In this video preview of the next installment of the “Soap Dish” segment that airs tomorrow Friday at noon on the Hallmark MOVIE Channel’s entertainment series, Planet 360, Crystal Chappell (Venice, The INN, The Grove), Galen Gering (Days of our Lives) and Ignacio Serricchio (The Young and the Restless) discuss with each other the fact that when All My Children returns with new episodes and online at the end of April, they will be fast forwarding five years ahead in story.
In addition, the main topic of conversation between the soap stars was is if Susan Lucci’s (Erica Kane) slated one appearance on All My Children will help the show or not, and should Lucci have agreed from the start to appear in more episodes?
Galen Gering stated on Lucci’s one episode return: “I don’t think its going to help it. Obviously, everyone is going to see if for what it is – she is doing one show. You almost should just say, ‘No’. For a show and an industry that has been so great to her for decades to do one show … and obviously there is a lot of stuff that can happen behind the scenes, but if you are going to do one, you might as well do ten! To do one show feels like kind of weird and a bit of a slap in the face to me, I don’t know. “
Crystal Chappell felt differently relating: “I think it’s nice of Susan to do it, because she doesn’t have to. She’s got other things and she had moved on. I don’t think it’s going to hurt it, but it would be nice to have her there. But, they have enough familiar faces on the canvas, that people like and that are fan favorites that I think will be able to carry it. Cook em with Susan Lucci in that first episode, and if there is something titillating in that first episode, than you might be able to keep the fans coming back.”
Now watch the Planet 360 “Soap Dish” segment below, and let us know your thoughts on Susan Lucci appearing thus far in only one episode of All My Children?
