13 August 13th, 2011 SOAPnet announces programming schedule Post-AMC!

Yup, the time is drawing near, and it certainly feels more so now that SOAPnet has announced their plans for their revised programming schedule after the last episode of All My Children airs on Sept. 23.

According to Soap Opera Digest, the new line-up and programming block has the canceled primetime soap, Brothers & Sisters joining the schedule, while Ryan’s Hope has been dropped entirely.  In addition, classic episodes of All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital will now air in the overnight (3 a.m. – 6 a.m.) timeslot.  The scheduling revision also puts Days of our Lives into a better position inside the primetime block.

After the jump, check out the SOAPnet programming schedule as of Monday, Sept 26th in order for you to know when to be at home to catch the same-day episodes and other acquisition programming, or to TIVO them!
THE OC will air at 6 a.m. & 11 a.m.
ONE TREE HILL will air noon-3 p.m.
BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 will air at 3 p.m. & 4 p.m.
BROTHERS & SISTERS is added to the schedule at 5 p.m. & 6 p.m.
YOUNG AND RESTLESS will air at 7 p.m. 11 p.m. & 10 a.m.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES will air at 8 p.m., midnight & 7 a.m.
ONE LIFE TO LIVE will air at 9 p.m., 1 a.m. & 9 a.m.
GENERAL HOSPITAL will air at 10 p.m., 2 a.m. & 8 a.m.
Classic episodes of AMC, OLTL and GH will air at 3 a.m., 4 a.m. (M-F) and 5 a.m. (Mon-Thu & Sun)

The weekend preceding AMC’s last week on television, SOAPnet will air the Best Of AMC on Saturday, Sept 17 and Sunday, Sept 18 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

    Well it depends on how “classic” these episodes are. We know for holidays and stuff, ABC’s idea of classic episodes is something from eariler in the year or a couple of months eariler. I would love for them to go back to the 80′s or even 1990′s. Glad Brothers & sisters is comming on though. It was a good show and deserves a bigger following.

    I have always wanted the ABC soaps to air repeats on SoapNet so I am most excited by the classic episodes that will be airing of AMC, OLTL, and GH.

    It still amazes me how great these shows were 15/16 years ago when they were so much more entertaining to watch. The whole one hour daily drama needs to change from a production standpoint so much and the stories need to improve and I am hoping Prospect Park plans on evolving AMC and OLTL and not just airing them.

    As far as GH, if they thought all they needed was Guza fired and at the bell all is well. Forget it, Story, Story and Story is very important but your cast is also full of Corinthos’s extended family and children, where are the classic character’s families. Where’s Robert, Anna, Ned, Lois, Dillon, Lucy, Scott, Laura, Bobbie, Kevin, Lucas, Serena, Felicia, even Frisco (if you can pull JW away from B&B)? As far as our dearly departed write back from the dead stories for AJ, Alan, Duke Lavery, Zander, Emily?

    TC and Ingo’s firings served no purpose…I would have preferred to see GH lose the newbies than the presence of Jax and Nikolas.

    Bring on some competent police officers who aren’t Sonny’s son (he should have lost his badge months ago)! Why not FBI agent Jagger Cates, sexy as hell, hates Sonny and Jason and was a terrific return on Night Shift 2!!

    The only person who holds any connection to Sonny that I would cheer coming back is Rick Hearst as Mr. Ric Lansing, he is a phenomenal actor to watch on any show. Plus if you just started watching GH you would think Molly was also Sonny’s kid with the way her father is never mentioned and she floats in the pack with all his kids.

    Another story note to GH…Sonny doesn’t have to be on everyday when all his connections are on everyday…thanks to Guza…Sonny became a part of everything and even when you aren’t watching him, you are still watching his ex loves, ex wives, enemies, sons, daughters, best friends, and victims…literally it’s sick how much his hand imprint is on every character.

    As far as JFP’s recent interview, we need the fans well then you need to stop the ageneda of the network or the hire ups and bring back what fans love, they know and get rid of what they are tired of and don’t want to see anymore. Fix the problems, fix the show. While you are it…change it up even for a long time viewer like myself, the Production of daytime soap is old and stale…Shake it up. Why not treat the stories like arcs…giving all the characters outs not just TG’s Luke and making it more like seasonal TV even without taking a yearly hiatus like every other genre except Daytime does.

    Put the above mentioned vets on recurring and bring them in and out like you do Luke to shake up story and give back the generational story telling GH use to have for everyone not just Sonny and Carly with the exception of Bobbie and even Ron Hale’s Mike who were both given up on by the show but gave Sonny and Carly the most important parts of their character and the most memorable scenes for the characters.

    So I will enjoy watching the GH classics most…..so much more than the episodes they air today. Because when I watch the repeats I watch legacy, history, family and characters I love and I can’t say that about today’s General Hospital at all. I will also enjoy looking back at OLTL and AMC but I am looking forward to their future in someone else’s hands creatively, production wise other than ABC.
    SoapNet adding Brothers and Sisters or removing Ryan’s Hope doesn’t really matter to me at all. I would have liked to see Another World make a return to SoapNet, that show was definitely a past favorite.

    I vented alot…didn’t mean to do that…I will enjoy the AMC, OLTL, and GH reruns until SoapNet is cancelled!!!

    If the network is called Soapnet, why not feature soaps? Another World, As The World Turns, Generations, Sunset Beach, Santa Barbara, Guiding Light, Port Charles, The City, Loving…..I could go on. To me, this network was a joke since day one. I mean it’s nice that they air the soaps at night, if you miss them in the day, but they never really focused on featuring daytime programs. Hours and hours of Beverly Hills 90210, or One Tree Hill…that are prime time dramas should never have been the major focus. Plus I miss watching Soap Talk with Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway….cause it was nice to finally see a talk show have daytime stars featured…you know, to come on and do interviews and show scenes from their prospective shows. I mean, you never see them on any of the current talk shows. So, whomever came up with Soapnet, really dropped the ball big time, cause they never made the network what it should have been about…. Daytime Soaps.

    Hey, the reason they don’t show the old soaps is because you and I would see how good the writing and the actors use to be. They did use to show AW and the old Dallas, Knots Landing, Falcon Crest but then they decided to go with the younger crowd. A shame!!!

    I miss the older soaps, too, kay killgore. I find more and more I drift on to youtube to catch scenes or openings of our dearly departed programs. There is always such chatter about the diversity of cable. And while it really isn’t all that diverse actually, a soap network with classic episodes and reruns of classic primetime programs would be welcome by me. Seems it is not going to be SoapNet, however.

    I have read that AMC and eventually OLTL will be on the internet. That is fine and dandy but internet people that have a cap on their internet may not get to watch them because it will use all of there k bits or whatever there are called. I was hoping that soapnet might show them all on the weekend. I’m going to be pretty upset if I won’t be able to see them at all. I look forward to watching them and now there taking two of the best soaps off the air to put on what, another reality or talk show. I’m getting really sick of reality shows and more talk shows. I know the economy is in the toilet but the soaps are our escape at least for a couple of hours. I feel bad for the people that don’t have the internet and like me will not be able to watch their two favorite shows. Call Oprah, maybe she will put them on her network, it would be good for her network and get more people to watch her network since she just launched it. BRING BACK AMC AND OLTL,PLEASE.

    I agree with you 100%. I said they should call Oprah!!! There are not too many good shows on her network, so an assortment of daytime and nightime soaps would be an added feature. Then maybe I would watch more of her network.

    Please…soapnet…since AMC was cancelled…and its not going online…and u wont sell the right to past episodes…now that ur converting soapnet to a cartoon channel…@ lease keep the reruns of soaps n the evening? kids arent going to b up all nite and adults/fans r willing to watch late or DVR it…make the best of both worlds…its cheap..comeon…rerun the older versions and go from there…ive watched for 40yrs…now thats dedication!

    Why did you cancel “Young and the Restless” on the weekends, Saturdays? It was comforting to catch up on the soaps, from Mon thru Fri; on Saturdays. Why did you mess with a perfect arraingement? Please re-schedule my favorite soap in the intire world, back to the old way it was; it is so inconvienant to try to catch up with what go’s on with the story during the week!!!!!!! Are you at least considering putting the soap back to it’s original weekend slot from 7pm- till midnight? It did make the stories flow better. YOUR THROWING ME OFF EVERY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this arraingement temporary? Please get back to with at least telling me that you will consider returning my soap to the weekends again please e-mail me back, at least tell me it’s gone for good. Can’t wait to here from you.

    I can hear Y&R at 7pm but no picture. Why?? I dont find soapnet on my tv guide button either. is there another channel??

    I have enjoyed watching the reruns of AMC from 12:00am – 3:00am and wonder if you will be airing the new shows that will be starting on an internet station this April, 2013. I also wonder if you will go way back to the beginning of AMC or perhaps air shows during a time when the plot lines were the hottest , i/e When Erica was married to Traves Montgomery but then his brother Jack entered the picture!!!. AS a matter of fact, what would stop your network from airing the new AMC shows in primetime?
