As had been reported the powers-that-be at All My Children exec producer, Julie Hanan Carruthers and head writer, Chuck Pratt, have come up with a soap opera version of the classic Gig Young film, They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? via an epic two weeks dance marathon with most of the cast. In a new feature in TV Guide Magazine released today, Carruthers admits budgetary reasons had a lot to do with the storyline choice, by keeping the actors in one set for several days. The excerpt below tells us about what to expect during the dance-off!
“We’ve got characters making time for a five-minute quickie, there are fights in the ladies room, a little stalking, a possible murder. It’s fun!” says exec producer Julie Hanan Carruthers. Things also get a little goofy. “I promise you a chicken dance with full cast participation,” Carruthers says. “You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Thorsten Kaye [Zach] doing the finger snap.”
Looks like hot couple, Susan Lucci and Cameron Mathison will be able to utilize their “Dancing with the Stars” experience and put it to good use!
