Leave it to soap stalwarts John McCook and Rena Sofer (Eric and Quinn) of The Bold and the Beautiful to generate some major numbers for the CBS Daytime drama in the latest ratings for the week of September 26-30th.
The fallout from Eric and Rena’s wedding and Eric landing in the hospital in critical condition helped B&B to almost 4 million total viewers for the week (3,913,000) while gaining viewers in all key womens demos 18-34, 18-49, and 25.54 with an increase in ratings shares, as well.
The only other daytime drama to gain viewers was NBC’s Days of our Lives which added +17,000 bringing its tally to 2,213,000. The ongoing drama of the three super-villains reign of terror continuing to cause havoc for many Salem favorites has shown a slight uptick. DAYS also gained viewers in the 25-54 demo.
General Hospital, which featured the beginning of the end for Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) being revealed to all as the hospital serial killer, saw the ABC daytime drama losing -8,000, but GH still came in with 2,703,000 for the ratings week, and saw gains in the women 18-49 and 18-34 demos. GH also tied an all-time low in 18-34 ratings share.
Finally, first place Y&R was the show with the most in the minus column for the week in question. Y&R lost -98,000 total viewers bringing their average tally to 4,691,000. The soap tied an all-time low in 18-49 womens demo ratings share and lost viewers in that demo, as well. However,Y&R saw an uptick in women 18-34.
