There was not a dry eye in the On-Air On-Soaps household, and I can’t imagine there were any longtime fans of One Life to Live’s young lovers, Starr and Cole, that did not reach for the hankies! In yesterday’s moving and powerful scenes, Cole, after being sentenced to ten years in prison for killing Eli, comes to say goodbye to Starr and his baby girl, Hope, before being taken away to prison.
As many know, these were the final scenes between Brandon Buddy as Cole Thornhart with Kristen Alderson as Starr Manning. For over four years fans watched the trials and tribulations of this young couple torn apart by so many circumstances and people and yet in the end their love somehow persevered. What made these scenes all the more heartbreaking is that Cole broke up with Starr and told her to move on with her life. I am sure viewers of the show witnessed the real tears and sorrow between Buddy and Alderson as they shared their final scenes together. Brandon Buddy broke our hearts, and Kristen followed suit.
