Say what you will about the decisions or directions of certain storylines from head writer and executive producer Chuck Pratt, but the fact of the matter is The Young and the Restless is not suffering one bit!
The number one soap opera averaged over 5.16 million viewers for the ratings period and that was up 5% from last year. From disaster storylines, to doppelgangers, to a murder mystery and more, the current Y&R regime and its faster moving stories and sometime sensationalistic story points are moving the ratings needle upward.
While some different couplings are being explored, and while some characters have exited the canvas, Peter Bergman’s (Jack/Marco) dual role being front and center, and the truth about Gabriel’s (Justin Hartley) true identify getting closer and closer to being revealed, 5 million plus eyeballs is nothing to sneeze at whether it be a primetime or daytime series!
So, what do you think about Y&R’s ratings performance in the second quarter, it’s best in five years? Comment below!
