News out of Broadcasting & Cable is that CBS Evening News and former Today Show host, Katie Couric is considering developing a female-oriented daytime talk show for the 2012 season.
According to B&C, “As Katie Couric’s contract with CBS News nears its end, multiple syndicators are approaching her about daytime possibilities. Her $15 million annual contract with CBS News expires end of May, but the news anchor has begun considering her options should renewing her contract with CBS not pan out. Couric, who was The Today Show‘s star for 15 years, has been considered the ideal candidate for daytime talk due to her warm rapport with guests and her broad experience covering female-friendly topics. ”
According to sources – 2012 would be a good time for Couric to throw her hat into the daytime arena. One thing that that Couric and her team are watching is to see if the newly announced Anderson Cooper daytime talk show, simply titled, Anderson, will yield success.
