The 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards were held last night in New York City hosted by former As the World Turns star, Martha Byrne. Produced and created by the excellent team of We Love Soaps led by Roger Newcomb, the awards certainly were sprinkled around to different series, and honored many indie web soaps for their efforts over the past year.
The Bay took home the Fans’ Choice Award and it’s creator, Gregori J. Martin won the Best Director prize. Venice was also honored for it’s superb acting in the Supporting Actress and Actor categories with wins for Hillary B. Smith as Guya, and Jordan Clarke was The Colonel.
Indie Soap of the Year, the top honor, went to Robert Towsend’s, Diary of a Single Mom. Anthony Anderson won Lead Actor honors for his role in Anacostia, and Monica Calhoun won Lead Actress from Diary of a Single Mom.
