29 July 7th, 2015 QUEENS OF DRAMA Season Two Casting: Which Two Name Soap Actresses Would You Like To See Join The Cast?

Courtesy/POP

It looks like Pop’s docu-series Queens of Drama that featured for most of the season: Donna Mills, Crystal Hunt, Lindsay Hartley and Chrystee Pharris, is gearing up for a second season!

As fans know throughout the first season, Vanessa Marcil and Hunter Tylo were seen less than the other gals for different reasons, with Hunter bowing out after her on-camera accident.

Now through a casting call that is circulating, the Pop series is looking for two name soap opera actresses of any ethnicity in their early 20s-early 60s to join the cast.

The show is scheduled to begin filming in mid to late fall for up to ten episodes, and the pay rate, according to Soap Opera Digest, is listed at approximately $40,000.  So if you were casting the series, which name soap women would you like to see thrown into the mix with Mills and company?

Put on your casting director hats and let us know in the comment section below!

Neither of these actresses fits the age group., Lil’ Angel. Andrea Evans and Hillary B Smith are closer to the age group.
Younger group: Kristen Alderson and Kelley Missal.

The article clearly states early 20′s to early 60′s. Victoria is 56 and Kimberlin is 54. How does that not fit the age range? Besides, there is no greater queen of drama than Victoria Rowell.

    Alan replied

Lil Angel, you are spot on with Kimberlin Brown and Victoria Rowell — both are clearly in the age range and were HUGE fan favorites during their runs on Y&R. Those two ladies could shake things up.

    Nikki replied

Victoria Rowell is not a queen of drama. She is a trouble maker from the get go and she needs time out not a job.

    CeeCee replied

I apologize…my bad. I misread. I skimmed through the article. You are right. I thought they were looking for actresses in their early 20′s AND 60′s. Sorry, again, Lil’ Angel. So, yes, I agree with your choices.

Is it 20′s to 60′s or one actress in her 20′s and one in her 60′s ?

    CeeCee replied

    @Nikki.
Hi, LOL. I think it’s actresses who are in their early twenties through their early sixties. Very obscure sentence, Nikki. I ask the same thing. One in her twenties and one in her sixties?
It’s funny….this is the first time I question my knowledge of the English language, and its grammar, considering I am a grammar-fanatic.
The entire sentence is convoluted, if you ask me. Makes me feel dumb.LOL.

I would love to know what happened to Hunter. They really didn’t even show what happened on TV. She just fell to the ground? Is that it?

I think it would have to be someone who isn’t currently on a soap so they will have time to devote to the show.

Vanessa should not have been included if she wasn’t willing to be on the developed show.

Just reading the early posts on this thread shows how many wonderful female actors have graced the daytime drama genre. Where are they now?

There are some with authentic television production chops who would lend a little more gravitas to the show. Martha Byrne. Eden Riegel. Lauralee Bell. Cady McClain. Tamara Tunie. And how about Eva LaRue?

I have very mixed feelings about this show. I was looking forward to it, but once I had watched several episodes I gave up; there was just way too much bitching for my taste that made the women seem nothing short of shallow.

However, that being said ~ and here comes the “mixed” part ~ I would love to see a mature, classy actress like (sorry for any misspelled names) Kim Hayes, Erika Slezak, Linda Dano, Maeve Kincaid come to mind. Or if they wanted another spicier actress how about Eileen Fulton, Elizabeth Hubbard, Kim Zimmer, or Anna Stuart.

For younger actresses, how about Sandra Furgueson, Jansen Buchanan, Jennifer Landon, Martha Byrnes, Aubrey Dollar, Britteny Snow. (Again, sorry about any misspelled names.)

I would love to see Michelle Stafford and Linsey Godfrey add to the mix. Jess Walton can certainly hold her own as well.

I agree with the some of the suggestions….Tracey Bregman & Kimberlin Brown would be great. Just to throw another name out there….Stepfanie Kramer. Fair enough she’s most known for a long running, prime time cop show (“Hunter”), but she has also done Dynasty & Knots Landing.
So long as Donna Mills returns for season 2!!
