As part of the ISA plan to rattle Stefano, Billie tells EJ that his father was responsible for the tip that led to the charges against John being dropped. EJ is furious since Stefano had previously denied this accusation. He goes to confront him, and Stefano finally admits the truth. EJ warns he still intends to take control of the DiMera Empire even though he’s not a blood relative and will use every underhanded trick Stefano ever taught him to achieve his goal. With the help of ISA technology, Hope uncovers a jeweler’s mark on Stefano’s half-coin. It belongs to an Italian jeweler who has served the DiMera family for generations. Hope and Bo tell Shane they want to go to Italy to get information from the jeweler about why this coin is so important to Stefano. Meanwhile, Stefano demands that Agent Harmon get the coin back from the ISA. Harmon heads to the ISA office … will he discover Bo and Hope?
Roman brings Austin to the safe house where he nearly walks in on Carrie and Rafe kissing. While Austin speaks with Carrie privately, Roman tells Rafe he should respect Carrie and Austin’s marriage and keep his distance from his daughter. Carrie makes another attempt to tell Austin she wants to end their marriage, but Roman interrupts before she gets the chance. Once alone, Rafe and Carrie agonize over hurting Austin, but also know in their hearts they must be together. Lexie watches as Cameron bonds with Theo. Cameron explains he worked with autistic children during his residency. Lexie asks her half-brother to be part of her son’s life after she’s gone. She regrets she won’t be able to offer Theo guidance in the future. Celeste and Cameron come up with an idea for Lexie to make a series of DVDs that Theo can watch as he grows older.
At ISA headquarters, Bo and Hope manage to hide just as Agent Harmon enters the office. They watch in frustration as he steals Stefano’s prized coin. Meanwhile, John and Marlena knock heads with Shane over how to defeat Stefano. When Bo and Hope report the coin is gone, everyone is rocked, knowing this is a game changer. Now that Stefano is in possession of it, he could leave town at any moment and their window of opportunity to bring him down could pass. After hearing Stefano is about to make a deal with an arms trafficker, they decide to set up a sting, feeding misinformation to Stefano via his spy. They hold their breath, praying this will work. Sami tells Lucas she knows he took the fall for Will in EJ’s shooting. She’s not happy about being kept in the dark but she’s grateful for what he sacrificed for their son. When she learns Lucas has known all along that EJ was blackmailing Will, she explodes with anger. How could he keep that from her? Will walks in on this and is amused that his mother is angry with someone else for lying. It leads to a fight between them where their frustrations are all laid bare. As the tension rises, Will decides it’s finally time to come clean … and he reveals to his parents that he is gay!
Gabi realizes her lie about having a stalker is getting harder and harder to keep up. First, Will all but insists she get out of town until it’s resolved … which of course would leave Chad alone with Melanie. Gabi balks at this. Next, when she pretends she’s being followed, Melanie puts her foot down and says this is a job for the police. Gabi has to do some tap dancing to convince everyone not to go to the authorities. Even though she succeeds, she still has to watch as Melanie and Chad move off hand-in-hand. Maggie informs Melanie and Chad that she bought the day spa. John, Bo and Hope explain their plan to Rafe – they are going to meet with Vladimir Nevsky, an international illegal arms dealer. Acting as prospective buyers, they want to outbid Stefano’s original offer. They know Stefano will catch wind of this, causing him to contact Nevsky, and then they will bust him for arms trafficking. They nervously wait to hear if Shane can set up a meeting. He does, and the four head off to meet with Nevsky, who is suspicious of their intentions. John manages to win him over. They are about to close the deal when Nevsky gets a text and has his men pull guns on the foursome. Nevsky says he knows who they are and why they are really here.
Sami and Lucas react in shock to Will’s admission that he is gay. Sami is particularly hard hit, not able to believe she didn’t know what her son was going through. Reeling from the shock and guilt, Sami flees, leaving a devastated Will. Will and Lucas have a serious heart-to-heart about what Will has gone through. Lucas admits he’s disappointed because he imagined a different future for his son. Will assures his dad he can still be happy but then asks Lucas the key question – can his father accept him being gay? Meanwhile, Sami runs into EJ, who deduces that Will has come out. Sami confides that she feels like a terrible mother. How could she have not known? EJ is the voice of reason and gently points out she’s looking at this all wrong. She’s thinking of herself, not Will. She needs to be there for her son. Earlier, EJ visits Nicole, hoping she will be more receptive to him now that Rafe is gone. Nicole insists she doesn’t want EJ in her life or in that of her baby’s. She still claims the child is Rafe’s. EJ refuses to let this go and warns he will always be a part of her life now that she’s carrying his child. He leaves Nicole shaken.
Madison, Kate and Brady prepare for an important meeting with Serge, the fashion editor. They want to convince Serge to promote the Mad World/Basic Black joint venture to make it a huge success. While no one is looking, Ian manages to slip drugs into Brady’s protein powder and shake. When Brady shows up at the pub, he is high as a kite and Nicole tries to stop him from going into the meeting. Brady gets past her and royally screws things up. Serge informs Kate and Madison he cannot support their project when Brady is such a liability. Later, furious Madison confronts Brady, asking if he’s drunk or high. Brady denies both. Ian shows up to check out his handiwork, and Brady is devastated that he’s ruined everything. John, Bo, Hope and Rafe are held at gunpoint by the arms dealer, Nevsky, and his thugs, who have discovered their true identities. John and the others smoothly and cleverly talk Nevsky down by “explaining” their motives for wanting to outbid Stefano. John is a long-standing enemy of Stefano’s, Bo and Hope are disgruntled cops and Rafe is ex-FBI who also has a personal score to settle with DiMera. The dealer buys it. Before the sale actually takes place, John, Bo, Hope and Rafe overpower the mercenaries, arrest them, and prepare to carry out their sting on Stefano.
Sami continues to confide in EJ about the way she reacted to Will revealing he’s gay. EJ is supportive and encourages Sami to go back to Will and do what she should have done in the first place: tell him she loves him unconditionally. Sami thanks him and leaves to do exactly that. Meanwhile, Will presses Lucas to answer his question: Does Lucas accept him being gay? Lucas says Will should never doubt that and tells a story from Will’s childhood, relating it to his current state. Will tells his father how he was able to confide in Marlena while he was going through all this. Sami returns to hear him praise Marlena. She lashes out at Will for confiding in Marlena instead of her. Will can’t believe his mother is making this about her, yet again. He storms out. Lucas tells Sami she has to fix this or she’s going to lose her son forever.
At the pub, Abe helps Lexie work on the next item on her “bucket list”: going to Paris with Chad, Melanie, Cameron and Celeste. During the planning, Lexie asks Kayla to please be there for Abe after she’s gone. Kayla promises. Abigail arrives and thinks what they’re doing is wonderful. She shares her love for Paris with Cameron, and they discover they have a lot of favorite places in common. Chad and Melanie see their growing attraction and, playing matchmaker, they suggest Abigail come along. In a moment alone, Celeste reminds Cameron to be careful … she sees danger surrounding Abigail. EJ arrives and tells everyone he’s arranged for a private jet. A disappointed Lexie hears from her specialist that she’s not well enough to travel. Abe slips out with Chad, EJ and Cameron and after much mystery; they eventually bring Lexie to the town square which has been transformed into a replica of Paris. Lexie is thrilled and beyond touched.
John, Bo, Hope and Rafe have all donned disguises in anticipation of Stefano’s arrival. Bo, taking the lead, wears an electronic voice-altering device to pass as the arms dealer Stefano was supposed to meet. A furious Stefano arrives, having heard that someone was trying to outbid him. Bo gets him to confess his intention to buy illegal arms and then re-sell them. Having gotten his confession on tape, the group reveals themselves and Stefano is arrested. Carrie continues to confide in Marlena about wanting to be with Rafe once they come out of hiding from Stefano. Carrie feels a bit nauseous and Marlena shocks her by suggesting she may be pregnant. Sami and Lucas discuss how she has to do everything she can to make things right with Will. She has to let him know she loves him and accepts him being gay. They also argue a bit about how much time she seems to spend with EJ.
At the town square, Abe and Lexie enjoy the recreation of a night in Paris with their friends and family. Abigail and Cameron continue to grow closer – much to Celeste’s dismay. Gabi arrives and hates seeing Chad and Melanie together. She plays the “stalker” card to turn their attention away from each other and onto her. Abigail remains suspicions about Gabi. Lexie and EJ talk about Nicole, and Lexie hopes he’ll find true love soon. Sami happens by and EJ asks how it went with Will. Sami admits not so good. EJ tells her she can’t give up and as he provides support, Lucas moves in and sees them together. Maggie has arranged a private dinner to celebrate Victor’s birthday. Lucas drops by to wish him well. He also thanks Maggie for never judging him and helping him during what was probably the hardest time of his life. While Maggie sees him out, Henderson comments on Victor’s happiness. Victor thinks of how he gave Maggie’s stolen eggs to Daniel’s parents and hopes his wife never learns the truth. Maggie, having heard, confronts him: “The truth about what? “
