Several of the Bon Temps residents, vampires and humans took part in a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday along with the executive producer of HBO’s True Blood, Brian Bruckner! With season six well underway and a recent pick-up for a season seven, there was lots to chime in about!
Joe Manganiello, Anna Camp, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Deborah Ann Woll, Rutina Wesley, Robert Kazinsky, Nelsan Ellis, Kristin Bauer and Michael McMillian were the members of the cast participating the San Diego Comic-con panel.
TV Guide has a write-up of some of the mentioned upcoming game-changers at the panel for fans of the soapy vamp series airing Sunday night’s at 9PMEST8CST. Here are just a few below to whet your appetite!
Of note: there is spoiler-filled sneak peek (you can watch after the jump) of upcoming episodes which shows some peril awaiting the key character of the series! Among the highlights: Sookie (Anna Paquin) is at a funeral, Sam (Sam Trammell) and Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) are hooking up, Bill (Stephen Moyer) storms the compound, but seems to end up in that room he’s seen in the prophecy — and he doesn’t look OK.
In addition, Sookie’s got a potential new love interest in Warlow (Rob Kaminsky), the vampire-faerie hybrid who has been hunting her down for decades! Anna Paquin related to TVG, “There’s a part of Sookie that’s distrustful of everyone at this point,” noting that Sookie is “wary, but also drawn to him.” Unfortunately, her interaction with Warlow has led to the truth about her parents planning to kill her when she was a child. “That’s kind of a bummer,” Paquin joked. But there could be hope since Kazinsky questions whether Warlow is truly evil. “You’re going to see some gnarly stuff,” he said.
And as far as the season finale, while the cast remained coy about it, Buckner said the season-ender would streamline the series. “You’re going to feel that the show is going to return back to its roots and be about this gang of people living in Bon Temps.”We’re going to try to condense the number of stories we’re telling and really make this feel like we’re going home.”
Now watch the spoilereque trailer of upcoming episodes of True Blood! Which hot plot has you most intrigued? Are you glad that season seven will go back to the series roots and condense the number of stories the series has been spinning? Who should get killed-off, if so? Weigh-in!
