May I have the wrong envelope, please! That may have been the mantra of The Talk’s Aisha Tyler who literally wowed those in attendance, and those at home, watching the broadcast of the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Sunday June 16th on HLN!

As fans know, Aisha was handed the wrong envelope for the category her and her The Talk co-stars, Sheryl Underwood, Julie Chen, Sarah Gilbert, and Sharon Osbourne, were presenting during the live event.  Aisha saved the day noticing the envelope and the winner in it, was not for the category they were presenting for talk shows, because we later learned that when she opened it, the winner read, “The Bold and the Beautiful”!

NATAS sent a special floral arrangement and a letter to surprise Aisha on yesterday’s episode of the CBS hit talk show, which contents were read to Aisha by Sharon Osbourne.  It read: “Dear Aisha:  We love you and thank you for being so on top of your job as a presenter! And, for turning a potential disaster into one of the most press-worthy and fun moments of the evening! Dinner and cocktails are on us, the next time you are in New York!  We love you, from everyone at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.”

Watch Aisha’s surprise after the jump!  Then, let us know what you think about NATAS’ classy act to give a special shout to Aisha for saving the day on Emmy night?

Was the outside of the envelope mislabeled?

That is nice they sent her flowers and that she was awake when she opened it!

I think NATAS owes Aisha a helluva lot more than just flowers and dinner. I think they should tap her to host the next one of these if they have any say in the matter. Very classy on their part, I approve. And just cuz I’m sure it’s not said NEARLY enough, HLN did the worst job in the history of the Daytime Emmys. EVER. It was a pimping of Robin Meade, and that’s all it was, and it was obvious, and it sucked. I care about the Daytime genre. I hate the lack of respect that was shown to the awards ceremony by HLN. I’m proud of Aisha.

It really was one of the worst Emmys in quite a while.

I thought this years Emmy telecast was an improvement over last years, even with the mistakes. It certainly was millions of times better than the 2 that were from Las Vegas!
