Just as General Hospital is about to move into its new time slot on Monday, the show had some terrific news in the ratings department!
The excitement of the storylines, the returns, and the surprises, have paid off and for the ratings period of August 27th-31st, General Hospital was the only soap to show gains. In fact, it gained +215,000 in total viewers, and was the only daytime drama to add viewers in the key 18-49 female demo!
GH also moved ahead of Days of our Lives into the number three slot of the four remaining network soaps! Can GH’s new time up the numbers even further? Stay tuned!
The show losing the most ground for the ratings week was Days of our Lives, which had just rebounded post-Olympics with two strong ratings week. Some fans of Salem dropped out for the week as the show registered a loss of -200,000 in total viewers, and the NBC soap also lost the most ground in the women 18-49 demo. However, DAYS is still ahead of where it was a year ago at this time.
The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful remained once again firmly in the number one and two positions, but both shows did not have strong weeks losing – 166,000 and – 173,000 in total viewers respectively. You can view all the numbers courtesy of Soap Opera Network here!
