Brad talks to Katie through Henry.  Henry’s not sure if he should relate everything, but he does, and Brad and Katie have an emotional connection.  Later, Simon has Jacob in a cute Christmas outfit but Katie wants to be alone with her husband. Even though Simon has job leads and could possibly stay in Oakdale, she’d rather he not.  She just wants to be with Brad.  It’s Christmas Eve in Oakdale. Katie continues to entertain the idea of having Christmas with Brad’s spirit. She invites Jack, Janet and Liberty over and they grow very concerned over her belief that Brad’s ghost is present. Henry arrives and Katie and Brad plead with him to act as a liaison between Brad and the rest of them. Henry refuses so Brad pushes him. Henry hits his head and loses the ability to see Jack. Everyone leaves Katie’s uncomfortable with the situation. Brad runs into the spirit of Santa who helps him connect and say goodbye to Liberty, Janet and Jack. They’re all heart warmed by the experience. Brad’s reluctant to let go of Katie, but then he sees how hard his ghostly presence is on her. Katie, Brad, and Jacob share Christmas Eve together. Santa collects Brad and he and Katie say goodbye.  Henry and Simon hang out together and Henry’s upset Brad never said goodbye to him. A goodbye message from Brad is spelled out in the toppings on their pizza.

Meg wants to see Eliza on her first birthday, but the nurse won’t let her.  Paul comes in with a basket, says it’s Meg’s things, but it’s their daughter.  Paul then talks to Holden about doing what Holden can to prevent Meg from staying in a mental hospital, which Paul recommends against.  Emily thinks Meg should stay in there.  Damian, meanwhile, drugs Lily to sleep, sneaks over to Deerbrook, pays off the orderly Sharkey to cut off the security feed and intimidates Meg.  Damian leaves and the nurse is faced with Meg, who seems to be hallucinating intruders.  At the Hearing Room, everyone assembles for Meg’s hearing. Meg enters and screams at Damian for visiting her at Deerbrook and trying to make her appear crazy. Lily tells Holden she wants Meg put away. Molly tells Meg she can’t find any evidence of Damian’s guilt. Damian and Lily insist Meg’s lying about Damian visiting her at the hospital and Meg gets so frustrated she lashes out at them. The attendant holds her back and the Judge recommends she return to Deerbrook until further notice. In the parking lot, the attendant hits someone with his car. It’s Paul. The attendant let’s Meg out to attend to Paul since she’s a nurse. Paul fakes grogginess and slips Meg his car keys. When the attendant goes to call 911, Meg runs to Paul’s car and he whisks her back to Fairwinds. Meg, hiding in the Wine Cellar, calls Damian and warns him that he’ll pay for what he did to her. Meanwhile, Molly and Holden try to vindicate Meg by visiting the hospital. The attendant that Damian paid off, convinces them that Meg’s truly delusional. Then they hear that Meg’s escaped.   Meg is in the Fairwinds Wine Cellar.  She drinks some wine but hears Eliza cry, so she goes upstairs.  The jig is up as Paul admits to Emily he wanted Meg to be free on Christmas, to see her daughter.

Ali, with Mick, goes to the hospital for Emily’s fertility check up. Ali tells Mick that she dreamt about him in a church, he’s visibly shaken by this information. Barbara corners Mick, alone and demands to talk with him. He leaves with her. Emily returns, with the news that the Doctor says she looks good, only to find Ali alone and confused about where Mick’s gone off to. Casey arrives and takes Ali off to cut down a Christmas tree. They have a fun time joking around. They share an intimate moment and almost kiss. They set up the tree at Tom/Margo’s together. They almost kiss again, under some plastic mistletoe but Ali once again ducks out if it.  Barbara goes to the Funeral Home in an attempt to collect evidence that James is truly dead. The Funeral Director admits the files on James are missing, to Barbara’s frustration. Barbara demands an explanation from Mick, as to why he knows so much about James Stenbeck and why there was a glass in his room with James’ fingerprints on it. Mick feigns ignorance, but Barbara wants to know if he’s working for James and if James, once again, faked his own death. Barbara sees a scar on Mick, identical to a scar James had. Barbara refuses to accept that Mick is James, made young again. Mick appeals to Barbara, as James.  Casey has invited Alison over for Christmas Eve, as friends. But he then proposes to her!  She rushes outside, caught off guard.  Casey talks to her and gets her back inside.  Bob and Kim, meanwhile, are looking forward to their 25th wedding anniversary. Bob gives Kim a beautiful ornament to that effect.  Casey arranged for Margo to talk to Adam, which Margo appreciates.  Mick talks even more like James, speaking wisely about life when he sees Eliza.  Mick talks as such to Barbara in the elevator and scares her. Janet and Dusty share a kiss. Liberty’s attitude toward Jack softens. Jack and Carly spend Christmas Eve with Parker and Sage. Lucinda sees that Lily’s upset that the children seem to be depressed at Christmas. She goes to Emma and they conspire to set up Holden and Lily to run into each other in Old Town. Holden and Lily realize they were duped, but they decide, for the sake of the children, that everyone should unite at the farm. Once there the adults – Lily, Holden, Emma and Lucinda – each go talk to a child and establish what’s bothering them. They discover all the children are worried about each other. The family goes about remedying each of their problems. Ethan is convinced Santa exists again and Holden and Lily accept Faith’s choice to go to boarding school. Lucinda flies Noah back, and while he’s unwilling to commit to Luke in any real way yet, they share a happy time together. Everyone takes a family Christmas photo to please Natalie. Molly returns and Lily and Lucinda leave. Lily, awaiting Damian at home, looks at the Christmas photo they all just took and sees that the connection between her and Holden is visible – even on film.
