Last evening in New York City the promotional train continued for the upcoming online premiere of All My Children and One Life to Live when hit radio station Z100 presented it’s own first showing of the first episodes of AMC and OLTL and conducted a Q&A with five of the series stars: One Life’s Erika Slezak (Viki), Melissa Archer (Natalie) and Corbin Bleu (Jeffrey) and All My Children’s Cady McClain (Dixie) and Thorsten Kaye (Zach)!

During the Q&A, which was hosted by Danielle Monaro and Bethany Watson from “Elvis Duran and the z100 Morning Show”,  (Watson makes an appearance on next Thursday’s episode of One Life in scenes with Robin Strasser’s Dorian) the gals asked some very good questions to the soap star panel including the question of how long they are contracted with the show and if they do indeed have contracts to which six-time Daytime Emmy winner, Erika Slezak responded,  “I think they’re all for one year because the deal with the union is only for a year right now.  Our SAG-AFTRA union made a deal for one year and they said that in one year if this goes, then we will talk about it again. And, I’m sure they will renegotiate, but they wanted to make sure everything was on the up and up this year.”  Corbin Bleu seemed to quietly intimate that his contract may not be for as long, during the Q&A session.

Racier content and having more leeway on shows on the Internet was also a hot topic posed to the actors who all seem to agree that the racy content in the new AMC and OLTL comes out of character and plot and is not feeling at this point, at all just thrown in or gratuitous.   Melissa Archer related a story how she grieved when One Life was cancelled by ABC, and still wanted to be called “Natalie”, and Erika Slezak ended the festivities by letting the audience and the hosts know the latest slogan of the reboot, “We’re no longer Daytime, We’re Anytime!”

Watch the z100 AMC and OLTL stars on the panel from last night’s event, after the jump! Then, let us know what you thought about the contract talks, the edgier content coming you way, and the two soaps moving into their new home online on Monday!

I feel they will make it sexy spicy and very modern/talk at first to hook in the younger generation, and then later it will even out and go more low-key..

heyyy its show business and they do use hookem in gimmicks :)

I’m so excited. This is a wonderful video. Thank you for posting it. Everyone looks fantastic. I love their enthusiasm about the sets and scripts and direction of the shows. Kassie DePaiva said in one of the earlier promos the returns are just this side of a miracle. She is so right.

    We’re Anytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the shows are a success will there be raises when its time to renew contracts? It just seems that some stars would want more money eventually…maybe not all but a few. What if some dont resign because they want more money? Sounds like Corbin might be a temp for now but they can always extend his contract…it feels like he could be a more important character to the show as David Vickers son? Hope to check it out at the library sometime next week with my husband and friend Jim.(we all use his computer but its browser doesnt support hulu but we r working together to get him a new one eventually…long story kept short.) Read on one of the links that a few actors on AMC did get carried away with the f bombs but PP said something like that they didnt want to give the wrong idea that it was being overused just because they could use it! A few wont bother us, even tho i dont like it, but i can let it pass as long as not too often. But ill wait and see…its the storylines that got to engage us the most…the OLTL previews look interesting enough especially Tucks John Travoltas SNF dance number…hes an amazingly gifted actor. Doesnt look like ABC/Dummies didnt do to much damage…seems they are countining Teas story from GH…or are they? Looking at that empty crib may mean several things! But what if they do continue Ghs story that baby Victor was born dead? Maybe in a way, ABCs cancelling the show was a good thing after all since several said they prefer to watch online anyway? But its ashame some arent so lucky to watch in their homes!

It could be that Tea is still pregnant and she was in the baby’s room missing Todd ((TSJ)) and just lost it?? I don’t remember them showing her belly in the clip….

Sounds like Corbin’s character is short-term. That’s too bad. But as a viewer, I suppose it’s better to know up front rather than getting too interested in a new character that the show has already decided not to keep.
