw him out, along with Helena & Stavros.

But when the investigation into the Russian clinic begins, they won’t find Helena at the end of that road. And they won’t find Victor, as he’s busy in Salem these days. But Faison’s fingerprints are all over this.

    Rebecca1 replied

Hey su…I think it’s a good theory…and I would have loved Franco to have been a Quartermaine back when he and everyone else thought he was. But, Steve Burton’s Jason and Billy Miller’s Burton have the same DNA and when Spinelli did a facial recognition (or whatever he did to try to reconstruct Jake/Jason’s “before” look) he came up with Jason (Steve Burton’s face. I think.) So, to say it again…it’s a soap, LOL, so maybe all these things were tampered with and the DNA and the face really belongs to Franco. Could be. I’m open to all possibilities! I think it’s been great so far! Lovin’ it.

    Celia replied

    Hey, su,
Thanks for the synopsis. You were the only one to agree with me…or vice versa…when I/ we said Franco was one of the twins. Drew was not his little childhood frien, but his brother.
His character is too enmeshed in this story, for Franco not to be a very significant part of the plot/story.
On the other hand, am I to understand that Jason1and Jason2 ‘were’ identical, when switched?
Therefore, because of Billy’s Jason altered face ( reconstructive surgery), he looks different.
I think this makes the most sense because of the DNA match ( the variable is miniscule)…unless Helena ( Satan’s explanation is robust–Helena did her dirty work before joining Satan in Hell) or whomever, either fudged the results, or Billy’s Jason was infused with Six’s blood, way back when.
If truth be told, I am not putting any faith or stock into TPTB, as their premise changes with each breath they take.

    Hey Su…

I have another theory…see at bottom of page under Rose’s comment.

    Celia replied

You were right, su. Helena is not involved.
BUT—I was right about the memories. If you read my comment, way back when….I said Helena transferred Jason1′s memories into Jason2.
….only difference–it was not by Helena’s hand but by Andre’s.
Satan said Helena is in hell—always trust Satan, LOL. If that’s not the best example of an oxymoron, I don’t know what is.
No brain transplantation, as I recently claimed, I guess. Just memories, as I originally thought.
Another mistake we both made, was thinking Franco was the twin. So, is Franco who he really is, or “something” else?

    Harry replied

Suoo, you know what really cracks me up? Whenever a character has to explain something implausible or inexplicable, they say one word, “Helena.”
The other day Sonny tried to explain to Jason how it is Jake is alive.
Basically Sonny said,”Helena” to which Jason responded,”Oh. Say no more.”

Steve Burton is the real Jason Morgan and was Drew as a kid.
Billy Miller is imposter Jason Morgan and was Jason Quartermaine as a kid.
Their personalities totally match that scenario.
They are identical twins with Alan Quartermaine being their father, their dna will prove that.
Sam will choose Jason Quartermaine (Billy Miller) cuz he’s safest for her family.
Franco is of no relation but shared a few years as a kid with Drew (steve burton).
I can’t see how people think Helena has no involvement with jason.
She had him, we saw that in scenes with Robin, we saw the scarecrow scenes, she kidnapped Jasons son jake for years, she cursed sam who is the daughter of a Cassadine.

    su0000 replied

    Hi Celia ..
haaa! No, not at all Irrational ,, detective work lol ..
Steve was not brought back to be Jason ”Quartermain”. he was brought back as a different/twisted character a character that is not ‘Jason Quartermain Morgan’ but he is Stone Cold and will remain to be the Stone Cold character.
Most likely he is Drew and his name changed to Jason.

The twins will be Franco and Billy/Jason.
Heather was deeply involved with the Q’s and her cousin Susan and the babies, including her baby born near in time with Susans twins, and it was Heather working her baby switching that notoriously she excels in when giving baby to Betsy.
Heather has long said Franco is a Q .. And Scotty doesn’t want Franco to go there.
Susan was seeing Frank Smith the ruthless mob guy and it’s his DNA in stonecold that gives him his stone cold skills..

I/we do not see Helena in this one, nope.
She is the usual suspect in every plot as this one, but not this time, for once.

Steve is Stone Cold but not a Quartermain not a twin.
Billy is Jason a Q twin
    Franco is a Q twin.

0ohh well, time will tell .. I’m ready to get a noogie haaa!!

    su0000 replied

    Hi Rebecca-
    About the DNA match.
Carly had B/Jason’s sample run against Stone cold’s DNA in the criminal records database from when Jason was arrested back before he died.
Whomever went to all trouble to have everyone believe their Jason was thee Jason so they most certainly would have erased Stone Cold’s DNA and inserted Billy/Jason’s DNA in the criminal records database .
They knew a DNA test would be requested, of course.
    LOL it’s not Helena ..

    Harry replied

    My hair hurts.
Will the real Jason Morgan please stand up? Dee, if one of the Jasons starts sporting a Christmas sweater around the holiday season, I guess we will have our answer as to which Jason is Stonecold and which Jason is Jason Q.
I think your theory will turn out to be true. That is, Burton’s Jason is Stonecold and Miller’s Jason is Jason Quartermain and they were switched after AJ wrapped their car around the tree.

    su0000 replied

    hi Celia..
    Here is thing lol
Nobody knew Susan had twins but Heather and the nurse she sold one to right after delivery..
Alan never knew Susan had twins and Susan didn’t know she had twins..
After Susan delivered the 1st twin she passed out and then the 2nd baby was born, she never knew she had twins..
As for them being identical twins, they were never together to know and even Heather wouldn’t know if identical because hard to see/know with just delivered newborns ..

ahh yes! Heather is way into this one! I like that LOL
Helena is not involved in this tale..nawww … you think???

    Dee replied

All the fuss Sonny was making to Burton that they had the DNA test done on Miller and it was a match for Jason. You know everyone will say the same thing.
New DNA tests will prove Burton & Miller to be identical twins.
Then they will say they don’t know who Jake and Danny’s father is, cuz they’re both a match with the same DNA , with apparently similar brain damage.
I think they need to start lookin at bullet wounds. How many times has Burton been shot over the years, surely they can’t have matching bullet wounds.
And then to prove Burton was Drew as a kid, it will come down to that broken rib he sustained as a kid when Franco threw him down the stairs.
And Harry, you’re totally right that the proof of Billy Miller being Jason Quartermaine will come down to the Christmas sweater he sports at Christmas (ROFL).,,,

    Steve replied

When Burton was announced as coming back to the show, I suggested the switch took place after the 90’s car accident with AJ. What makes sense (I know this is a soap) is are two switches, first with AJ, then after the Faison incident.

Frank and Shelly have said there would be nine months of story around Burton’s return. Everyone could assume Miller is Andrew, but after some therapy with Kevin, he’d start to regain childhood memories of Jason Quartermaine. Burton, who is Andrew, gained his defense/fighting ability after being bullied as a toddler by Franco.

    Shay replied

@CeeCee….The only thing that gives me great pause to consider for a fraction of a second that Steve Burton’s character may not be the original Stonecold is the intensity with which the actor is playing his role. One can see the raw emotion in his eyes and palpably sense the deep anguish in his soul, and that was so not a part of Burton’s original repertoire when he previously played Jason. Then there was a flatness and almost complete lack of human warmth or passion with his character, even around those he loved. Whilst he was nearly automaton-like in his quickness to anger and appetite for revenge, there was never any softness or lovable vulnerability attached to his persona. That’s not to say that he didn’t care deeply for Sam, Liz, his sons, Spinelli and egads, yes, Sonny and Carly, because he always came through for those with whom he developed a kinship and had a demonstrably strong desire to protect, but it was a very emotionally-detached sort of love and commitment which was always explained away by his so-called brain damage. I guess you had to see it to understand it….hence I’m not sure if what we are witnessing today is a concerted effort by Steve Burton to differentiate his before and after Stonecolds or if he is purposely playing this character as an ambiguous being who will leave at least some vestige of lingering doubts as to his true identity down the line despite all indications now being that he is who he seems to be. Then again, perhaps all this really comes down to is that the actor has simply matured and is more skilled at his craft now than he was during his previous GH stint, meaning his time in Genoa City stretching his acting abilities was well spent and has something to do with his obvious change for the better in his current “Jason” portrayal. Stay tuned…

    Celia replied

    @su0000.
    Hi, su,
As you know, I learn much of GH’s history from all of you…..I do have a few ideas and theories…but only from what I see myself presently.
I don’t think Helena had anything to do with the baby switch….’howevah’, I think she is neck-deep in this switch ( which, by the by, there must have been more than one…I count three)
I do believe Robin had a hand in this, as well ( unaware there were two Jasons).
I am sure Robin tried to help, in whatever capacity.
But, I have learned in these three years that you are hardly ever wrong. I respect your opinion, SuzieQ.

    Celia replied

    @Shay.
Amazing post, Shaybelle….your words come alive, as you speak of Steve’s Jason.
Automaton is the perfect description–robotic, detached…..lack of human warmth, as you say, is an apt illustration of his persona as old Jason, and to a certain extent, Dylan.
Yes, this change from stonecold to affable demeanor could very well be due to a newfound skill of emoting from within, thus displaying his artistry genuinely and connecting with the viewer.
But, if Jason1 is not exhibiting the characteristcs of the true, “unmoving” sort of thug; then neither is Jason2.
I have yet to see Billy’s Jason not show true emotion and/or compassion.
Is it possible that neither is the real Jason? Stay tuned is right….

    Shay replied

Thank you so much, mia amica! You know I am a very tough customer when it comes to truly being moved by any soap performance these days, so when one actually merits such praise in my estimation, it certainly isn’t going to be of the faint variety! Compared to his waning moments as the classic anti-Q when many a poster here opined that Steve Burton was merely “phoning it in” and going through those old, familiar Stonecold motions, this newly-minted version of “Jason Morgan?” has been incredibly and forcefully emotive, yet still suitably restrained, in his evocation of those barely-below-the-surface feelings. My guess is that what we have here is both a more seasoned and re-energized actor who is immensely glad to be back on his home turf and is giving this character (and the fans…) his absolute all…whether it be knowingly as the genuine article Jason or in a more nuanced performance playing an ongoing man of might and mystery. Perhaps it will take unraveling the past five years to ascertain exactly what sort of metamorphosis this enigma has undergone before we can say with utter certitude which it shall ultimately be!

    Harry replied

I sort of enjoyed watching Burton’s Jason peer through the sky lights at his loved ones like lonely Spiderman.
Steve Burton was born to play that guy peering through the window with longing– so close and yet so far.

I like your Spiderman analogy, Harry! The Flash has those moments, as well! Seriously? I LOVED that scene! Burton’s face when he saw Sam being drugged…that love and, his protecting her at all costs…it truly was a super hero moment of a damsel in distress that packed an emotional wallop….

I was going to say “this isn’t your grandmother’s soap” but, in a sense, it is! GH is back (if even for a brief moment) to its “swashbuckling” days of adventure, intrigue, fun… ( if we could JUST get rid of Sonny & Carly) while the tale of Jason/Drew/Franco plays out.

    Shay replied

That was a truly satisfying and moving moment, Harry! As the ultimate “outsider” who was watching another man assuming his life— complete with his wife!—the stark solitude of Burton’s character lurking above the merriment, along with his painful realization that the long 5-year battle to reclaim what he unwillingly left behind was not yet over but has really only just begun, was unbelievably poignant and heart-rending, although at the same time, hopeful and exciting, as we viewers were left filled with anticipation for come what may….

I cannot say the same for “Stonecold” because I do not know him, yet. Perhaps none of you does either, since the aspect of his character was not perceived favorably, by some. In other words–Six may have dropped the one-dimensional countenance of old.
So far so good for me…..awaiting with bated breath to see how he “ambulates” within society.
One drawback….Sam; the damsel in distress who’s not so virginally innocent ( a malaprop would have used quite a different word)…nor of the world. She’s been to Timbuktu and back…
Do people really change that drastically?……Alas…it’s a soap!!

Just a thought…if Steve B/Jason/Patient 6 is the real StoneCold Jason, it was his money that Billy/Jason used to buy out what is now Aurora. It must have been a huge amount that he stashed away at least 5 years ago. Forgot how he accumulated this much.

She still doesn’t fit and as to paraphrase OJ Simpson’s Dream Team, if she doesn’t fit, she must quit.

Harry…just the fact that you quoted ANYTHING OJ you lost credibility! Nina was a “tad” freaked, but then again Liz has a lot more experience in hostage situations, Cassadine kidnappings, boyfriends and friends getting kidnapped and has seen quite a few gunshots. Nina, by comparison, has only ripped a child from its womb. LOL. And she was obviously very worried for Liz and tried to help. Go easy on Nina… ;)

Julexis-Giddy-Junky Club? Don’t lump over-zealous fans of this couple in with us “moderates” who simply like the two together. Many don’t see passion between two consulting adults as a bad thing. At least this reunion got to me emotionally…thanks to Steve Burton’s fantastic rendering of a lost man found. For a man (Jason) who has trouble expressing himself he’s wearing his heart on his sleeve (on his face/in his eyes) to perfection.

You are so right about that one, Fanny! Drawing upon decades of (soap) history definitely has an advantage when it comes to winning over the hearts and minds of viewers—especially those of the longtime variety—and given that concept has been in such seriously short supply for far too long on GH, this storyline is something that has actually resonated for many of us who have been emotionally-starved with all the newbies and nonsensical plots of the past few years. It’s exactly what we’ve been requesting for seemingly an absolute age, and finally our wish has been granted, well, at least as far as Steve Burton’s return to the Port Charles canvas is concerned. (Apparently, the very vocal messages about endless unnecessary character introductions and shameless castings of ABC soap vets at the expense of legacy players remain to be unheard and addressed….) Still, ’tis a real shame that in order to ultimately experience such a fulfilling scenario it had to include the ubiquitous Sonny….in other words, no matter the improvements we are now witnessing ala the “Q a Deux” tale, alas, some things will never change!

And Carly with her “Jason’s just not the same” whining. Is ANYTHING enough for the King and Queen of Port Charles? God forbid Jason is tired of being target practice for Sonny’s enemies. Just another way to exalt Steve Burton, I guess.

You said a mouthful, Soaphound! Isn’t Sonny and Carly’s typically self-centered way of looking at everything awfully precious? It always comes down to how it affects them and their needs, desires and convenience….forget about the “other people” involved. They simply want what they want, when they want it, and that’s the end of the story….not having their own “personal concierge/protector” version of Jason over these past five years has been such a heavy burden for them to bear! No wonder Sonny is elated to have his “real” Stonecold back after all the tough sacrifices he and the spouse have had to suffer whilst “FauxJason” found a life of his own sans being at the constant, 24/7 “beck and call” of this conceited couple.

One of our fellow-posters said that was definitely unlikely….so, I shut up about it.
I also remarked on the fact that Franco must have a very significant part in this ‘web’, which seems to be expanding.

But I’m thinking Patient 6 Jason has new influences, kindnesses, and helping hands in his life this time around…Ava, Griffin, Greek priest, the lady bartender in NYC. Just like Sonny at one time. Then there’s seeing Sam and his son and their interaction with his other Jason namesake. I feel both of these will alter him from just being a one dimensional enforcer, but still allowing him to be StoneCold and jump through the window.

As for Sam’s Jason. Even with reconstructive surgery I still think he is a Q. Thus Patient 6 Jason’s brother. Maybe he doesn’t want to be a doctor, but he still picked up the Q’s loyalty to family (however it is tested), and their corporate business interest by buying what is now Aurora.

I’m having a harder time figuring how Franco fits in. Obviously there is a very strong connection between him and the other boy in the picture. But just can’t figure him as a brother or Q. So for the time being his best friend.

And like all things moving on, I also think Cassandra has a connection to Helena and will continue the female Cassadin legacy. She shares a striking resemblance to Helena, and the first letters of her name are the same as Cassadin. And where is Nik since others seem to be coming back figuratively from the dead?

Oh well for now, and like others, looking forward to what is next. Just hope less Carly and Sonny, but probably no chance. And I do like Anna and Finn. As unusual as their “relationship” may be, it offers both characters a chance to loosen up. And ties up together the Patient 6, Russian clinic, Cassandra and Valantin.

    I”m wondering a few things…do you remember because I don’t…

Did Heather, Scott and Franco have DNA tests to prove they’re actually mother, father, son?

Scott was married to Susan Moore at one time. Susan is Jason’s mother. Maybe Franco is Susan and Scotty’s son? It also dawned on me, after reading the history…that Heather Weber and Susan Moore were cousins. So if Franco isn’t the twin to be revealed, he is still Jason and Drew’s cousin! (It was never mentioned that they’re related!)

So, Scotty has been with Heather and Susan…maybe Scott’s the father of the twins and they’re both Baldwins! LOL! And Franco is really Alan’s son…which would make him the true Quartermaine!

I wasn’t watching back in the Susan Moore days so I took your lead and did a history search on her. She really got herself involved with key players, any of whom could be related to the Jasons…Scotty, Alan Q, Monica, Heather. Then there’s the lady who Franco thinks is his real mom. She’s a mystery. Not sure how she fits in, but she still seems afraid of repercussions after all of these years, and is still withholding info about who belongs with who. Even Scotty seems to know more than he wants to talk about. And even eluded to some of his missteps (which are many) without being specific when his dad died. But I just don’t think Franco is a Q.

Well I’ll sigh off here…time to watch “Outlander.” Another head scratcher in it’s own way. But at least Claire found Jamie and they are together again.

Rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO freaked out by Jamie marrying Loaghair (name?). In my opinion that was the stupidest thing the writers could have done. I haven’t read the books…my understanding is that in the books Jamie never finds out that she was behind Claire’s “trial”…but in the show????!!!! For him to marry the insane woman who tried to have his great love burned at the stake? How ludicrous was that..how dumb did Jamie sound with that inane dialogue…”you told me to forgive the lass”…

It totally ruined their bond for me. I’m trying to block it out as it’s one of my favorite shows…their romance one of my favorite fictional couples. I adore them…

Season three better step up to the first two seasons. So far, not even close.

I feel much as you do about Jamie and the “other” wife. Lordy, she is such a b*tch. I thought he was more savvy than that, and since he didn’t live with her how did he think he was going to be a good father figure for her girls? Am also disappointed with 2nd season so far.

Thank goodness GH has it’s good moments right now. An some interesting, timely stories. I really, really disike drugs almost as much, or the same as guns. Coincidentally I was playing “The Pusher Man” by Steppenwolf the other day. Funny how many of the 60′s-70′s lyrics are very relevant today. Just wish Cassadra wasn’t the bad girl in this story. I like her as an actress.

I loved the reunion of Jason and Sonny. I can’t wait for the reunion of Jason and Spinelli.
