This will come as tremendous news for fans of TNT’s Dallas reboot! The primetime sudser has officially been renewed for a third season!

According to Deadline.com: TNT has ordered 15 episodes for the third season, which is slated to launch in early 2014. “Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.’s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted,” TNT’s head of programming Michael Wright said.

There was concern that after Dallas’ freshmen season where ratings were high, the show suffered ups and down in the ratings in season two that the Ewing clan might not see a third season! After a slow start in the new slot on Monday’s in season two, the show rebounded.  The episode in which Larry Hagman’s character J.R. was laid to rest drew 3.6 million viewers, rising to 4.9 million in Live+7. For the entire second season, Dallas has averaged 3.8 million viewers in Live+7, with 1.6 million adults 25-54 and 1.4 million adults 18-49.

So are you thrilled at the news that Dallas will continue in 2014?  Let us know!

for me it’s a kick to know she’s Cliff Barnes daughter…

that makes it nice… like he’s every present and is always a part of Dallas…

geez… on the original… he tried so hard to overthrow the Ewings…

props to his being…. a mainstay. A Barnes if you will…

and yes…. John Ross and Pamela are steaming…. the underlying passion between these two is real’ing.

Very happy this show is renewed for a 3rd season. This is a great show, very entertaining. Since this will be premiered in the summer, I’m sure the ratings will be better. This past season was on Monday nights during the winter, which faced more competition. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s up with the Ewings and new feuds.

Oops, just realized that it’s for first part of 2014, I remembered reading another article and it was originally predicted to be summer 2014. I’m sure the ratings will be good and looking forward to another exciting season.

Awesome news! I thought Dallas was on fire in Season 2, and even though the ratings weren’t as good as the first season, I’m glad TNT decided to keep it around. I just hate having to wait until 2014 to see what happens next, lol.

    “Thank God” – “Amen”

    The whole cast is delivering.

save for sometimes…. Jordana Brewster… but that could be because she’s obviously playing supporting act.

I’m happy! for Bobby – Sue Ellen – Cliff – have to acknowledge the stalwarts…. the younger brood is all the greater for them.

for the first time in a long time…. watching the whole cast ACT is easy to do.

Nope to dallas. The only soap from tnt worth watching is the NBA! Traditional soaps can’t compete w/ the drama and excitement from NBA games. Practically everything is reality tv now. And the NBA is reality tv that is real. The off court and on court drama! Trading between teams! Injuries affecting rosters! The trash talking between coaches and athletes. The hilarious fashion from NBA athletes! The competition between teams! These athletes are very talented and disciplined of course. They wouldn’t reach the elite level of competing at the NBA if they were not disciplined. It’s not like w/ actors where some of them make it bec they used to model and have the right look for roles. Some are related to a hollywood figure and use that to get roles. None of those factors matter w/ NBA. And that makes the NBA all the more entertaining and admirable. And the NBA is even more racially diverse compared to hollywood tv shows bec an NBA game is a tv show. The “leading men” of the NBA are majority African american. But of course there are white athletes and foreign athletes. There are Latino american athletes and the NBA has its Asian american athlete. The racial diversity from the NBA is superior to hollywood’s racial diversity bec sports is a meritocracy while “acting talent” is opinion based. The NBA is very soapy. And it’s at its soapiest now w/ the playoffs!

Yes I am enjoying the show , like to see someone brought in with that roughneck cowboy attitude like JR and his daddy had, but great show.

The writers have done a fantastic job in season 2! Love how the characters are developing. Great selection of music at the end of last show. JR was said to be “The man you love to hate” hope John Ross will be “The son we love to hate”. Looking forward to season 3. Keep up the good acting! Terrific selection of actors visiting and permanent. Thanks.
