Brant Daugherty who first garnered notice to daytime fans in the recurring role of Brian on Days of our Lives, then as Noel on Pretty Little Liars, and then as a celebrity contestant on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, has been cast in the upcoming motion picture, Fifty Shades Freed.
‘Freed’ is one of two sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey, and will be the third movie released in its franchise. According to EW.com, Daugherty will play Luke Sawyer, the bodyguard Christian (Jamie Dornan) employs to look after Anastasia (Dakota Johnson), as revealed by Fifty Shades author E.L. James on her Twitter account.
Daugherty tweeted back to James: “Thanks for the warm welcome
@E_L_James! I can’t say how excited I am to bring Sawyer to life #FiftyShades” Next, Brant received a tweet from Marcia Gay Harden that related: Welcome to #FiftyShades @brantdaugherty glad u r joining the #FiftyFamily. Love Mama Grey” To which Daugherty replied: “So sweet of you, thanks Mama Grey! I’ll take good care of your family.”
James Foley is set to direct the next two installments of ‘Fifty Shades’ from scripts penned by James’ husband, Niall Leonard. Fifty Shades Freed is scheduled for theaters on February 9th, 2018, while the second installment, Fifty Shades Darker, set for release on February 10th, 2017.
