I was sorry Erika Slezak didn’t win her 7th Emmy, and I was furious at the way she was treated in that “tribute” that was mostly Susan Lucci patting herself on the back. At the very least, the two actresses should have come out together and had equal time. Mathison made it worse, shouldn’t even have been out there unless another OLTL actor came out. And then he took Erika Slezak’s line about the fans! I doubt it was purposeful, but it was one last slap in the face for ES and the OLTL fans. Not only was OLTL far superior to AMC in recent years, and the ratings were much higher. The only good thing was that ES got much more enthusiastic applause from the audience than Lucci. Have nothing against Susan Lucci. It was the horrible unbalance of the “tribute” that angered me.

Very well said and accurate. It was appalling. Few, if any, watching could think otherwise.

I am still shaking my head about the mess they call a tribute it was a lets all get down on our knees and praise susan lucci for her portrayal of ericka kane, Seriously susan I can name many, many, more characters on all my children who were better than you, how self centered that woman is, she carried on like it was only about her, News flash Susan Lucci you can’t act, the best actress was on your left that’s why she won 6 emmys. and by the way her name is ERICKA SLEZAK, IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW, THE BEST ACTRESS IN DAYTIME, PUT HER IN PRIME PUT HER ON ANY TIME, BEST ACTRESS EVER, And who ever gave out those awards, is an ass who does not watch soaps.

Listened to your comments about video clips, and I don’t understand how there was any excuse not to have clips of OLTL when high quality montages, such as the one below, have been available on YouTube for months:

because the show could not secure the rights from ABC to show the clips – they put this together in about 2 weeks.

I don’t doubt what you are saying, but I don’t get it. Video clips, like the one I linked, are all over YouTube. So what if HLN had shown them? What’s Disney/ABC going to do? Sue HLN for their use when it promoted Disney/ABC? Isn’t the press allowed to use images and videos when discussing shows? Disney/ABC should have done nothing and been grateful for the free promotion. Litigation would have been stupid.
