One of the greatest gifts to daytime soaps is getting to watch the talents of Ricky Paull Goldin currently, Jake, on All My Children.  Ricky took to his twitter account tonight and started with a touching paragraph from poetry and then on to his personal thoughts.

RPG tweeted, “Hello dear friends. All of us who labor in the arts know that it can be a lonely existence. We often find ourselves living a life of solitary dreams, disconnected from others, and driven by a vision that no one else seems to value or share. On some days, this can become overwhelming. We then thirst for a single voice of understanding that will reach into our solitary lives and reassure us that the path we have chosen is worthy, and that the rewards it offers are worth all it entails.” (Excerpt from ‘Letters to a Young Poet’)

“With the news that came today I have had an incredible outpouring of support and heard and read the voices of thousands supporting One Life To Live & All My Children’s artistic journey. Although the news comes as a mighty surprise, it is not myself I am thinking about at this time but rather the rest of the cast, crew and their families. I am not angry. I am only grateful and I will miss my All My Children family when we go our separate ways in August. I love you all dearly. Ricky”

I loved the excerpt from Letters to a Young Poet.
It’s so true though,my brother works in the Arts -theatre mostly and it can be a very solitary existence ,because in the final analysis it is you and your craft.

    Bless you Ricky.
