There was some very good news this weekend! The Young and the Restless Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) is reportedly on the mend recovering and making great progress since being hospitalized and landing in the ICU!
Jeanne’s son actor/director Corbin Bernsen posted on Facebook Sunday that the legendary daytime star who has played grande dame of Genoa City for 40 years, was even well enough to let him take her picture and post it, according to CBS 2 Local news in Los Angeles!
She gave a thumbs up in the photo and Bernsen said, “then, without hesitation, she flipped me the bird.” That, he joked, was how he knows his mother is on the mend and returning to her true irascible and loveable self. “It’s a great sign,” he wrote.
Bernsen added that Cooper is “overwhelmed by your the fans abundance of thoughts and prayers for her.” He also added that his mother has “very real hurdles for a long range recovery and for returning to a life she knew” but his mother was (his caps) “ABUNDANTLY, ABSOLUTELY, ADAMANTLY CLEAR she wants to go back to work and ‘it ain’t over until Katherine Chancellor sings!’”
We wouldn’t expect anything else from the one and only Jeanne Cooper! Please share your thoughts here for Jeanne as she rally’s back and soon can hopefully leave the hospital! And from On-Air On-Soaps, a personal note, to thank all the wonderful Y&R and Jeanne fans for coming here over the last week or so and sending prayers Jeanne’s way!
To her fans, Bernsen said, “Enjoy the photo and her stuffed dog she calls Cracker Jack — after her real dog waiting patiently at home for her.”
