44 November 28th, 2010 Y&R in New Orleans, Bell weighs in…Is it going to be Shadam or Shick? – Watch the Video!

Tomorrow. Monday, November 29th start the New Orleans episodes that Y&R stars, Sharon Case (Sharon), Joshua Morrow (Nick), Christian LeBlanc (Michael), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) and Michael Muhney (Adam) all participated in.

Maria Arena Bell, head writer and co-executive producer of The Young and the Restless was interviewed by the local New Orleans press outlet Nola.com and had this to say about the Big Easy episodes that provide some defining moments for Nick/Sharon/Adam! Bell stated, “We are a multigenerational show and always will be. But what you’re seeing now is a younger generation, led by Nick and Adam, rising up and having conflicts that are a mirror image of Victor’s own actions. It’s a classic tale going back to Shakespeare and the Bible, and one we’ll continue to run with. What happens in New Orleans, marks a “huge turning point” in the sibling conflict.”

Where does Maria Arena Bell get the idea that we want to see Sharon with the man who took her baby away from her to give to someone else to raise? God, I miss Bill Bell dearly. He, at least, had some kind of respect for the Nick & Sharon pairing and knew how to write powerful storylines for them. The Sharon & Nick fans have been jerked around for 4 straight years now.

Nicki loves Victor and he caused the death of her unborn baby John on the stairs; and Ashley married Victor and that was after he was indirectly responsible for the death of her and Brad’s unborn baby. If you are going to have a double standard just come out and say so.

Double standard?!? Are you frigging kidding me?!? I’m talking about Bill Bell’s standards for Nick & Sharon’s stories and you’re talking to me about Victor & Nikki and Victor & Ashley! And not only that, but you’re referring to two events caused accidentally. Are you trying to tell me that Adam gave away Sharon’s baby for Ashley to raise by accident? What kind of self delusional world are you living in? Or is it just killing you that somebody dares to not bow down and worship at Adam’s altar because they have, you know, reasonable arguments and long term memory?

i think that most intelligent viewers enjoy conflict in drama. i do not think that the majority of viewers want to see sharon with nick. i for one as do the folks i watch the soaps with want the passion that was exhibited by adam and sharon to continue

Y&R fans have been jerked around since Muhney was recast as Adam. But it’s not just about Adam…that’s just when it started. Nelson Branco’s spin on Shadam (as compared to Shick) made me nauseous. I will never drink the MAB/Shadam Kool-Aid. I’ll just keep watching whatever is in direct competition with Y&R. If TPTB at Y&R don’t care about their fans – which in turn means they really don’t care about their employees, why should I? I am not about to spend my time watching something that is so offensive when there are so many other options. Congrats MAB, You have turned a day one fan completely off. And I sure do miss watching Michelle Stafford and all the other actors and actresses…

Good bye then. I watched when I had to swallow the Shick koolaid. But the difference between you and me is I am a Y&R fan first and foremost. And my viewing doesnt change based on what I want to see. Otherwise I would write my own show and I would’ve left a long time ago when they brought Michael Baldwin back after murdering Rebecca and attacking Christine.

I am so tired of reading all of the silly tantrums from the Shick fans about “watching Y&R’s competition” as they whine on about Adam stealing Sharon’s baby and their getting together. Hey children, get over it. There’s a legion of Shadam fans out here that are sick of hearing your threats.

BTW, Michael Muhney has energized a lot of interest in this show and Josh Morrow has actually stepped it up a notch or two, finally. These two brothers are going to drive this show’s future. It makes for great soapy fun!

Yep! I can stand the characters Kevin, Michael Baldwin, Daniel, Jana and Phyllis, but even so I will always watch Y&R without fail. It would be silly to have a tantrum over two characters getting together. Shick fans think if they are the loudest, they are the ones who are right, but they’re not. I would wager that there are more Shadam fans out there who just dont cry and whine when it doesn’t go there way.

Has MAB actually watched the crap she is putting out on tv….and she is comparing it to the bible and shakespear? I will not be watching this contrived mess and the destruction of Sharon just so that they are able to keep Adam viable. I hope their ratings tank and NOLA stunt is an epic fail

That’s not going to happen. If they keep Michael on who murdered Rebbecca and Phyllis on who murdered Sasha and attempted to murder Paul and Christine. If they keep Kevin on who tried to murder Colleen, and if they keep Victor on who murdered water Palin….I think you get my drift. I hate the character Michael Baldwin but as much as I hate it I don’t wish for Y&R’s ratings to tank, all because of my one opinion. That’s seeing myself as more important than 48 actors’ jobs, and that’s not right.

Adam and Sharon, both with character flaws, are the most exciting storyline and the New Orleans setting could not be better. Great for NOLA and YandR. Thanks MAB for giving us fans who started with YandR at the beginning, something to look forward to on a daily basis. I started watching YandR on day one when I was a junior in high school, and now I am a retired physician who can watch and love it daily.

Clueless Nick is looking for a “killer” — Sharon is looking for her love.

Adam and Sharon bring more intensity in a single glance than shick’s two-day love-making. Shadam keeps me glued to the screen.

Sharon and Nick have grown apart. It’s time to move on. Adam loves Sharon more than he loves himself. He’s sorry for his crimes (they were before he fell in love with her) and he paid for them which is more than anyone can say for Victor, Phyllis, Kevin, Michael, Jack and plenty of other characters which have done just as bad things (ex; attempted murder, kidnapping, rape, switching paternity tests, etc.). Phyllis ran over Sharon while trying to kill Christine in case anyone’s forgotten that one not to mention switching paternity, homewrecking but she walks in society like she has nothing to hide. Shadam is true love!

I know, and I so want MAB to revisit the whole Phyllis running over Paul time period and her killing Sasha. I am sick to death of the character Phyllis’s sanctimonious attitude towards Adam. She is almost becoming unwatchable, seriously. I could do without Michelle Stafford, who is an amazing actress for sure, but I could do without her character being interjected into every storyline. It’s ridiculous.

I agree with you about Michelle Stafford being an amazing actress…. but to say that Phyllis is unwatchable is a serious travesty!!! The character of Phyllis – in my opinion – is hands down the most intriguing and exciting to watch on the entire show! She’s a fragile, ferocious femme fatale who totally dominates whatever scene she’s in. I want MORE PHYLLIS!!!

If you don’t watch then you are missing out on the hottest chemistry between two characters ever seen on Y&R and I have watched this show for 25 years. These two have even more chemistry than Lauren and Michael and hey, Michael’s character attempted to rape Christine, and murdered Rebecca, so if Lauren can have Michael then Sharon can have Adam. Fair is fair.

I want Sharon to ALWAYS be with ADAM. They are the super couple of the decade! No one else on Y&R has the chemistry that these two have. I am finally getting what I have wanted for many months now and that is to have these two back together, and hopefully it will be permanently. As for the generational point of view, my own mother is almost 80 and she’s a huge Shaddam fan too! She thinks Nick and Sharon are boring as well.

I am so happy to finally have Michael Muhney and Sharon Case in these kinds of scenes again. I saw the Canadian episode for tomorrow and their sex scene is off the charts smoking hot. I can’t wait for everyone else to see it too.

Back in the day Shick had some great love scenes and they had a powerful love story. That is why it is so hard for Shick fans to let go and I am a die-hard fan, but it is time to let go. The show needs this storyline between the two brothers and their good vs evil personas and their fight for their woman.

I would like to see Adam and Sharon get together. Couldn’t Adam do something fantastic like save the lives of Victor and Nick and finally be accepted by the family. I stopped enjoying the storyline way back when Adam wasn’t welcomed warmly by the family when he came to town. I feel sad when I see him being shunned. I believe in forgiveness and redemption.

I want Shick together always. They belong together always have. Adam and Sharon have no chemistry and it makes the character of Sharon unwatchable to want to be with a man at all who did what he did to her and her family without a second thought. Shick fans have been jerked around for years with stop and start reunions, give us our couple back. The show is never going to let them truly move on from eachother so just put them together for good.

Sharon Case and Michael Muhney are magical and mesmerizing to watch. Soaps aren’t about reality, they are an escape away from the boring and mundane. Shick had their very long time in the sun and while they will always be a fan favorite, it’s time to put them away . Shadam are here now and they have eclipsed everything that ever was shick. It’s time to let SC move on from being stuck in the shick sl, she simply shines with Michael Muhney and it’s clear that they love working with each other. The storyline is dark, twisted, unconventional and hard for some to swallow, but one thing it is not is boring.

As for the poster who says they miss watching phyllis/michelle stafford, well I for one am sick of seeing her inserted into every storyline with no purpose. She is put into storylines that do not need her and it’s obvious with the dialogue that the writers have some contractual obligation with MS to put her in so many scenes, because at times the dialogue and scenes for MS are beyond idiotic.

All they have done with this Sharon / Adam pairing is to make Sharon look like a loon. I don’t know why Adam is still on the show. He should have been killed or sent to prison a long time ago. There is nothing appealing about him.

I hope Nick gets full custody of Faith and just let Sharon go. She is too stupid to worry about anymore.

Most viewers prefer Sharon with Nick, not Adam. The only people really rooting for Shadam are newbies, and Phyllis fans that just enjoy watching Sharon’s character being dragged through the mud. There is no way in hell, Sharon would turn her back on Faith for Adam. The writers are assassinating her character. MAB’s henchmen haven’t got a friggin clue about he show’s history and they’re destroying the show. Its like ever since she took over, either she doesn’t have a clue wihat the viewers want or she just doesn’t care. I guess once her awful a$$ s/l’s finally get the show cancelled, B & B will be the only CBS soap still standing…

Very dissapointed! I only watch because of Nick and Sharon and have waited for a real reunion but again it’s a let down. I really don’t see this great pairing of Adam and Sharon, it makes no sense at all. No more Y&R for this viewer

I love Nick and Sharon always will I have stopped watching all they know how to write is one hopping into another’s bed their is no true romance left on this show it will sink if they keep this up sorry to say. I am so disappointed started liking Chloe with Kevin started out romantic and great could have been a great story then he has sex with Jenna they ruin everything on here just as they put a end to one story I loved Shick I started liking Kevin and Chloe it now is ruined. I have been reading all the boards your true problem with your writing is I watch to escape I have enough problems in the real world see we all love the build up but we don’t like to be jerked around if you were going to put Adam and Sharon together I liked them so last year but now I am just tired of it all and why bring Nick back into it making it so fake I love you Nick the next day I love you Adam that is not writing that is plain dumb!!! And why take and put this whole baby thing between Nick and Sharon again you could have just let them live their own lives why did they even try to get back in June 2009 then again now stupid the whole Paris thing Sharon longing for Nick…I would have had Nick fight for Sharon for a while not just dismiss her after the way he treated her like last year when she was with Adam I started liking her then now well…I can;t like anything on Y&R no more they won’t let you Please a triangle between Victor Nick and Diane Please that is just sick!!!!!!!!!!

I hate seeing Sharon with Adam. Its like a bad dream. Why? She sounds like a broken record saying that Adam didn’t do it. I love the Ronan/Heather and Kevin/Chloe matches. I really hope Ronan’s character lives and stays on the show. Maybe even bring Chance back someday.

I don’t like the Adam/Sharon match. It’s like she lost her mind for him. I was hoping that like in Dallas she would wake up and it would have been a nightmare. On the other hand, I like the pairings of Ronan/Heather & Kevin/Chloe. I like how Jill and Loren have bonded. I hope onan’s character lives and stays on the show. Maybe even bring Chance back someday.

I love Adam and Sharon together. Their chemistry is so great. This is a great story line of forgiveness and love two things the world is made of with out them where would we be. Sharon and Adam Rock!!!!!
