The ratings are out for the week of October 6th through October 10th, and ultimately The Young and the Restless bested the rest of the network daytime dramas for the ratings period, in that they were the only soap to show gains in total viewers and in every key demo!
The Young and the Restless gained +172,000 viewers for the week, bringing their total viewers to 4,740,000, as compared to General Hospital, which saw a loss of -265,000 for the week, bringing their total viewer count to below 3 million again with 2,776,000. The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of our Lives only lost – 31,000 and -10,000 viewers, respectively.
The number one soap opera also saw gains in all key women’s demos: 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54. And the week was most watched beginning on the Monday, October 6th episode as Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) walked in to Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) wedding spoiling the nuptials of Shick, and letting all of Genoa City that she is out of her coma! This sent shockwaves through Genoa City and the beginnings of the subsequent fallout played throughout the week. You can view the entire ratings picture via SON here.
