TVGN’s rebranded cable network POP announced today their new network programming slate that will debut in the early part of 2015! Chief among them is Queens of Drama that we reported several months ago was originally titled: Soap Town!

Queens of Drama is now the working title of a docu-series which follows a group of former daytime and primetime soap stars as they attempt to produce a new primetime serial drama to star in.

The cast will need to work in front of and behind the cameras as they develop, pitch, and produce this new steamy series hoping to land a pilot deal by the end of the season. The all-star cast is made up of many well-known fan favorites from the world of soaps that include: General Hospital alum Vanessa Marcil (Brenda), All My Children favorite, Lindsay Hartley (Cara), The Bold and the Beautiful’s Hunter Tylo (Taylor), One Life to Live’s Crystal Hunt (Stacy) and former Passions star Chrystee Phariss (Ex-Simone).  In addition, General Hospital and Knots Landing star, Donna Mills (Madeline, GH, Abby, KL) will make special appearances on the program!

Queens of Drama is being produced by Thinkfactory Media, with Adam Reed, Adam Freeman, Aaron Fishman, Tim Laurie, and Leslie Greif, serving as Executive Producers, who other series credits include: Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and Hatfields & McCoys among others!

So, what do you think about the cast of Queens of Drama? And what do you think about the concept of the gals trying to work together to create a primetime soap that they hope they can get made into a pilot?   Comment below!

This is fantastic news. Lindsay Hartley is on of my favorite actresses period. I’ve loved her in everything she’s done. And I love that she’ll be working with Vanessa Marcil in this. Really looking forward to it, though I’m not sure if my cable company has Pop.

So excited to see my favorite girl FINALLY back on TV where she belongs. I will really enjoy watching Hunter Tylo away from Bold and away from Brad Bell’s awful writing. She was wasted on his show. So great for her fans to be able to see her again.

I agree. The writing on B&B is awful! Looking forward to this series. Hunter has always been a favorite actor on B&B.

I am so looking forward to seeing Hunters gorgeous face and talent…Bell really screwed her over along with “other” writers, one in particular…I hope I will be able to get this channel any dates or times for this to show?

I am such a BIG fan of Vanessa Marcil! I absolutely loved Brenda Barrett on GH-loved her with Sonny. I used to run home after school and tune-in every day! Back then, they had “cliff-hanger” Fridays-which always ended in some love torn scene between Sonny and Brenda. I love Donna Mills, too-loved her as Abby Ewing in Knots Landing!

Sounds great, but…Crystal Hunt????? Seriously????? OMG…I don’t think that TPTB of the upcoming ‘Queens Of Drama’ have ANY IDEA AT ALL as to what they’re getting themselves into here. I mean…IMO, CH is such a HORRIFYING HANDFUL!!!!! From GL to OLTL, not too many people on the GL and OLTL sets liked working with her…at all. An idea: I think that there’s still time. Therefore, I think that the ‘Queens Of Drama’ TPTB need to D-R-O-P that Crystal Hunt chick from the cast and replace her with someone else…as in someone who is more of A TEAM PLAYER…unlike that TOTALLY loony-tuney Crystal Hunt. I think that they’ll be WAY BETTER OFF!!!!!

    A-C-E-S!!!!! And Peace.

Agree, jaybird369…and let’s not forget about her felony assault charge! As said…for me…the show holds no interest whatsoever.

    Hey there #1 Rebecca,

    1. Girlfriend…right off the bat, I do believe that I paid you a compliment (lol).
    2. For a moment there, I totally forgot about Crystal Hunt’s felony assault charge against her. I wonder if there are any new developments with that. I wonder.
    3. Finally, I think that the last 6 words of your post SPEAKS VOLUMES!!!!! I’m starting to think that the ‘Queens Of Drama’ will COME AND GO LIKE THE WIND. Yep.

    Take care, Rebecca. XOXOXOXOXO

    Hey there Rebecca,

I feel the need to clear something up here. In my recent post to you, when I referred to you as #1 Rebecca, that was the compliment (from me to you). I hope that explains things.

    Take care, Rebecca.

    Peace.
