Chance runs into Ashley and Traci at the coffeehouse while trying to sober Billy up and the women offer to take over for Chance. Ashley and Traci try to get Billy to go to Jack’s with them but Billy refuses and starts to drunken dial Mac. Meanwhile, Jack surprises Emily with his full on Santa outfit. Later, Jack is stunned at the timing as he is telling Emily that he wished his family were with him for the holiday, Ashley and Traci arrive to share it with them. Kay is stunned by Jill’s gift but all is forgotten for a moment when Nikki arrives and Kay greets her warmly. When Kay returns to her gift, Jill is pleased and proud that Kay is so deeply touched by her gift. However, the group reacts, including Tucker, when Kay decides she doesn’t want to know who her daughter truly is. Phyllis asks Nick where Adam is going with the Newman jet on Christmas but Nick is less than willing to give her an answer. Phyllis pushes and Nick is forced to admit that Adam took Sharon to Lake Tahoe. Meanwhile, in Lake Tahoe, Sharon and Adam meet their Justice of the Peace and prepare to get married. Later, Sharon and Adam exchange vows and rings as they become Mr. and Mrs. Victor Newman Jr.  Just as the enormity of what they have done is hitting Sharon, the pilot comes over the P.A. to tell them that they have to make an emergency landing. Meanwhile, Nick learns the Newman jet has hit a storm and goes out to find it. Later, as the plane plummets, Adam writes “your baby is alive” on a piece of paper for Sharon just as the plane is about to crash.

As Mac brings a drunken Billy home, he kisses her before passing out. Daisy goes to the coffeehouse to tell Ryder the story that she told Eden about why she was hugging him about the boutique and when Ryder starts complaining Daisy reminds him that she is his sister and he needs to back her up. Later, Eden and Noah are shocked to find that Daisy returned to Michael and Lauren’s all on her own. . Nick calls Phyllis to tell her that traffic control lost contact with the Newman jet last night and Phyllis realizes what that means for Sharon and Adam. As Nick hangs up the phone, the FAA tells him that the plane may have crashed. Meanwhile, as Adam holds an injured Sharon, he remembers the events of last night and tells her how sorry he is. Phyllis goes to Michael and Lauren’s to wait for Noah to tell him about Sharon and she ends up spilling everything to them about Sharon and Nick. Later, Nick arrives at crash site and finds the pilot who tells them Sharon needs a doctor. Meanwhile, Adam panics as Sharon falls unconscious. At the hospital, Lily learns she got an infection from a hangnail. When Mac enters the room and the women’s eyes meet they realize how serious the situation is and they are overcome with emotion.

Nick calls Phyllis to talk to Noah and updates him about Sharon just as she is being wheeled into the hospital with Adam by her side. Later, Nick and Adam are hugely relieved to learn that Sharon only has a mild concussion. Nick moves off to call Noah as Adam goes into see Sharon. Before he can find out how much she remembers about the crash and his note, an FAA agent comes in to question them. Lily opens to Mac about the depth of her fears that she won’t be here to raise her child and Mac reminds her about all the living and dying she has seen and pushes Lily to remember all the reasons she has to continue to fight. Outside, Neil and Cane lean on each other for support. Later, Neil, Cane and Lily are stunned speechless when Malcolm walks into Lily’s room. Phyllis voices her frustration to Michael and Lauren that Nick is always running to Sharon’s rescue. Meanwhile, Adam is relieved when Sharon’s doesn’t remember his note about the baby. Nick enters the room and Sharon is stunned to see him. Nick is thrown for a loop when he tries to push Adam out of his conversation with Sharon and Sharon tells him that she and Adam got married.

As midnight of New Year’s Eve approaches Chance and Chloe share an intimate kiss and salute to the New Year; at the coffeehouse Victoria decides to leave since J.T. has to work anyways; Jack breaks the news of his engagement to Traci and Steve over the phone; and Billy leaves the dive bar, drunk and miserable. Billy sits drunk on the curb tossing his snow globe from Delia up into the air. As the clock strikes midnight the snow globe breaks and Billy finds himself in an alternate reality of Genoa City. John appears to speak to Billy and tells him that he will be his New Year’s date tonight. John first takes Billy to the Magazine Office to try to show him the awards the magazine has won for ad sales rather then journalistic integrity. Billy is not fazed by this and is excited to be prosperous. Their next stop is to Lily and Cane’s for a birthday party that takes place about 7 years in the future. Billy realizes that Mac has her own child and is married but not to Billy. Lily and Cane also have their own child from Mac. Billy is not pleased with how this future is starting to turn out. Billy tries to plead with Chloe to forgive him but realizes that she can’t hear him. Billy and John flash to the exterior of the dive bar where Billy sees himself slumped over the airbag of a crashed car and realizes he will die if he continues on his current course in life. Billy wakes up from his dream and finds himself still on the curb, drunk. Victoria arrives and helps him up.
