We shared many glasses of Vino Rosso together brother.  I’ll never forget how excited you were to land B&B. By the way you still owe me that lobster dinner. I was jealous until I realized I didn’t want to be naked in public. Tony was missing half of his T-shirt and hat. May you rest in heaven dear brother Tony. Save me a place. Love you.  Love U Brutha RIP”

Although death is the inevitable conclusion to all life, it is still so sad to hear of someone so young passing on at such a young age. To all his friends and family who might see this my deepest condolences, no words can prepare you to cope with the grief losing a loved one inflicts– it will be a journey with many valleys and few peaks, but if one embraces the sorrow as part of the love one felt for the one who is gone, it is easier than battling against it— RIP Anthony

On Oct 9, during Hurricane Matthew,He went to the emergency room with stomach cramps. They overdosed him on Heparin which caused a severe brain hemorrhage & within minutes he was holding his head & screaming. They gave him a sedative, put him in an ambulance & sent him to another hospital where they tried to reverse the other hospital’s mistake with Protamine Sulfate. When the 2nd hospital realized he needed a neurosurgeon they sent him to another hospital with an expert neurology team. Because of the storm they were unable to send him via helicopter & he laid there for 5 hours waiting for an ambulance. Finally, at the 3rd hospital, the doctors performed a ventriculostomy to try & relieve pressure on his brain but it was too late. He was in a coma with severe brain damage. He passed 10 days later. It was horrible! He was such a giving, loving & gracious person, so full of life & adventure. He was a talented artist and an amazing big brother. I miss him everyday.
    “Vini Vidi Vici” big bro!

I am so sorry to hear of the pain he went through and that his death was avoidable.

  7. blake says:

Oh man how sad! Lately I have been watching his scenes from Guiding Light when he and Beth were together. It was when jim, Beth, Phillip, Harley, cassie and Richard were in San Cristobel and Beth and Phillip were in the crashed plane and Jim went for help.

I always thought Anthony Addabbo was very good looking and hot! I didn’t know he was on these other soaps.

That was a great time on GL when he was on wasn’t it? I miss gl!!!!!

  8. Celia says:

I am not familiar with this actor, but, is he related to Nick Stabile? What a striking resemblance!
Condolences and well-wishes to his family.

    Soaphound replied

Oh yes, Celia, he was very good on GL back in the heyday. His character Jim was a genuinely nice guy that I wish the Beth character would have permanently dumped Philip for. He was strikingly handsome and it’s nice to read that he was a good guy in real life as well. It’s so sad when stars pass away, I hope they know a little of how much joy and entertainment they’ve given us over the years.

    Celia replied

What a presence this guy has….must have had. Sad. He is now with God for his eternal sleep.

Soaphound…oh, I agree. Oh…and, after a while, I got tired of (and even more bored with) Phillip and Beth (couple-wise). Also, when the character of Jim Lemay came onto the GL canvas (and eventually hooked-up with Beth), I liked the character right away. To me, Jim was down-to-earth, heroic, manly, sensitive and (in general) A REAL MAN!!!!! Unlike Phillip…who was nothing but arrogant, cocky, jerky, immature AND EVEN MORE SELF-CENTERED!!!!! Oh…and Jim was THE BEST THING that ever happened to Beth…UNLIKE Phillip!!!!! Then, one day, TPTB at GL acted like STUPID CLOWNS by cruelly and heartlessly killing Jim in that stupid fire!!!!! BEYOND DUMB AS HELL!!!!! DUMB PERIOD!!!!!

    Have a good one, Soaphound.

  9. Jay Gates says:

My heart breaks as 2016 has claimed another great talent. Tony was a great actor, a great artist and a great friend. We shared some wonderful times. He always put his family before his career and himself and I will always admire his heart. Rest in peace Tone Loc

Thank you Jay. I love you man. My heart is still broken. You are a good friend.

  10. mark says:

He was so good on guiding light I wish he had stayed till the bitter end I wouldn’t have minded watching that mess as much.

  11. Ces says:

I’m so sorry to hear Anthony has passed away. What a handsome & talented man. Gone too soon.

  12. Mary says:

I’m very sorry to hear this.

  13. L says:

Anthony Addabbo will be missed. Guiding Light and All my Children should have had him on long term contracts. A true gentleman in every role he played and handsome. Guiding Light made a mistake losing him in a fire. It doesn’t make sense why the show is gone. Good bye Anthony.

  14. Jen says:

All my love and prayers. You will be missed. Tony was a kind hearted as he was handsome.

  15. Tracy Leatherwood says:

Wow! I knew Tony well and hung out with him a great deal @ VT! He looked me up just last year on Facebook and sent me a picture of us in my dorm room. Tony was soooo funny and smart and full of life! As his friend Winsor said, all . . . ALL of the most beautiful women at Va Tech were infatuated with him! I’ve told stories about him all day and am deeply saddened! His family are in my prayers and Tony will ALWAYS hold a very special place in my heart!!!

  16. Rae Anne Tilden says:

I was sad to hear of Anthony’s passing. I remember him from Y&R. Rest in peace

  17. Melissa And Marybeth says:

My sister and I were so sad and shocked by the passing of Tony. We were childhood friends in Va Beach. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family during this difficult time. We followed his talent for many years and proud and honored to have known such an awesome person!
