This is so wrong that general hospital should be in the lead actress. They deserve it than nbc and cbs put thogether . I hate cbs..

    PatF replied

So that’s your reason for not being able to pick a winner, because you “hate” CBS?

    Why does GH “deserve” anything?

The actresses in this category worked for their nom. You should be happy for them.

There have been many instances where GH has won several Emmys that they probably didn’t deserve.

Barbara why does GH qualify and the other networks are nothing….What? U didn’t even watch the reels did you? All are stellar performances and just because GH didn’t make the cut is because drama over camp wins everytime fact…GH seems more like a sitcom than good soapy drama.

Barbara, just think of what happened last year when Y&R didn’t get a single nomination for Lead Actress!!!! Or what happened when all of GH actors got and one DAYS actor got Supporting Actor nomination!

CBS Is the best they have been #1 over 20 years for a reason, at least they know how to treat the actors and the fans unlike ABC.

when it’s not who should be up for the awards…. (GH Women)

may as well look and “hope” for the upset.

Peggy McCay – over – frontrunner? Susan Flannery? Sure… why not.

Michael Muhney – Adam. – over – front runner? Jason Thompson, Patrick. why not?
course, I want Jason to win… so… I’d let it go, for MM.

I’ll have to go with Peggy McKay in this category. Flannery, Stafford and Tom are great actresses; however, Flannery and Tom’s scenes were over-written and drawn out, while Stafford’s reel didn’t display any of her character’s sympathetic, vulnerable traits (her performance with Avery as their father lay dying was stronger material that showed the true depth of her range and should have been submitted instead). McKay — despite being an underrated, unsung heroine of the serial genre, having created one of the first leading ladies on one of daytime’s first successful soaps — displays an emotional range in her reel that is truly Emmy-worthy: defiance, confusion, shock, horror. She deserves this!

As a longtime B&B and DAYS fan, my heart is with Susan Flannery. After watching these reels though, I would not be shocked to see Peggy McCay win.

All are good reels…I’ve watched all the others that have been posted and Stafford is pretty much present in all of them. She’s great, and I’d love to see her win, but I think Flannery will win.

I’m still very disappointed that General Hospital’s very talented ladies were passed over, however, whats done is done and judging from the reels, I believe this is Susan Flannery’s year. She has a subtle and raw approach that really grips an audience and ofcourse for people who have watched B&B for a long time, it was a very emotional scene. I think Peggy McCay showed terrific range in her reel and I think if anyone were to beat Flannery, it would be her. I was not impressed with Heather Tom’s reel. I think it is because she plays practically the same scene every year (not her fault, that’s the writer’s) and it just doesn’t feel fresh, there isn’t that range that McCay shows and there isn’t that raw emotion that Flannery displays. Michelle Stafford is a very talented woman, but I think there were better scenes she could have picked from in 2012. But time will tell and we shall find out who wins the trophy in June. :)

Susan Flannery or Heather Tom will win this award this year. The Emmy panel are OBSESSED with those two women.

This is a joke…Peggy McCay??? I love DOOL as much as the next, but COME ON? Lead actress??? Lead??? This was the year that Erica Slazek and Kassie Depaiva should have been nominated. OLTL was definitely overlooked even tho they were eligible…

I imagine they’ll give it to Flannery. It will be her last one and she deserves it, especially with her last storyline.

But I would love to see Peggy Kay get it, she’s been great on Days for years and nice to see her FINALLY get some recognition!

Jane Elliot, Kelly Monaco, Finola Hughes or Kelly Sullivan!!! All four are leading ladies on General Hospital and all four were snubbed!!!

Thinking KKL was lead and had watched “supporting’ and “lead” and forgot which one I was posting for I realized but after watching these lead actresses again third time a charm…this is hard to choice. For lead I leaning towards HT but Susan had a terrific year, but keeping KKL as winner for supporting.

The Emmy will go to S. Flannery. The only criticism I have is that MTS from Young&R…..should have been nominated. Her body of work is phenomenal. As much as I love Michelle S…..her acting chops ,sorry that she has been left out again

I agree with you Charles, out of the 4 I personally feel Michelle’s wasn’t comparable to Susan & Heather’s reels. Michelle’s reel was good but not sure better.

MTS, should had in there, not sure did she submit this year? She did do some good stuff as drunk “NikkI”!

I’m gonna give this one to Susan Flannery. I think Heather Tom will come in a very close 2nd. As much as I enjoyed Peggy McKay’s reel, I just don’t think she had enough of a body of work to show. Michelle Stafford (thank God she’s leaving Y&R) is a scenery chewer, that’s all she does. So, Susan Flannery for the win.

Heather Tom or Susan Flannery deserve this award. Any other winner is just not worthy. And I’ll be pissed if I see Peggy win the award, not because of her herself, but because the character is hardly a leading lady on the DAYS cast any longer.

I LOVE all of these actresses; they bring so much to the genre each and every day. It’s really impossible to choose; each deserves it in their own, special way. I think WE are the winners for getting to see them every day; don’t even get me started, though. on Stafford leaving…..! :(

All the reels are good tbh! Susan Flanner or Heather Tom for Lead Actress. It would be good to see Peggy McCay win but I just don’t think her reel is strong enough! Michelle Stafford winning would not be a surprise considering how many times she’s been nominated for Lead Actress!

I don’t watch any of these shows , I have watched Days. McKay should win. She was great in these scenes.the others have been here before, and they didn’t show me anything. heather and Susan are dying, so they get the sympathy vote. No . Like someone said Peggy showed a lot more range. Hope she gets it.

Hey Michael. Thanks for putting the scenes up. It is so nice to be able to see what the judges get to vote on. If you do not watch all the shows, and I don’t this gives you reason the ones who win do. They vote only on thease scenes. I have been watching them all here, and I like this.I have always wondered how the judges pick the actors they do, Now I know.

The symbol’ism… “take my ring off” – “I want you to have it” “I wanted something of you and I never imagined it would be this….” “You had All My Men” “That Hurt” “It Hurt Me”

    - Thereafter, “sing me to sleep baby girl…” – didn’t work.
    ——————————–

i try to figure out why… i don’t need to… the difference between GH and DAYS… Days heavily.. relies… on lots of one on one relationships… is that the reason DAYS resonates that much more with me? i’ve likened it to a lot of one act plays… as well. so to be heavily vested in all the actors….. performances and hopefully they all come together … sidebar: DAYS has been doing that.

watching Peggy McCay… doing more than rappin’ Granny… is touching… soft tender moments… with Peter Reckell. He helped with his departure.

So, she may not be a featured player… but… she displayed an issue… and opened that mother/son time… and cried with and for.
    —————

watching Phyllis “real” her emmy… with Christine and Paul… was telling. shows so much more of her Talent….. no more domineering mother and fraught over Nick and Jack. kinda reminded me of Rosalind Russell… and she’s good.

“don’t talk to me like you know me.” isn’t that refreshing… liked her … loved her all the more.

Christine… You looked so Good! LOL… Nice!

    her reel… aside from Nick… show’s she’s a winner. I found out… I love her.

    ———————————–

I don’t care to differentiate between those who can afford and what I can only imagine… notwithstanding, (the chemical reaction). I can’t know that…

“I can’t let you fall in love with me” ???? wow!

not knowing her story…. we? know she’s dying… and we watch this? if she loves her child knowingly… this happens.

“you are so exhausted” that must be it.
    ——————–

the emmy reels technically, and put together wise… from start to finish.

    #1. Peggy McCay.
#2. Michelle Stafford. #3. Heather Tom. #4. Susan Flannery.

it’s what it becomes this year.
